About Rosalie Crofford

We have lived in the Comox Valley most of our lives and owned this property since the early 1960's. In 2012 the cottage was rebuilt from the foundation up so it is new, modern, comfortable and a great place to relax and unwind. We wanted to share it's beauty.

Rosalie Crofford purchased this cottage in 1960

Why Rosalie Crofford chose Comox Valley

We love and appreciate nature, quiet, the ocean, the mountain views and above all privacy therefore this was the perfect property for us, which we now wish to share with others.

What makes this cottage unique

The views, sound of the ocean lapping on the shore, watching the wildlife and cruise ships (in season) go by along with the peace and serenity make this an enjoyable place to kick back, relax and enjoy life.

Fabulous!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was the perfect venue for our two week stay in the Courtenay area to visit with family and friends. It is cozy, comfy, well equipped and comes complete with a wonderfully idyllic setting. We were entertained daily by a large raft of male sea lions who drifted back and forth on the changing tides just off-shore (this was a bonus), along with a resident eagle and heron on a constant hunt for their next meal.

We will be back to Courtenay for more visits, and plan to book this cottage again.

An almost perfect place to relax. So quiet! Good wildlife viewing, convenient to good walks

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is clean and very well stocked with all the essentials (as well as extras) and has comfortable beds. It is an approximately 15 minute drive to Comox and is a good jumping off place to access the nearby beaches and shopping.

I have 3 suggestions for improvement. First, the hot tub pump and/or heater is very loud-loud enough to wake a person. As the hot tub is directly outside of the master bedroom, this was an issue for us. I like to sleep with the windows open to hear the ocean. Second, cereal bowls would be a good addition in the kitchen, as would a spatula for the BBQ. Finally, I would have appreciated a blow dryer. Of course none of these things prevented us from thoroughly enjoying ourselves. We would recommend the cottage in a heartbeat.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We are pleased you enjoyed the property. Thank you for your suggestions we will act on the ones we are able to. We cannot do much about the hot tub except suggest you turn it down to a lower temperature at night and wait for it to come to temperature the next day. We appreciate you choosing the cottage for your vacation and hope you will be able to return in the future.

Amazing adorable summer cottage !

  • 5 of 5

Every little touch did not go unnoticed ! From the fresh cut flowers in the bathroom and kitchen to the Ice cream sandwhiches in the freezer for my kids. Everything we needed was there all we needed was fridge food. The pictures for this place does it no justice. Much bigger in person. Loved loved it !

Much better in real life

  • 5 of 5

We visited from Australia as a family of 4 for a family wedding being held locally. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and highly recommend the cottage. A few things:

- the photos do not do justice to the cottage or the views you see from the cottage.

- the view is amazing. Waterfront to the Salish Sea and across to the snow capped peaks.

- the wildlife out the front is great to watch; Bald Eagles, Seals, Otters and other birdlife.

- the location is quiet allowing you to enjoy what nature alone provides. Only noise really is the ocean and the hot tub where at night you can watch the cruise liners go past.

Any needs we had were dealt with in a timely manner. As we now have family here we will be back. Hard to beat for the money.

Nice clean cottage. Quiet location.

  • 4 of 5

The BBQ was old and rusty, covered in bird droppings. Should be replaced. Also picture showed table and chairs for outside dining. Did not exist. Also could be better beach access. The inside of cottage nice and clean with tile floors (great for pets).

Large clean cabin definitely big enough for 4 people, or in our case 2 people and 4 dogs.

  • 5 of 5

Our days in this cabin were very enjoyable.

It was big bright clean and modern.

The view was spectacular.

The peace and quiet we were hoping for we found in abundance.

Watching the seals, whales, birds and marine traffic was fascinating.

We made a bit of a game out of guessing the name of the cruise ships going by.

Bobby was a gracious host, his workmanship in this cabin is amazing.

The fresh flowers on the table were a nice little extra.

We surely hope to return some day.
