We have nothing negative to say about our stay. The apartment was clean, at an excellent location, and had an ample kitchen for everyday cooking.The host Carlo was responsive to our needs, and he and his daughter helped in the delivery of our late arriving luggage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and strongly recommend this apartment to those that want an authentic experience in Venice.

Carlo was a very nice man. Sadly never met the daughter which surprised me since I had read past reviews. I had an issue with communication before I got there and had to send some information multiple times, but it worked out. I was arriving late and really appreciated that Carlo came down and showed us the place. We asked about the air, which we needed after carrying everything in the rain. This was one of the reasons we chose this apartments. He didnt think we needed it and said American lovethe air..he was right. Sadly can run them at the same time and we could only get one to halfway work. We bought little fans to use. The location was wonderful!! Close to everything and easy to get around. The apartment is large and right on a canal which was great. Loved seeing the gondolas go by: Could use a small update in some areas. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was large. Sadly wasn’t sure what to do at checkout and sent a message that wasn’t answered, hope I did the right thing! Again Carlo was a nice man and even brought us a bottle of wine. Thank you Carlo!!!

Excellent stay

The apartment was wonderful and contained everything we needed. It was in a great location, very quiet but just minutes away from the main tourist area and water transport.Minutes from supermarkets and restaurants. Carlo was a fantastic host, very kind and helpful. Check in was easy, the apartment was a bit tricky to find at first but the local shopkeeper helped us to find it.Would definitely come back here!

Very nice but....

I'm sorry but my experience was less than wonderful. The apartment is very nice and roomy. Two bedrooms but only one has air-conditioning supposedly. The air-conditioning was set to minimum fan speed and very high temperature. After 12 hours the temperature was down maybe 4 degrees. Windows had no screens to stop the mosquitoes. Not what i was hoping for or expected.

Great location with canal views

Flat full of history. No Greige, noIKEA, just real life. Very close to everything. You can hear the gondola rowers singing in your bedroom. Loved it .

Great location, wonderful host!

Carlo was a wonderful host and communication with him was excellent. His tidy apartment is perfectly located near restaurants and sites and yet tucked away down a quiet little alley, in a private courtyard, with a Canal just outside the living room window. We were two couples, and very comfortable with the layout of the home. Carlo lives right upstairs and was a gracious presence. Grazie Carlo! We feel like we found a home away from home, in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Wonderful

Fabulous stay in a wonderful apartment with a a gracious host

Carlo is a wonderful host and the apartment is clean, cosy and homey. It backs onto a canal and is in a safe, quiet area. At the same time, it is extremely well located. From the San Zaccaria wharves, the simplest way is to take either Calle dei Albanese or Calle de le Rasse. You reach Campo Santi Filippo e Giacomo. If you have taken Calle dei Albanesi, there is a tobacconist on the left hand corner and two restaurants directly in front of you. If you have taken Calle de le Rasse turn left. There is a narrow street to the right of the restaurant on the corner. The street is under the sign on the wall indicating Campo dei Santi Filippo e Giacomo. It becomes Calle Rimpeto la Sacristia e Calle Drio la Chiesa. Take it and follow it all the way. It bends to the right to go over a small bridge at the Hotel Casa Verada. The street is now called Calle Castagana. This brings you to Ruga Giuffa. There is a shop - eborista- directly in front of you. Turn right and then almost immediately right again into an unnamed alley. There is a gate and a garden at the end at you are there. The place is spacious with a good kitchen, separate lounge and dining area. The washing machine is a great bonus. Supermarkets, San Marco, the Biennale are all easily reached on foot. Thank you, Carlo! I had a wonderful time.

Great Apartment in central location

We were in Venice to see the biennial and used this apartment as a base. It is conveniently located, Carlo is a great host helping with all information and the apartment was clean and quiet. We hope to come again.

Fabulous location

Carlo met us for arrival and spent time walking us through everything at his apt. It was so helpful. You won’t find a better location and the apt itself is very “Venice”. It felt great. I strongly recommend staying here without any reservations.

Castello authentic

Carlo met us at the gate and oriented us to this authentic property in the castello neighborhood. The apartment is close to San Marco and myriads of delicious small restaurants and interesting shops. We had all we needed and more.

Great to meet you Carlos!

Overall we really enjoyed our stay! Loved all the nostalgia items throughout the suit, beautiful separate room for all of us to be together. ( kitchen, dining & living room tables!) Fantastic location / once we found the alley to get to the suit LOL The kitchen had a great supply of pots, pans, cutlery & plates. Our only constructive comment would be the beds… very hard& very squeaky bed frames! They could use an upgrade in our opinion after sleeping on them for 4 nights.

Parfait !!!

Cela fait la seconde fois que je loue l appartement de Carlo pour mes amis. Ils en sont toujours aussi enchanté et satisfait de celui ci. Eine tolle Unterkunft
