Our authentic log cabin was built in the early 1930's and has been newly restored. It is situated on nearly 300 peaceful acres along the Meramec River and has river frontage for you to enjoy. We have easy river access and a small gravel bar. Float trips by canoe or raft may be available by reservation for an additional fee. Bedroom #1 has a queen size bed, antique dresser, and a fireplace. The bunkroom has one full bed, one twin bed, and a set of bunk beds. The back porch dining hall seats 12 people and has plenty of room for games and activities (we have several to choose from or bring your own). There is a TV and VCR/DVD player (we have some movies too), but no cable or internet...PERFECT! The kitchen is stocked too! There is room to pitch a tent (or several for an additional fee)! Relax away from the stress in our quiet getaway and make many new memories. This place is the perfect place to get away from it all and 'rough it' while still enjoying the modern conveniences of home!

Cute country retreat
This cabin is well worth the stay. The road to the cabin is a little rough, but it opens up to a great peaceful view. There is plenty of room to feel like you have your own space, but do not get lost. The river is just a short drive around a field and has good fishing and swimming. The property owner is very nice and very accommodating.
Absolutely above everything we expected!!
For Old Times Sake Cabin is wonderful. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, perfectly placed fire pit for evening fun, I lovely indoors complete with room for both of our families to stay, it was an absolute delight. The cabinet self is absolutely adorable, each room decorated and equipped with anything you might need, including sheets towels pots pans and even a coffee maker. The dining room has more than enough room for everyone to sit if it’s too hot or raining, and the front porch is absolutely inviting. We loved every minute of our stay, and hope to come again next summer, because we liv The dining room has more than enough room for everyone to sit if it’s too hot or raining, and the front porch is absolutely inviting. We loved every minute of our stay, and hope to come again next summer, because The cabin is super close to the river, and is walking or driving distance down, and we would love to do a float trip, which we know is readily available by Elaines, the owners, neighbors. We would be very excited to include that in part of our trip next year, as we did enjoy taking our newly adopted dog down to the river, and she has officially become an outdoors dog. We were told before we even made the trip down about things that we could do nearby in town, and things that we could do at our cabin, and we were very appreciate of of all of Elaine’s help. We really enjoyed everything, I don’t have even one negative word to say about our trip, especially considering how welcoming Elaine was when I spoke with her. I had spoken with another VRBO in a neighboring town, and they were going to charge tons of extra money per person per day, making our fun little 3-day getaway cost an arm and a leg! Elaine Charged us a flat rate, and gave us a great deal on a lovely little cabin in the woods, and we cannot wait to come back. Our dog also made friends with her dogs, who apparently come down to the property because they think that anyone who comes to visit the property is there to visit them… Which I think should absolutely be true!! There was never a dull moment, and it was so memorable!!! Thank you, Elaine.
Comfortable, relaxing weekend
Loved the setting of the cabin! The owners were very nice and accommodating! It was a hot weekend so it was nice to
Have the river nearby!
Great family vacation spot!
The cabin was cozy and welcoming. Loved the outdoor space and the river was so close. Looking forward to going back, great for the family to unplug and spend quality time together.
Everything we needed
Our stay on “For Old Times Sake” was even more than we expected! The fun of camping with air conditioning, bathroom, and kitchen. And it is nicely secluded. Elaine did a great job explaining the accommodations ahead of time, making sure that we knew what to bring. We all, my husband, myself, our son and his girlfriend, enjoyed the grill and fire pit! There is easy access to the river, plus the neighboring outfitters picked us up at the cabin for our float trip and brought us back afterwards. How convenient! We had a great weekend!!
The cabin is beautiful and sits away from everything as a hidden gem. It’s a quick walk to the Meramec River. Our stay allowed our family to “disconnect” from the world. We truly enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning.
