We absolutely LOVED our stay here. The home was beautiful with incredible views. The hosts were incredibly kind and our tour of the ranch was a highlight!! Seeing the elk and bison just made our trip. Highly recommend for a memorable stay! We will be back!
We absolutely loved this property. Our hosts were kind and communicative. The property, setting, and accommodations were very special. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning soon.
We stayed one night with our two kids and really loved this ranch property. The house was clean and comfortable. The property had wide open spaces for kids to play, gorgeous views of the mountains and we got to see elk and buffalo on their farm.
Stayed for two nights with a friend. The property was clean and updated. The bed with very comfortable. The best part is the property itself. The grounds and the views are relaxing and beautiful taking it all in on the porch. We’ll definitely be back!
We stayed in the cabin for 5 days and used it as a base camp to explore the San Juan mountains. We day tripped to Telluride, Ouray, Silverton, and Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The cabin was very nice and in a perfectly secluded area with a wonderful patio to relax and soak up the mountain air! Highly recommend. We will stay here again!
Hands down best location to stay in the Montrose area. Such a peaceful and beautiful place to stay. Comfortable cabin on an Elk ranch and great communication with the host.
We were so very pleased with this place. It's exactly what we were looking for. It's secluded and has the perfect area for kids to run and play. It's beautiful and my daughter said "our cabin" was one of her favorite parts of our trip. The host were very easy to get in touch with. We plan on coming back to Colorado sooner than we thought and we 100% will be staying here again. I couldn't recommend it enough
Just as advertised. A short drive away from the city but just enough to feel far away from it all. You are situated at the top of a hill overlooking Montrose miles away. The staff was very friendly. Every day you get to walk outside of your rental and see elk and bison on the ranch. What a special treat! The house was very clean and roomy. Only a few minutes drive away from Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP!
Incredibly close to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison! The property is beautifully placed at the top of a hill, with gorgeous views of Montrose and the surrounding areas. We enjoyed seeing the bison and elk that were on the property. The house itself is clean and well maintained, with excellent high speed WiFi.
Lovely 3 Bdrm. Ranch with great views of the mountains and a bluff lookout over Montrose area. The children loved playing on the wide expansive lawn. Enjoyed seeing the Elk, Cows and Buffalo in the morning. Definitely would stay here again very relaxing and can see why they host weddings and events at this location.

Beautiful setting....
This was great house in an immaculately kept place! Gorgeous! If our travels take us here again, we'll stay here again. I can see why this would be a favorite spot for weddings. Watching the elk was a bonus as well. The kitchen is well-stocked and the beds are luxurious....just waiting for your time here. We loved it!
My husband and I were traveling with another couple, and we were all very happy with this property. We like to stay away from town, and this property certainly fits that criteria. We enjoyed the privacy, and we enjoyed seeing the elk and the buffalo. We sat outside after dark and watched the moon, the stars, and the satellites going over as we listened to the elk bugling. The property was very clean and well taken care of. The hosts were friendly and easy to work with.

Beautiful quiet setting - close proximity to Black Canyon
We loved our stay on the ranch! The accommodations were perfect for us - lovely clean and spacious. There was a well-stocked kitchen for cooking your own meals. Hosts were SO helpful and welcoming! We and our kids loved staying on a ranch and riding bikes around to explore and visit the animals. We enjoyed lots of relaxing time on the front porch and our kids had plenty of play time in the large front yard. Its about a 15 minute drive to Black Canyon National Park, which we found to be a wonderful place to visit. Thank you!
Beautiful property and very peaceful. We arrived later than intended and didn’t have much time there. The host very kindly called us to check on us when it was close to dark and we didn’t arrive. The property was down a dirt road and a little more off the beaten path than anticipated but if we hadn’t arrived after dark I’m sure it wouldn’t have been a problem. The house is comfortable and homey and the property was lovely.
We needed a place to stay after visiting Black Canyon National Park. I didn't realize we were booking a little oasis that would be a highlight of our trip. We've been traveling for over a week and it was so nice to spend the night in a place that felt so much like home. Beautifully decorated and cozy, this home is a delight. But the highlight is, by far, the view from the windows. We saw a herd of buffalo meander by while we ate breakfast. Bunnies hop through the yard. The ranch is gorgeous and a nice place to sit outside and stargaze at night. I recommend stopping in Montrose on your way in to pick up some supplies since it's about a 15 minute drive to restaurants and you won't want to leave this beautiful place to go back to town. If I had it to do again I would bring some cream so I could brew a pot of coffee and sit on the porch and sip a cup while I watched the sun rise and the ranch wake up.

Awesome Star Gazing; Easy Access to Black Canyon (south rim); but, Home needs some TLC
Great spot for start gazing, even saw the Milky Way! ...and the surrounding property is beautiful with lots of areas to lay on the grass and relax (when the sprinklers are not on)...and walk out to see the animals - bison, elk, horse, and cows. We rented this home for our visit to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP and access to the south rim was very convenient.
However, the 'house' could use some TLC and the amenities were disappointing. I found a few spiders in the main bedroom...and yikes, one landed on me while laying in bed. It is important to note that since the house is using well water (which I missed when reading previous reviews), if you're hiking and planning to fill up your camelbak, you'll need to do so at the NP or elsewhere. However, there were some bottled water for everyday drinking.
The sprinklers were on constantly, making it a little difficult to relax on the grass, but we were not expecting it to 'hit us' while sitting on the front porch...
The host provided great recommendations to purchase Elk Steaks/Bacon/etc. at the family's butcher shop in Montrose..and once the missing propane tank was found and hooked up to the grill, we enjoyed a delicious evening dinner!
Very nice property. Very unique-we enjoyed the peace and quiet, seeing the animals, and being the only people there. Sitting on the porch was our favorite! It’s a quick drive to Black Canyon and to Montrose. The owners are so nice. We would love to visit again!
I can't say enough great things about the Welcome Ranch! Cabin was clean and sooo comfy, the view was stunning and the owners even gave us a tour of the place! This is an Elk ranch and they also have Buffalo as well as a Wedding Venue. It's quiet, peaceful and so relaxing. You are surrounded by mountains and the sunset is beautiful! I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Don't hesitate to book the cabin here you will absolutley love it!!!
