About the Property

4 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, Large Yard With A Pool.

Planning a trip to Lodi are you? What brings you? A wedding? Family event? Business? Or our fabulous wine, tasty restaurants and open roads?

Travelling is such a pain in the rear. Schedules, maps, GPSs, other people, impersonal hotel rooms with no place to hang out and visit, pools you have to share, too many rules, can’t cook your own food or have a simple piece of toast for breakfast.

So you find yourself looking at renting a house. Good call. If this is your first time, relax, I’ve got your back.

Welcome to Sandpiper Guest House. Your house, your schedule, your pool, your yard, your basketball court, your space. Eat when you want, eat what you want, grill, fry, bake, nuke. The coffee is on when you put it on. Visit with your friends and family: poolside, shooting some hoops, watching a movie, cooking a meal, grilling some steaks to perfection, sharing a bottle of wine without worrying about having to drive.

If it’s a family event that brings you to Lodi, staying at Sandpiper Guest House allows you to create the perfect blend of time with family and time alone.

If it’s wine you are after, staying at Sandpiper Guest House gives you a home base to work from and a beautiful place to prepare a meal and relax poolside while sipping a wine you’ve found and swapping stories with your travel companions. Fill the rooms with your closest friends.

If it’s business that brings you to Lodi, staying at Sandpiper Guest House will support you to be on your best game. Staying in a home encourages you to keep to your supportive morning and evening routines and gives you a place to unwind at the end of the day. The outdoor living area is the perfect place for a productive meeting.

Sandpiper is a completely updated suburban home. It sits on a large corner lot. A large black bottomed Pebbletec pool, large trees for afternoon shade, a lawn to run around on, a covered gazebo with seating for 7 and a coffee table. There is a propane grill and an outdoor dining area for evening meals as the cooling delta breeze comes up.

Inside is a roomy living room that gets its expansive feeling from a vaulted ceiling and a custom paper bag floor. A fully equipped gourmet kitchen updated with a spectacular poured-in-place concrete counter awaits your creations or your take out.

3 bedrooms have queen sized beds, 1 has a full bed. All are tastefully decorated without being cluttered.

Electricity is provided by the full solar panel array on the roof. The panels were installed in 2014 and pretty much power the house.

House Rules

No smoking in the house, no noise outside after 10 pm.

VRBOs and vacation rentals in general are an expanding 'thing' and as such have come to the attention of local regulatory bodies. It's complaints from neighbours over disruptive guests that have caused the regulatory bodies to start scrutinizing what we do with the aim to regulate or shut down the sharing economy. Please remember that not only have we invited you into our homes but we have invited you in to our neighborhoods. And while you may never see our neighbors again, we will. These are good people that live on either side, behind and in front of our home. Please limit your impact on them to a friendly hello. Please don't park in front of their houses or unreasonably disturb the peace and quiet afforded to you by this neighborhood. If you are looking to rent a party house, Sandpiper Circle is not it.

Funny, despite the above request for neighborly respect, we have had some problem guests. VRBO has now given home owners the ability to rate guests. Please know that a 'noise after 10 pm' complaint from a neighbor will result in a one star rating. No exceptions.

Owner info

Year Purchased: 2002

About the owner: Gord and I (Annette) moved stateside from Vancouver BC in 2001. We were seeking sun, wine and change. Gord says moving was our way to sidestep the dreaded 'midlife crisis.' Some people buy sports cars, some people have affairs, we moved countries. We loved Lodi from the first time we saw her.

Why the Owner Chose Lodi, CA, USA:
When we moved stateside we promised the boys a pool and a yard. And we needed a 4th bedroom to house my sewing studio. We have enjoyed 13 years in this home raising our boys, hosting summer BBQs, monthly wine tastings, upgrading and painting. My most recent projects were the paper bag floor, the denim floor, the front gate/fence and the solar panels. And then Wine Crest Estate found us. Oh well, now you get to enjoy the home we have created here.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
Lodi is right smack dab in the middle of the valley. Not only is it worth visiting for itself but you are only 1.5 to 2 hours from an amazing array of things to see and do. To the east is Lake Tahoe, the foothills and the mountains. To the west is San Francisco, the delta waterways, Sausalito, Napa Valley, Sonoma Valley and the Jelly Belly Factory. To the north, Sacramento, Thunder Valley Raceways, and Lodi Sky Diving.
