Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Sunroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6)

This lovely, newly remodeled cabin on the hill top of Lake Byllesby is a great get-a-way or vacation only 40 minutes from the Twin Cities and 45 minutes from Rochester. The lake is a hidden gem for sailing, fishing and boating. The view from the cabin overlooks 2000 acres of undeveloped boyscout land so the view is amazing. As you look at the lake, the left side is a public park with boat landing. This makes it a quiet and private lot on the lake.

Relax on the deck with a book and binoculars in hand to watch soaring eagles, woodpeckers, blue birds, Herons and White Pelicans.

There is an outdoor dining table with 4 chairs, 2 lounge chairs with cushions, 2 adirondak chairs and a hammock for your use. Walk down to the dock for some sunning, canoeing or fishing. Enjoy the warmth of the fire pit overlooking the lake, toast marsh mellows, tell stories and simply just relax.

The layout of the cabin is very clean and simple. 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath, laundry area, sun room, living room and kitchen. The yard is big enough to play football, badminton, volleyball, bean bag toss. We have a horse shoe terrace.

There is also a flower garden and herb garden for your use. We have recently purchased a canoe and paddle boat for your enjoyment.

About Dawn & Mike Snow

We enjoy the great outdoors, family, friends and our pets. We fell in love with the Cabin on Lake Byllesby, the local area and the friendly people.

Dawn & Mike Snow purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Dawn & Mike Snow chose Cannon Falls

Centrally located to casinos, culture, hiking, wine country, water-sports, antiquing, the Minneapolis / St. Paul area, Rochester, Northfield (St. Olaf & Carlton), snow-mobile trails, hiking, skiing, golfing etc.

What makes this cabin unique

Love the easy access to the beach and lake living. It is 3 minutes to the best of golf courses. Wine tasting is right in town. We enjoy just BBQing, making a fire and relaxing. In the mornings I love to take the dogs for a walk to the park and along the nearby hiking trails right out the door. Watching the deer, golden finches, cardinals, humming birds.....

Very well maintained, clean, comfortable cabin on Lake Byllesby

  • 5 of 5

This property was the perfect get away for my family and pets while our hardwood floors were being refinished at our home in Rochester. It is a nice space on the water with all the comforts of home, satellite tv, dvd player, washer and dryer, dishwasher, etc. The deck and fire pit are perfect for relaxing, enjoying the water view and watching the moon rising. It is right next to the boat launch and there is a large grassy area for the dog to run around and wade into the water. There were a lot of mosquitoes, but this is Minnesota so bring your bug spray. My husband took out the kayak and enjoyed touring the lake. The beds are comfortable and the cabin is roomy. We also enjoyed a surprisingly good Mexican restaurant, Rancho Loco, a short drive into Cannon Falls. We liked it so much we ate there every day, and after dinner walked the Cannon Falls trails. One day it rained all day so we found a Redbox in Cannon Falls and watched movies and baked brownies back at the cabin. Very peaceful and relaxing. I highly recommend this cabin.

Clean, Comfortable Cabin with amazing views!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Mike and Dawn for letting us have a much needed sister's get away weekend at your cabin. Everything was great! The cabin is so clean and had everything we needed and the views were amazing. It was nice having access to the canoe & paddleboat to get out on the lake. With 90+ degree days, it was nice to get out on the water(and the a/c in the cabin worked great!). We appreciate you working with us and calling to check on how everything was. We are definitely hoping to come back for another sister's weekend next year.

3rd TIMES A CHARM!

  • 5 of 5

This is our 3rd time "vacationing" with the Snow's @ their Lovely Cabin! We love the solitude of this wonderful cabin. Starting the mornings off right with a cup of coffee on the deck over looking the beautiful lake, sitting in the afternoon with a board game and then finishing off the night with a fire, looking up at the stars and having the peace and quiet of the night. All you need to bring is your clothes and food and everything else is thought of in this "home away from home" cabin! Mike & Dawn are wonder to work with, from the quick response via email to the phone call you get when you arrive!

We look forward to our get away from year to year and we will be back next year!! Thanks Again!

Really pretty, quiet & tranquil

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here! House was well appointed, and the scenery was just beautiful. We loved going out on the lake in the kayak and canoe. Sat out by the firepit and enjoyed the day.

If you are a tall person (my husband is 6'5"), beware that part of the house is quite short - there is a hallway from the entry of the house/laundry area that is about 6' tall. The main living space is normal height. :)

We'd definitely come visit here again if we were in the area. It was great to be in a quiet lakeside cabin and just a half hour from the Twin Cities and Mall of America.
