A wonderful place for our family while in the area for a wedding! The house is so well stocked, including well stocked kitchen cupboards and even a "junk drawer" with some handy but often forgotten items!Would definately stay here again if ever back in the area!

The Tummel House is peaceful and quiet, and we enjoyed our stay. It's close to Roblin and surrounded by interesting areas to explore. Thank you, Diane, for making our visit memorable.
This property is very relaxing and was a joy to stay at. Everything was clean and perfect.
The house is very large and the yard was impeccable. Would definitely stay again if we are back in the area
Great location and size for our family ski vacation
The house was charming. Our family enjoyed checking out this historical home. There was plenty of space to kick back and relax. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything we might need including a crockpot and wine glasses!
We brought a bluetooth speaker to enjoy some backgroung music while playing board games late into the night. (The house had some board games too but we brought some family favourites.)
Would stay here again if we do another ski vacation with our family.

The property was beautiful and Diane did an excellent job at communicating with us. She was very clear, friendly and promptly replied to any questions we had. During our stay we enjoyed playing bocce, driving R/C cars, playing Frisbee and walking around in the large yard. Nearby we also rented kayaks, went to a beach, went fishing, went biking and enjoyed some other activities in the nearby town of Roblin. Thank you Diane for providing a lovely stay!
We stayed early Jan 2025. Spent a half day on the ski hill. Not to far and nice warm place to come back to after braving the cold with the kids. We found the Tummel House to be what we expected. Only thing that we wished was on-site was a first-aid kit and I must have misread the ad because I thought there was a wood fireplace (they have an older electric one which the kids liked reading in front of. The four 2nd floor bedrooms and large dinning room table close to the kitchen were exactly what we needed for our family.Owners seemed nice and the check in process was really easy. We appreciated that someone thought to leave out 1 extension cord with power already to it for our van. When we arrived around 11:30pm. I would indeed recommend this home for a winter rental. Thank you. Ray

Beautiful Secluded Clean Homey Historic Vacation Home
I stayed here for the weekend of my wedding. It was more than I had even expected. The home is historic, well cared for, clean and secluded. It is so nice to just sit outside and enjoy your morning coffee in the beautifully landscaped yard, or gather in the living room for a quiet evening. The bedrooms are gorgeous and roomy, and each room offers unique style and history. Waking up to the birds singing and the gently breeze blowing was wonderful. Diane, the owner, was wonderful and very considerate.

August 20 - 27, 2011 - A week to remember!
Great house, great yard, perfect weather for the week and any word I can find would not do this property justice.
I grew up in the country and this just brought back such vivid memories of what a good quality of life we had growing up in the 50s. We played games in the yard and enjoyed the fire pit and the beautiful prairie sunsets which so reminded us all that there is nothing to match a prairie sky at dusk.
The owners of this property have been super to deal with and the house is immaculate as is the yard itself.
We simply were four friends in our fifties looking to spend quality time together catching up on life in general. We do this once a year - last year we spent at a golf course property in Lethbridge AB. Alas - this year we got it right. This was by far a superior week to that one in very respect and we were still close to some great golf courses. There is no doubt that anyone looking for some peaceful and memorable days would have no problem getting their wishes granted at Tummel House.
Well done to the owners - you have a gem right here in Manitoba and we truly feel blessed to have been there for a week. We left with absolutely nothing but good things to say about it.
Thanks very much for sharing it with those of us who are not so fortunate to own such a property.

Thank you Susan!
Like Susan and her friends, we are constantly booking guests from across western Canada and beyond (England, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ontario). The property is very unique -- the first time you turn the corner into the yard, you know you have found something special. Our hope is that our guests consider Tummel House their home and enjoy it as much as we do. Diane and Art Owners
We have been having this annual event for a number of years now, and the Tummel House was by far the best place we have stayed.
The house itself is amazing, not to mention the large immaculate grounds, lots of room for playing frisbies and having a bon fire with out distribing other guests, as it is so private.
The fishing was great, we caught well over 100 walleyes in about 18 hours of fishing, and there is a public boat launch about 5 min. away from the house.
I booked it for next year the day I arrived home ......what a great find !!!
This response is typical of so many others that are written in our guest book at Tummel house. We have great guests who return year after year to enjoy Tummel House - with its charming character, fire pit and beautiful grounds. Fishing at Lake of the Prairies IS fantastic!! In winter, skiing is equally fun and is located close by at Asessippi Ski Hill. Hunting is also fantastic in the autumn. There are so many opportunities to explore and enjoy the area, and then return to your beautiful private home in the evenings. Tummel House is "Home Away from Home" for many people.

Owners
Hi! I'm Diane. I am happy to say that I own and manage the beautiful property we call "Tummel House". It is located in the farming community of Tummel - where I grew up (I live in Regina now). My family (two brothers) live just minutes away, as do my nieces and nephews. My husband and I, and our two sons, love this place and feel very fortunate to be able to stay there when it is not rented out. As a friend once said, it is "a little piece of heaven". We hope you will love it as much as we do.
