SituĂ© dans un bĂątiment conventuel datant du XVe siĂšcle, le GĂźte du Grenier Ă  grains est localisĂ© Ă  l’arriĂšre de la superbe Salle capitulaire de l’Abbaye.

RestaurĂ© avec passion, ce gĂźte 4**** vous offre une prestation de charme et de luxe, un savoureux mĂ©lange de tradition (pierre apparente, poutraison en chĂȘne, tomettes, mobilier ancien) et de confort moderne (Ă©quipements, mezzanines, escalier).

Une cuisine moderne, full-Ă©quipĂ©e et munie d’un Ăźlot central, jouxte un trĂšs agrĂ©able salon. Ce dernier, Ă©quipĂ© d’un mobilier confortable et d’équipement technique adaptĂ© (TV/DVD) comprend un petit bar qui donne, par une baie ouverte Ă  l’amĂ©ricaine, sur la cuisine. Espace et lumiĂšre sont au rendez-vous !

Un escalier circulaire mĂšne Ă  un Ă©tage organisĂ© en open-space oĂč se cĂŽtoient une superbe salle de bain Ă  baignoire centrale et douche Ă  jets, une grande chambre (lit double et lit gigogne) et un WC sĂ©parĂ©. La salle de bain est surmontĂ©e d’une seconde chambre (lit double) en mezzanine. L’énorme poutraison et les vieilles pierres confĂšrent un charme trĂšs particulier Ă  ce vaste espace Ă  la fois moderne et historique.

Wonderful place in an idyllic setting.

A truly fabulous week in a stunning setting. The Gite was so beautifully designed and set within the stunning grounds of the abbey. The boys loved the great swimming pool and Marc and Christine couldn’t have been better hosts. The tips and local knowledge were really appreciated and we were very grateful to Marc for taking us out in the jeep. Just wish now we had been able to book for longer. Many Thanks , Paul & Vicky

We could not even stay one night. No refund.

Bathroom and bedroom open plan. No door on the toilet! Thick beam 1.5m from the ground to get to the bed. At 5'2" I had to duck my husband at over 6' - impossible. Specified a tall husband and they didn't mention it. Door to adjoining property with such large gaps around it - this is a public room and you will be able to hear men urinating. Hosts refused any refund. Our holiday ruined!

Beautiful gite, beautiful setting

Over the years I have stayed at numerous gives all over France, with varying degrees of satisfaction. So I don't give out 5 stars very often. This gite deserves every one of them. It is in a stunning setting, it has personal privacy and all mod cons one could possibly ask for. It is situated in an excellent position for visits to most of the popular sites in the Loire Valley. Here I should mention the owners, Marc and Christine who went out of their way to be helpful and welcoming, but were never intrusive. Marc came around with a local map and spent time telling us about some of the lesser known places to visit that we would never have found on our own. On a practical note, the swimming pool is gorgeous and our gite La Porterie was right next to it,though not intrusively so. The Abbaye ruins are quite beautiful and we had a most informative guided tour with Marc of the Abbaye and the grounds. I cannot recommend this gite highly enough - it ticks every box.

"Une semaine de PĂąques baignĂ©e de soleil au pied de l''Abbaye. Endroit mĂȘlant calme, sĂ©rĂ©nitĂ© et histoire, gĂ©rĂ© de main avertie par la sympathique Famille Gribomont. La visite historique, les balades en 4x4 dans la rĂ©gion, le petit rosĂ© au bord de la piscine chauffĂ©e, les discussions agrĂ©ables, la gentillesse et l''acceuil de toute la famille ont fait de ce sĂ©jour un moment privilĂ©giĂ© pour Anne, Julie, Arthur et moi-mĂȘme. La rĂ©gion regorge de sites captivants, nous aurons certainement l''occasion d''y repasser avec plaisir pour profiter du Grenier Ă  Grain et de son confort sans faille. "Nous avons passĂ© une semaine fort agrĂ©able en compagnie de Marco et Christine, propriĂ©taires fort sympathiques, dans un lieu paisible et atypique. Traumhafter Urlaub in außergewöhnlicher Unterkunft

Wir hatten 2 wunderschöne Wochen bei Marc und Christine, die unheimlich nett und hilfsbereit sind. Das Kloster ist eine ganz außergewöhnliche Kulisse fĂŒr einen Urlaub. Das Ferienhaus ist sehr sauber und bestens ausgestattet, uns hat nichts gefehlt. Der Pool ist ebenfalls sehr sauber und lĂ€dt zum Schwimmen ein. Ein besonderes Erlebnis waren die Ausfahrten mit dem Jeep, zu denen Marc uns eingeladen hat. Der Sternenhimmel mit Milchstraße (!!!) war ĂŒberwĂ€ltigend! Durch die Abgeschiedenheit konnten wir perfekt entspannen, dazu hat auch beigetragen, dass wir fĂŒr guten Handyempfang ein paar Meter vor die HaustĂŒr gehen mussten. Da legt man das Handy eher mal weg ;-) Wir haben viele gute Tipps fĂŒr AusflĂŒge in die nĂ€here und weitere Umgebung und fĂŒr Restaurants bekommen. Vielen Dank auch fĂŒr die Hilfe mit unserem Auto! Wir kommen gerne wieder und können dieses Feriendomizil wĂ€rmstens empfehlen!

Great GĂźte with a mix of culture history and design

We had a wonderful summer stay as a family in this Güte. It is a mix of culture and history with design. It offers quite and nature while being close to many castles and other activities nearby. The hosts Christine and Marc were very welcoming and offered help and advice on how to explore the Abbey and its surroundings. They made our stay extra pleasant with special tips, tours and were always there to help. We enjoyed our stay and the region very much and can’t wait to get back.

Best of Touraine and Poitou

In strange Covid-19 summer we spent amazing and relaxing holidays in the historic monument of Abbaye-St-Michel-de-Bois-Aubry. Christine and Marc are perfect hosts, thanks again for the warm welcome, your kind hospitality, the magnificent Jeep safari and abbey tour, lot of tips for excursions and culinary highlights and for being available when ever needed. The house is really unique, giving us charming accommodation for 14 days, providing enough space for four of us on three open levels. I never hit one of the countless wooden beams within this former agricultural building, even in the night! But people should know each other, there is not one door inside! The beds, bedclothes and linen are comfortable. The free-standing bathtube is stylish in fact, of course we took a bath although there is a multi-nozzle-shower as well! The kitchen is well equipped, quantity of dinnerware and cutlery is sufficient for utilisation of the dishwasher. The living room is quite comfortable with two couches, but used seldom in summertime. Outside sitting area is surrounded by hedges, providing privacy. The swimming pool is quite big and well maintained, sunbeds are available. There are several suites in the park area surrounding the abbey, every day you can choose your favourite place in this adventure playground. During our stay the abbey was embedded in pictureresque sunflowers and grainfields. In the village Luzé you can dispose your sorted waste only, next bakery is in Nouatre approx. 10 minutes away, to the next supermarket in St Maure, Richelieu or L'Ile-Bouchard it takes roundabout 20 minutes by car. This location is perfect to explore either the Loire-Valley with its medieval cities and chateaus or the Romanesque Poitou, even day trips to La Rochelle and/ or the beaches in Aquitaine are possible, when starting early. Wonderfully Rural Perfection

Our stay at the Abbaye was just wonderful!!! Our hosts, Christina and Marc, were very lovely and welcoming. They were very easy to communicate with before and during our stay. We were able to take a tour of the Abbaye and it’s grounds with Marc, who is very knowledgeable and passionate about retaining the history of the time period. Once we were familiar with the roads , it was easy to get to Chinon and Richelieu from our apartment. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. It had everything we needed. We were even welcomed with some champagne and snacks upon our arrival. We would have loved to have been able to stay longer and enjoyed the relaxation of the site. We will definitely stay again next time we are in the Loire Valley.

Wunderschöner Urlaub

Eine traumhafte Immobilie. Die Ruhe und der Sternenhimmel waren ĂŒberragend. Die Gastgeber haben tolle Tipps fĂŒr Besichtigungen und zum Essen gehen gehabt. Eine ganz besondere Unterkunft

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Urlaub in dieser ganz besonderen Unterkunft. Wir waren als Familie zu fĂŒnft im sehr ansprechend und modern ausgebauten Haus Grenier Grain. Auf dem GelĂ€nde gibt es nur ein weiteres Ferienhaus fĂŒr 3 Personen. Der ganz besondere Charme der Abbeye und des traumhaften GelĂ€ndes hat alle in seinen Bann gezogen. Das Vermieterehepaar wohnt ebenfalls auf dem GelĂ€nde. Die Beiden sind unglaublich nett, auskunftsfreudig und hilfsbereit. Wir kamen in den Genuss einer Landrover Tour querfeldein und einer hochinteressanten unterhaltsamen FĂŒhrung durch die Abbeye. Die Schlösser der Loire sind alle gut zu erreichen. Wer einen historischen Urlaub in ganz besonderem Ambiente sucht ist hier richtig.

een ongelooflijk verblijf in een ongelooflijke omgeving met een ongelooflijk gastgezin

Ik ben bijna zestig en heb al heel wat campings, hotels en gites gezien in Europa, maar dit sloeg werkelijk alles. De abdij en de twee gites liggen afgesloten van de buitenwereld. Je krijgt enkel toegang door de code in te tikken aan de poort, en dan .... is alles van jou. Onze gite was de grotere van de twee, slaapplaats voor 5 personen, met wat tekort aan privacy, want geen aparte kamers. Een dubbelbed op de eerste verdieping, daar ook een echt luxe bad en idem douche en toilet, een dubbelbed op de tweede verdieping, maar nergens muren ertussen. Dus echt wel iets voor heel goede vrienden of een gezin. Wat ons eerst een gebrek leek te zijn, bleek helemaal geen probleem. Een heel ruime keuken, met alles erop en eraan. Een comfortabele living die we nauwelijks gebruikt hebben. Want een voortuintje omgeven door heggen met een tafelset voor zeker zes personen, maakt dat je meer buiten ontbijt en leeft, in alle privacy. De gite staat vlak naast de abdij zelf. Voor een deel gerestaureerd, een groot deel nog niet, maar alles en altijd vrij toegankelijk voor de gasten. Dus 's avonds achter de adbij in de ruime tuinen van de prachtige zonsondergang genieten, of nog effe de toren van de hoofdkerk op om van het uitzicht te genieten, het mag en kan allemaal. De abdij is echt van jou. Ze hebben twee Minerva jeeps uit de jaren vijftig, en nodigen je vaak uit om zo een ritje te maken 's avonds, d'r leeft nogal wat wild in de bossen, of naar de bakker een paar kilometer verderop. MarcO, Christine en hun zoon Igor zijn franstalige Belgen, maar ze geven zich echt moeite om Nederlands te praten, en Engels kan altijd. Te warm ? Dan snel een duik in het open zwembad onder het afdak van een oude schuur. Je wil een bezoek brengen aan een stadje in de buurt of kajakken ? Het gezin zorgt ervoor. Wat je zeker moet doen: een ritje te maken met de jeeps.En MarcO's rondleiding door de abdij voor buitenstaanders. Gepassioneerd !Wil je fruit of kruiden voor de BBQ uit de tuinen ? Zelfbediening is de boodschap. De kastelen van de Loire bezoeken ? Een klein uurtje rijden en je bent er. En wil je de laatste rustplaats van Yul Brunner, filmheld uit de jaren vijftig, zien ? In jouw tuinen achter jouw abdij. Want dat is het: het staat allemaal open voor jou tijdens je verblijf. Je hebt een slechte gsm-verbinding en een traag internet. Maar dat mis je niet. Wil je een roman schrijven of een scriptie , los van de wereld en toch thuis voelen ... Doen ! Ongelooflijk maar wel waar

WOW!! This place is amazing!!

Just returned from a wonderful week at this beautiful place. The accommodation was clean, spacious, very well equipped and full of character. The gite is set in the stunningly beautiful grounds of the abbey which is full of history and character and has a lovely swimming pool which is perfect when wanting to cool off from the glorious sunshine that we had. Our hosts Marc and Christine couldn't have been more welcoming, showing us all the best places to go & giving us a fantastic guided tour of the abbey. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Situated in a peaceful hamlet but just a short drive from the delights of the Loire Valley. We had the most wonderful holiday and would not hesitate to return to this wonderful place again. What a wonderful place

We have just got back after a couple of weeks touring around the Loire and we spent one of those weeks at this wonderful Abbey , the location is stunning , the accommodation (we were in Le Grenier Le Grains) is beautifully maintained and very comfortable , and the pool is just gorgeous ! we had a great time visiting the many places of interest and Chateau`s in the area as well as indulging a hobby of collecting Antiques, our hosts Marc and Christina couldn't have been more helpful in locating Brocantes and Vie de Greniers for us we went home with a car full of new treasures ! Thank you so much for a wonderful time and we will see you again Im sure ,warmest regards Sue & Jules

Heaven on earth!! 💖💖💖

Wow! Where do we start? The setting is absolutely idyllic. We stayed in the Porterie, next to the abbey. Cosy yet perfect. The house had every mod con we required yet still had all its rustic charm. Our hosts made us feel like a part of the family from the moment we arrived yet were never intrusive in our holiday. They showed us around the historic setting and advised on all the surrounding points of interest. They were always on hand when we needed them. We travelled with a thirteen year old and a six year old. The wifi connection meant we had a happy teen and the swimming pool, fully stocked with toys for the children, kept our six year old happy for hours. Charming, relaxing, perfect!!

Very Special place.....Extra special hosts!!

What an amazing family holiday we had this year! We were so fortunate to spot this beautiful listing on the homeAway website but be warned, even those fabulous photos and rave reviews could not do full justice to the magical place that is Labbaye de Bois Aubry!We at once felt so privileged to live for a week alongside the abbey in accommodation that was luxurious, spotless and extremely well equipped.The grounds were picture postcard perfect and the wider area was steeped in history and culture... a week was just not long enough to explore its riches. We holidayed with 2 teenagers and a preteen , who spent their days swimming, exploring and absorbing more history than they had ever learned in school. Last but not least we must give huge credit to our exceptional hosts Mark and Christine who brought the abbey to life for us and went above and beyond all expectations to make our stay the fabulous success that it was. To our new friends Mark an Christine, a huge Thank you from us all. For anyone considering a visit to Labbaye.....Go for it, you will certainly be delighted!

Geweldige locatie; prachtig vakantieverblijf

De gites zijn mooi verbouwd en van alle nodige zaken voorzien. De locatie is werkelijk fantastisch en de gastheer (Marc) en gastvrouw (Christine) zijn zeer vriendelijke en behulpzaam. Wij zijn er met 4 kinderen geweest en ook de kinderen hebben zich prima vermaakt. Er is alle ruimte voor hen om te spelen, ook het zwembad is heel mooi. Kortom, een aanrader!!!!

Beautiful gite

My family and I have stayed in many gites in France, and this one is the best. The photographs don't do justice to the stunning setting of the abbey where you can wander freely in the grounds and pick fruit from the trees. The standard of cleanliness and comfort is excellent, and you can swim in a lovely pool beneath lanterns. Marc and Christine are on hand to provide extensive information about the area which is rich in culture.

Traumurlaub mit Kulturdenkmal

Es war einfach perfekt: Sommerurlaub im Loire-Tal, eine ehrwĂŒrdige alte Abtei und ein Ferienhaus aus dem 15. Jahrhundert. Selten haben wir uns in einem Urlaub so glĂŒcklich gefĂŒhlt, wie hier auf dem Lande. Das Gite war hochwertig und liebevoll eingerichtet, der große Pool lockte zum Schwimmen und im Obstgarten reiften Äpfel, Birnen, Aprikosen... Von unserem wunderschönen Areal konnten wir in kurzer Zeit alle Loire-Schlösser erreichen, die wir im Umkreis besichtigen wollen. Und Marc-Oliver und seine Familie waren so herzlich und aufmerksam (Danke fĂŒr die tolle Fahrt mit dem US-Jeep! Danke fĂŒr die zahlreichen Ausflugs- und Restaurant-Tipps! Danke fĂŒr eine besondere FĂŒhrung durch die Abtei!), dass wir gern wiederkommen möchten. Ein echter Geheimtipp!
