The accommodation includes a self-contained flat, never let separately. It is surrounded by 5 acres of terraces, sensitively landscaped gardens, olive groves, fruit trees, & a private pool with spectacular panoramic views. There are 3 outdoor eating areas including a shady pergola & a scented loggia. The house is well furnished, with a fully equipped, recently modernised kitchen, a large dining room and a sitting room, once a small chapel. It offers extensive entertainment resources in the form of books, movies, piano, TV, wi-fi, a games room with snooker/pool, table tennis & darts, & a boules court. It is perfectly located for combining visits to the many historic towns in central Italy with peaceful relaxation in unspoilt rural surroundings.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This place "Your second home" has been a true find for us - it has everything we need for a chilled holiday. We are rather boring people to some as we go on holiday to relax, cook and eat good food and drink good wines. We have found this all here and a great kitchen that makes me feel at home.

I am going to need more storage on my iPad considering the number of photographs I have taken of the house and your magnificent garden.

There is no central heating, but a variety of other ways of heating the house in cold weather. There are two pellet burning stoves, an open log fireplace, two wood-burning stoves (a woodshed), and a number of gas heaters. There are also electric blankets for really cold nights! In all the bedrooms there are pull-down mesh screens on the windows, for those times of the year when there are insects in action. There are four different places to eat - one indoors and three outdoors, all of which can seat at least ten people. Special arrangements can be made for cooking, baby sitting, and extra cleaning. There is a large separate games room with table tennis, snooker, pool and darts; plus a boule court outside. There is a piano in the house.

idyllic house, beautifully restored

  • 5 of 5

the house itself is full of character and beautifully furnished, with lovely rugs and interesting old pieces. There is even a piano which has a nice tone and is in tune! The kitchen is terrific - we found all the gadgets we wanted and there is plenty of fridge space.

The house is on lots of levels and has little staircases and passage ways - full of interest and surprise, with a wonderful wide landing leading into a huge high-ceilinged, upstairs sitting room.

The outside eating places are many and varied - everywhere pots of tumbling flowers and walls hanging with blossoming climbers. The garden flows between different levels and has great views, lots of comfy seating in shade and sun and a tinkling water trough - very soothing!

So many great little towns to visit nearby.

Perfect Umbrian holiday villa for all types of holiday person : active or lounging

  • 5 of 5

The house, gardens and pool exceeded our expectations in loveliness. The house and gardens were blisssfully peaceful and lounging on the terraces was gorgeous. It was also raucously good fun messing around in the lovely big pool. Great area for walks, nature, food and sightseeing.

The house is characterful and very well equipped for all sorts of entertainment.

The house instructions were very easy to follow and help was always on hand.

Great great great!

  • 5 of 5

We were a party of 10 (inc 4 children under 6) and thoroughly enjoyed the villa, its facilities, its feel and its location. The pool was great - steps for the littlest ones, shallow enough for the younger ones and deep enough for diving for the bigger kids. The space around it was much appreciated too. The villa was fascinating and had everything we needed to be entertained without compromising on comfort. It is obviously a well loved family home. The flowers and vegetation were stunning. We particularly savoured the views over the Tuscan hills each evening - a lovely spot to watch the moon rise. We enjoyed a visit to Lake Trasimeno and to nearby restaurants inc with vineyards too.

A place you will never forget!

  • 5 of 5

Vasciano and the surrounding area will take your breath away. This fall (2016) will be our 13th visit. If you have time, a two week stay is perfect as you can relax at home and explore the area leisurely. The house is perched up on a hill with gorgeous views of the surrounding valley and mountains. Very private but a short drive to all of your needs. Three dining areas outside - 2 covered. And that is not including all of the space around the pool. The landscaping is beautiful and the house itself is very clean, modern gourmet kitchen, washer/dryer, comfy beds, formal dining room. I wouldn't change a thing. The local caretaker (speaks perfect English) is available nearby but we have never needed her. If you can get yourself to leave the property, visit Gubbio, Montone, Cita di Costello, a few of the hidden gems. And the restaurant Mimi's in nearby Mercatale is an inexpensive experience. Go hungry, they just keep bringing food (no menu). You will have a great holiday!

Perfect holiday villa

  • 5 of 5

This is our third visit to Vasciano and we will keep on coming back. The setting ie beautiful, the house is well equipped and comfortable whilst remaining homely. We have brough young children and teenagers and there is plenty to entertain them, with the pool, play area, games room and extensive DVD and board games collections.

I have been to many holiday villas and I can honestly say that nothing beats this one.

The perfect Italian hideaway.

  • 5 of 5

The pictures and description of Vasciano, on the website, do not do it justice. When we walked through that little pair of wrought iron gates, at the entrance, the only thing we could think of, was Wow!!! and if somewhere has the wow factor, it certainly is this property. The facilities and equipment for exceeded our expectations, it was like being at home, in Italy. The outside space, for a large family gathering, was extremely well thought out. It gave us the opportunity to find some quality quiet time to relax, read or simply just enjoy the stunning views and it was also great for getting together to enjoy all the local produce, that we very adeptly turned into some fantastic meal times, not forgetting the local wines. Take a trip to 'I Girasoli Di Sant' Andrea' and you will see what we mean. The property was spotless in its presentation, the gardens lush and well kept and the various herbs were a nice addition to our evening meals. The owners were very helpful and supportive in our preparations before our trip to Vasciano and the representative there was only a phone call away. We would recommend this property to family, friends and in fact, anyone going to Italy. The location of the property, albeit off the beaten track, was quite central to visit some of Central Italy's most beautiful sights.

Walkers & riders love the spectacular views all around. Along the valley and on some hilltops are small villages, with numerous places to eat good local food & wine. To see the sights of Rome & Florence, day trips by train are quick and easy, whereas Siena, Urbino & Orvieto are possible by car.
