For your safety, our property has 3 outdoor security cameras: 2 in the front yard (monitoring the entrance and driveway) and 1 in the backyard (overlooking the terrace). All cameras are exterior only and do not film indoor spaces. Your privacy is fully respected.

Tout s'est parfaitement bien passé. La maison est propre, super bien équipée et la personne qui s'occupe de l'accueil s'est montrée très disponible et sympathique. Un seul bémol. Le WIFI ne fonctionnait pas et pas de réseau alors une personne de notre groupe qui devait télétravailler n'a pas pu nous rejoindre....

Idéal pour une grande famille

Magnifique maison, grande, spacieuse, décorée avec beaucoup de goût. 5 chambres et 5 salles de bains.... idéal pour être tous prêt le matin. Équipements: rien ne manque, il y a même plus qu'il n'en faut. On a pu observer les écureuils dans les nombreux arbres de la propriété qui de plus est très bien entretenue. Parcours de santé à proximité. Je recommande +++

Séjour en famille

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans la maison de Karma. La maison est très spacieuse, très belle , rien ne manque au niveau électroménager, niveau vaisselle et linge de maison. La décoration est très recherchée et on se sent vraiment chez soi. Le grand jardin permet aux enfants de se dépenser. Il est très agréable. A 3 km de la maison on trouve magasin de producteurs et tous les commerces dont on peut avoir besoin. Les personnes chargées de la gestion de la maison sont charmantes et disponibles. Nous ne regrettons qu’une seule chose c’est qu’un nid de guêpes nous ait empêchés de profiter de la très belle terrasse 3 jours sur 7, de même que pour le barbecue qui ne fonctionnait pas et n’a pu être remplacé que le lundi . A ce niveau de prestation c’est dommage que tout n’ait pas été parfait.

Loved it.. but

We loved this house, stayed for 12 days and relaxed and ate and drank in the early French summer. We nearly didn’t book mainly because of the lack of reviews and the somewhat, what seemed to be clumsy correspondence back and forth to the owner that at time made no sense. The house is situated on a large block, stunning driveway on the outskirts of Saint Crepin et Carculet. The house has almost everything, gourmet kitchen with plentiful of everything and quality too, luxury bathrooms and more. On the negative side the TV is old, the door locking will drive you mad to the point where you leave the place unlocked and there is no music system or way to play such. Luckily we traveled with our apple tv and Google home. Even in early summer the house became quite warm in the afternoons, there are a couple of small fans that just don’t cut it. Needs many more. The garden is large but the surface is riddled with weeds, what grass there is almost dead and only the brave would venture without shoes in fear of needles in the foot. The rear concrete area is filthy dirty and in need of a good clean. The village of Saint Crepin et Carculet has no facilities at all, very very quiet but the next village of Salignac ( 4 kilometres away ) has everything you would need food wise, don’t get ripped off at the Sarlet markets, visit the producers market store in Salignat for everything. We had a great holiday, the owner needs to understand communication, Its important to understand that this property really doesn’t have a manager. The compendium is almost non existent, a couple of scribbles here and there, when the gas bottle emptied there was a note to call Fred the gardener, when we contacted Fred he said he hadn’t worked for the owner in years! Emails to the owner ( lives in USA ) regarding GPS co-ords for arrival location were not responded to as were others during our stay. 1 week after departure and we still don't have our security bond back. BUT loved this house, would love to come again.

Une très belle terrasse et un grand jardin ombragé ... Un séjour parfait dans une belle demeure de très grande qualité et au calme ! Les villages environnants ont tous les commerces nécessaires. Région et maison idéale pour des vacances en famille et entre amis. La propriétaire est fort sympathique et réactive, tout comme la personne en charge des entrées et sorties. Rien à reprocher, c’etait Parfait !

I live in Washington, D.C. with my wife and our two children, but this home in the Dordogne region of France holds a special place in my heart. Over 20 years ago, my mother—who was a single parent raising two kids in Oakland, California—decided to take us on a vacation to the French countryside. She wanted to immerse us in the language and culture while giving us space to breathe and explore. We fell in love with the area and returned to the same village for several summers. Eventually, she bought a piece of land and, brick by reclaimed brick, built this home with the help of both French and American architects.

After her recent passing, my sister and I began managing the property. Hosting has become more than just sharing a beautiful space—it’s about keeping her memory and vision alive. I enjoy welcoming guests because this house is full of stories, family, history, and love. It’s a deeply personal place that we hope brings others the same peace and joy it’s brought us.

The home is located in the heart of the Dordogne region, about 10 minutes from Sarlat-la-Canéda, one of France’s most beautifully preserved medieval towns. Though our village has a bakery and charming shops and markets. What I love most about this area is its warm, welcoming feel—neighbors who wave hello, fresh air, quiet mornings, and the deep sense of history that surrounds you.

Whether you’re wandering the cobbled streets of Domme or taking a day trip to castles like Beynac and Castelnaud—fortresses from the time of the Hundred Years’ War—you feel transported. Lascaux’s famous prehistoric caves are just 20 minutes away, and for the outdoor enthusiast, there are endless opportunities to bike, canoe, swim, or hike in nature. It’s a place where time slows down, and the land, food, and people nourish the soul.

What makes this property unique

This home is truly one of a kind—not just because of its design, but because of the story behind it. My mother and I built it from the ground up, using reclaimed materials from old barns and working closely with both French and American architects to blend local character with the comforts of modern living. Every detail was chosen with care—from the stone fireplace and handcrafted doors to the layout that allows for both privacy and togetherness.

Unlike many rentals, this isn’t a generic vacation house—it is a real family home, filled with decades of memories. It features five bedrooms and bathrooms, high-speed internet, cable TV, and a well-equipped kitchen, but more importantly, it feels warm and lived-in. The home is surrounded by peaceful woods with a garden perfect for relaxing, gathering, or even celebrating. It’s a place that honors the past while welcoming guests into something deeply personal, and that’s what makes it special.
