Why Jerry Isbell chose Oklahoma

The views and secluded acreage are second to none. Sitting on the deck at sunset still takes our breaths away. We 'Baby' Mountain Vista because it's our vacation home. Our guests, many of whom visit several times per year can sense our attention to detail and appreciate our little surprises!

Mountain Vista Cabin has come a long way since the day we drove up the hill, heard the wind piercing through the towering pines and were captivated with the view. We truly knew at that point this was the place to build! Opening the guestbook is the first thing we do after unlocking the door to our vacation home. The comments are a validation that dreams can come true. We’re blessed to have numerous guests experience Mountain Vista several times each year. We’ve heard a plethora of touching stories about this place. Buried within these four walls are tales of love, laughter, solace and even a party or two! We’ve hosted those welcoming new babies, newly created marriages and sadly, several who enjoyed it here knowing their last days on earth were numbered. This cabin has become much more than just a getaway. Beavers Bend, Broken Bow Lake and our guests have become syncopated with our heartbeats. To this day, we still get excited driving up the hill knowing our dream is just around the slight left curve. It’s our hope you’ll say “It’s been worth it” after taking in the sunset or enjoying a cup of coffee on the deck in the morning. You may also be amazed at the wildlife in this peaceful setting. Our hope is that you learn to see something even more amazing and have a greater love for each other, nature and serenity. When the time comes to say “Goodbye Mountain Vista, our prayer is your visit will cause things to never be the same. They’ll be better because these woods and walls have blessed you as much as they have us.

What makes this cabin unique

When doing research for a cabin in Beavers Bend, seclusion should be paramount in your requirements. Many cabins in the area do not indicate on their websites that another cabin is 30 feet away. We own an acreage in the prestigious Southern Hills Addition that offers privacy, yet we are close to all the local tourist attractions. Our guests tell us they get a little 'down in the dumps' on their last day at Mountain Vista...They hate to leave!

Guestbook comments from the owner

A little piece of heaven-stars included !

  • 5 of 5

All 7 of us arrived after dark and were very tired. The ease of getting settled in a very clean, neat and orderly cabin was much appreciated. On Thursday we prepared Thanksgiving dinner at cabin. The kitchen was very easy to work in and was even supplied with spices that I had forgotten! Loved it! The hot tub and fire pit were both a big hit with all ! Maybe next time ..... please throw in a Boy Scout to start the fire - haha ! Actually our challenged fire starter made for many, MANY, maybe too many laughs and memories! In addition, loved having a full size washer/dryer for those that got wet on The Duck Tours and the what seemed like unlimited hot water for hot showers for all ! Y'all thought of everything !

Thank you for helping to add to our family's life long memories !

Owner's Response: Thanks for the great review Cathy! Starting fires can sometimes be tricky...most of us don't do it often. You've given us a great idea to write about on our Mountain Vista/Beavers Bend blog! We hope you will visit again in 2017.

Great cabin, stocked with everything you could ever need, secluded and peaceful.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed the cabin. Well taken care of, clean and stocked with everything you might need. Had a nice surprise gift basket waiting for us which we really enjoyed. The owners spent a lot of time and expense stocking this cabin. The only thing we needed was paper plates, Ziploc bags, food, drinks and my favorite skillet. When I say everything I mean everything, I have never stayed in a rental stocked so well. They even use bath and body works soaps which smelled amazing. I was able to do all my laundry so we came home with clean clothes! We had a fire in the fire pit one night which was nice. They have a very good propane pit which we cooked on one night. The sheets on the beds were so soft, we slept very well on the master bed. The upstairs beds were nice but not the same as the master. They were a little squeaky and not Tempurpedic. Great for kids rooms. The flat screen T.V.'s in the rooms were a nice touch. Internet was not great, even though they had Wi-Fi it's still out in the boonies so don't plan on using social media, talking or texting too much. We were there to relax so it was nice that we couldn't do anything on our phones or computers anyway. We were just a few minutes from the marina where we rented waverunners and a pontoon boat. We highly recommend this cabin! Owners really care about you and try their best to make your stay comfortable and accommodating in every way.

Owner's Response: Thanks Keela! We have high-speed wireless internet at Mountain Vista. It's usually very fast. We apologize it was spotty at times during your stay. Hopefully you were logged into our network, perhaps that could have been the issue. We're thrilled you enjoyed our amenities and hope you'll return soon!

Perfect Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first family vacation that we went on since we were kids and it couldn't have been more perfect! The cabin fit 4 adult couples and my 8 month old nephew comfortably! The views are amazing and you truly feel secluded. We enjoyed our morning coffee in our pjs and bed head on the large porch and there was no one in sight! The weather was a little wet and muggy the weekend we stayed, but that didn't stop us from having some fun at the river and the lake. We went fishing, swam in the ice cold water, and ended the night relaxing in the jacuzzi and by the campfire roasting marshmallows from the thoughtful smores kit from the Isbells.

The cabin has everything you need (minus the food if you plan to cook your meals).

*Just as a warning, the driveway is a little steep...nothing too crazy but thank goodness we were in our truck. My parents were in a small car and had to "gas it" all the way to the top - they were slipping and sliding a little on the gravel BUT it was all fine once they got to the top.*

Owner's Response: Marion, Thank you for your kind words. We are so glad you thought the cabin was a PERFECT secluded getaway. Our views are one of the many things that make Mountain Vista rise above other rentals and we are glad you and your family enjoyed them. Our hill is high but the bottom and steep part are paved to help regular cars, like your parents, make the climb. We have it maintained regularly but it's a small price to pay for such a view. We are thrilled that you enjoyed our complimentary S'mores kit and firewood. We will continue to provide these as a special welcoming gift to all our guests and will definitely have one waiting if you choose to return.

An amazing cabin!

  • 5 of 5

If you're like me you've experienced "photo duping" where property owners post photographs that don't accurately represent what their place truly looks like. Or maybe you've read descriptions that are a bit... shall we say ... "creative" . . .

Some of the biggest problems I've experienced with Beavers Bend cabins are the result of photographs and descriptions that imply the property is more secluded than is the case. I'm a guy who likes privacy when I get away. A bit of solitude to relax and forget about work. And I've learned the hard way that most of the cabins in BB are practically stacked on top of one another! And it's getting worse, not better. Drive around and you will see all the new construction. Unfirtunately, many of these new cabins are crammed together or are being built right next to a road! Who thought THAT was a good idea? If I wanted a view of

my neighbors I'd stay home!

Of course the descriptions of those cabins don't say, "This is a cute cabin but you'll be listening to the guy next door snore" or "You'll get a great night's sleep here after the lady in the cabin below you stops yelling at her kids."

Mountain Vista is the first place I've found where the reverse is true - the descriptions and photos you see online don't do it justice. The views are more spectacular than any camera can capture (the breeze and a cold beer also add something, I admit) and there's a coziness to the great room and bedrooms that can't be described in a few sentences. You have to experience these things, I guess.

I can tell you this: Mountain Vista is by far the best cabin I've ever stayed in, and I travel extensively. It's built high on a hill so the view is amazing and you are surrounded by trees and nature on all sides. The cabin interior is luxurious and comfortable, and the owners have paid attention to every detail. As an aside, it was also the cleanest cabin I've ever stayed in. There's a nice fire pit outside by the driveway but it was too hot to put that to good use, so I can't comment on that. But there was plenty of wood for next time!

I don't often write reviews, but when I receive exemplary service or stay somewhere truly remarkable, I like to share my experience with fellow travelers, and I appreciate it when they return the favor with their own honest reviews. So IMHO this cabin is worth every cent. As cliche as it sounds, you won't want to leave. I'll be back for sure - when the bass are biting!

Owner's Response: Mike, We are thrilled to exceed your expectations. Like you, we have many repeat guests that refuse to stay anywhere else in Beavers Bend and book their vacations around our openings. We are glad you enjoyed the privacy that Mountain Vista offers. We strategically purchased this property because it is the perfect combination of privacy, views and being so close to the lake and state park. Thanks for being a repeat guest. We were glad to arrange a fishing guide for your stay and will be happy to do so again. We hope you'll return soon.

We loved the location. It was very peaceful. The furniture was very comfortable. Our favorite room was the family room . It had beautiful windows surrounding the room which made you think you were in a tree house.
