Why Bruce Sanderson chose Cape May Point

We grew up around beaches and lakes in Ontario. Cape May and Cape May Point, with their pristine sandy shores and small town atmosphere bring back those memories—of family, friends and summer. After the end of a perfect day, we enjoy the magnificent sunsets either on the beach or from the privacy of our deck.

If you are discovering Cape May and Cape May Point for the first time, we hope our home recreates those memories for you and offers many more memorable moments. If you already know the area, we want our home to be your personal getaway in Cape May Point.

We are also nature lovers. Cape May Point offers one of the best places in the country for observing migrating birds. Our home is located at the “point of the Point,” an exceptional place to see your feathered friends and near the Cape May Bird Observatory.

Pleasant, calm and breezy getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a very relaxing week at the Dunes. Located in a quiet corner of Cape May, a beach of dunes, green glassy ocean waves, and few other bathers lay across the street. The large deck overlooks the tree-filled dunes. It was heaven to drink a cup of coffee there in the morning.

Our second stay at The Dunes

  • 5 of 5

This house has everything that you might need at the beach. The location is perfect with the ocean only steps away and Cape May a short drive. You can walk to the Red Store and ride the bikes to Beach Plum Farm for a tasty lunch. We had a great week and will be returning.

Quiet Cape May Point Townhouse

  • 4 of 5

We spent a week at this very nice beach home with our three adult children. The house is perfectly located on a quiet corner across the street from a beach access path. From property door to the beach is about an 8 to 10 minute walk over a dune & down to the quiet, family oriented beach. The beach water/waves are very placid with very little wave action, so if you are into boogie boarding, this beach is not the best bet. Beaches a short walk or bike ride north have more wave action. This house is a well kept, well stocked, very clean townhouse (vertical duplex) with three floors & private bedrooms. There is a full bath on all three floors with at least a shower. Pride of ownership is apparent. The townhouse owners next door do not rent & the owners of that unit are sometimes there (during our stay, they were there for 2 nights). There are two shared decks with the other neighboring townhouse (one partitioned the other just openly shared) which to me, was the only awkward aspect related to this home. Shawn & Bruce - the owners, are lovely folk who are willing to do what it takes to make your stay great. I would recommend renting this home & we are considering coming back again! Thanks Shawn & Bruce!

Cape May Point is where it's at!

  • 5 of 5

This house is just as lovely as it looks and even better situated that the pictures show: walk across the street, up some stairs, and you are on the (stunning, wide-open, renews-your-faith-in-God) beach. Which is not crowded. The house was clean and spacious and well-stocked and the owners were pleasant and gracious. There are multiple decks, including one that's perfect to watch the sunset with a glass of wine.

The little neighborhood of Cape May Point is cute as a button, with only one local business (for coffee, breakfast, and lunch). The Dunes is a nice distance from the wineries and the infamous road-side bread store (the ginger-chocolate bread was pretty shocking and I still dream about it), as well as the lighthouse and the bird watching sanctuary. Also within a quick drive to Cape May, where I started each morning by sending my spouse off to a massage at a different place each time while I hobnobbed with the locals at the friendliest yoga class at Cape May Yoga before heading to the coffee shop below (you get a discount with your yoga mat!).

I want to personally thank the fine owners of The Dunes for renting out their beautiful home to us; I can't imagine staying anywhere else down the shore.

Great week at the Point

  • 5 of 5

This was our third time vacationing in Cape May Point and The Dunes was definitely the best house we've stayed at yet. We had a lovely week enjoying gorgeous weather and all of the offerings of Cape May Point as well as Cape May proper. The house was nicely furnished, clean, and had everything that we needed or wanted for the week. The best feature is the gorgeous outdoor terrace. Other than if it were right on the beach, the location of the house is perfect. Bruce was a delight to deal with, from his quick response to my initial email to meeting us in person upon arrival and providing a lovely bottle of wine to welcome us. Highly recommend a stay here.

Second year in a row at "The Dunes"

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year at "The Dunes" and we loved it just as much, if not more this year! The house is just perfect for our family, and we can bring our dog. We loved the beach, the neighborhood, the house, etc. The weather was a bit hotter this year, but the house was nice and cool. The front desk is a beautiful little piece of paradise with all the flowers. We watched hummingbirds coming to check out the beautiful flowers on the deck. All-in-all a perfectly relaxing week for the whole family!!
