South of Charente Maritime and half an hour from the beaches of Royan near Saintes, this property is set in a quiet area overlooking fields. Completely enclosed with a private heated swimming pool this stone house has been completely restored with everything you could wish for including fans, children's games,internet acces and wineand Cognac from local producer.It has tiled floors, lovely beams and a soft apricot colour everywhere. You will love the jacuzzi bath as well as a massage shower. From the sunny terrace you can have dinner overlooking the pool and countryside. Five minutes drive is Tesson, a charming village with a roman church and a little further Ognac and Pineau ( the local apéritif ) distilleries to be visited. The abbey of Saintes is really worth a visit as well as a boat trip on river Charente. Royan is know for the trendy shops and also has garden with collections of butterflies, as well as a casino and many restaurants along the sea.Ground floor: living dinning room with woodburner and corner kitchen. A relaxing family holiday

Sabrina and Nicholas could not have been more helpful. We felt relaxed and comfortable from the moment we arrived. It was the perfect venue for holidaying with small children as the grounds were so safe. We could open the door in the morning and let them play, without fear. The pool was safely secured which was wonderful. We will definitely be booking again for Summer 2025.

Jolie petite maison

Petite maison bien équipée. Le petit cadeau a l’arrivée a été très apprécié. Accueil très sympathique des propriétaires. Quelques précisions : il y a 2 toilettes dans la maison et 1 toilette dans la cabane près de la piscine. L’étage est mansardé donc mieux pour les enfants que pour les adultes. L’étage est un peu bruyant. Le gîte est à 15mn de Saintes et 30 mn de Cognac.

Charmante maison

Sabrina nous a accueillis avec des amis le temps d'un week-end pour un mariage qui se déroulait à proximité. Nous avons été conquis par le charme de la maison et notre hôte a été très aimable et arrangeante. La maison est propre, spacieuse et très bien équipée. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter !

Accueil très sympa des propriétaires avec petit cadeau en prime, visite du gîte qui est bien équipé à tout point de vue, il y a tout ce qu’il faut pour passer un bon week-end !!

Rural Charm

A very clean and well equipped property - everything we could possibly want was provided. The kitchen was particulaly well equipped, with fridge, freezer, micro-wave and dish washer, as well as hotplates and oven. Set on a quiet back road, privacy is ensured. The private parking and small children's play area, complete with slide and swing, were much appreciated. The owner welcomed us and was easily contactable. A slight problem wuith the pool cleaner was quickly rectified. The enormous outside table coped with 10 people easily and was much used, along with the barbecue. The children also appreciated the table tennis table in the garage. We enjoyed an excellent holiday (even if the sun stayed hidden!) - thank you.

What a fantastic holiday

The weather was hot, most of the time!! The gite is very beautiful, the pool was fantastic for adults and the children. A trip to La Rochelle + Royan is recommended and also Saintes where you can have a boat ride along the river, and is very historical. Thank you Francoise et Laurent
