Alder Cottage es una casa ideal para sus vacaciones, que se encuentra a los pies de la montaña Benbo este es el lugar perfecto para escapar de la vida moderna. Ya marcada en los mapas en 1847 esta casa ha sido restaurada con gusto y tiene todas las comodidades modernas.
Disfrute con la naturaleza Bluebell Organic Farm le puede dar a sus productos ecológicos cada día: huevos, carne de cordero, mermeladas y panes. puedes, si te apetece, aprender a hilar la lana de las ovejas o de hacer pan y mermeladas.
Un río que fluye del salmón en el jardín y un lago cercano llenará usted si usted está pescando. También puede ir a pescar en el mar. Connemara sólo a las dos horas de distancia y las montañas de Donegal es de una hora.

Mary, was a fantastic host and really made sure we had a lovely time. The home and grounds are beautiful and truly relaxing. The damson plum jam from her own label and tomatoes from the garden were a perfect welcome and delicious! So fortunate we found this beautiful home.

Mary was our Host, she explained everything that we needed to know, above all, helped us when we had a problem with our car. The cottage was brilliant, spotless and tranquil, and Mary was a great Host. Will definitely recommend her hospitality.

I wanted the Cottage experience and Alder Cottage delivered! Tranquil with easy access to all Leitrim, Sligo, Mayo, Roscommon, and Donegal have to offer! I loved having a fire on in the evenings. Mary was so kind and welcoming, she left a bottle of her amazing apple juice, and jams from her farm upon check in and even made a chocolate welcome treat for my birthday!As I sit typing this in my room at an inn in Aughrim Co Wicklow, I am wishing I was back at Alder cottage. If you are looking for a great 'home base' location for a stay in the North West part of Ireland, Alder Cottage should be at the top of your list. Mary is the BEST!

A perfect country cottage

Alder Cottage is perfectly situated in beautiful north County Leitrim, peaceful and quiet, but easily accessible to everything you need for a great vacation. Mary is a thoughtful and caring host, attending to every detail to ensure your stay is wonderful.

A very comfortable cottage with all amenities ideally located to explore Sligo and Leitrim wonders.

Lovely to go off exploring the awesome historical / scenic features that abound and return to a comfortable home base to reinvigorate and prepare for the next adventure. Mary was a delightful helpful host and our stay of over a week most economical. Local super markets and great pubs made it very easy.

Beautiful find. We will be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Alder cottage and cannot wait to return. We had everything we needed and check in with the lovely Mary was super easy. The area is very beautiful and the cottage itself felt like we were the only people for miles. The outdoor table tennis table was an absolute bonus!

Lovely cottage in a quiet location

Alder Cottage is a wonderfully quiet cottage with everything your heart desires. A great idyll to relax and escape the stressful everyday life. Maria received us warmly and gave us a list of interesting places to visit in the area. Thanks for the nice stay.

a treasure in the countryside

Peaceful and private

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely place. It was spacious and well-equipped. It was particularly delightful to be able to light and open fire for the cooler evenings. Mary's welcome was warm, very helpful and prompt in her communications. Thanks Mary for everything.

Great stay

We arrived after 9.30 pm, this was no trouble to the fantastic host Mary. Due to our late arrival she very kindly got us some supplies in. Mary gave us directions to various towns and activities we could do with two teenagers. The house was well stocked with all you need. And the table tennis table was a big hit. Thank you for a great stay, we will be back.

Fantastic holidays

We really enjoyed our holidays at the Alder Cottage. The cottage is very cosy and located in a wonderful nature. You have a good connection to Sligo, different beaches and the hills. We made a day trip to the north ( Wild Atlantic Way). Mary was the best host ever. She took much time to show us the farm. Thanks a lot for the warm welcome.

Truly a home away from home

What a great place to stay! Mary, the owner, was so helpful and kind. Quiet, quiet location with a very narrow (!) driveway. The front room was so comfortably decorated, and a great place to read and watch a movie. Kitchen was amply equipped, and bedrooms were spacious. The hot water/heating system was a bit fiddly for us in that we didn't really understand it, but Mary was there to answer all questions. Highly recommend this property if you're looking for some quiet get-away time.

I'm so sorry you had problems with the water heating system and have now changed the timer. The lane is only as wide as possible in the circumstances as it dates back to the 1840's when there were donkeys and carts!

Ireland - Week one

Great property, great host. Mary was kind, helpful and apologetic for the rain! We did however find plenty to do even on the rainy days. If I made one suggestion, it would be to have a mirror somewhere in the house close to an outlet to make it easier to dry ans style hair. But really, everything eas wonderful!! Thank you for your hospitality.

Peaceful, Off the Beaten Track, Haven

This is a lovely property, very spacious with nice grounds. Our host, Mary, was very helpful and easy to deal with. The only surprise was the extra charge for some utilities. We were aware that there was a fee for heater usage which is fairly common here, but there were also charges for hot water and electricity. It should be mentioned in the listing too avoid confusion.

A lovely peaceful break

The property was very clean, well presented, and fully equipped. Mary was very helpful in making us feel at home and provided a replacement BBQ of which we made good use. We drove around the surrounding area extensively and visited Sligo and various places on the Wild Atlantic Way touring route. We were extremely lucky with the weather and had very little rain, so the remote location was not an issue. We enjoyed our trip to The Shed distillery at Drumshanbo and also to Parke Castle on Lough Gill. All the equipment in the property was good quality and functioned well, including the TV and wifi, so we had a very comfortable and most enjoyable stay.

Quiet Retreat!

Alder cottage was wonderful! Mary was very welcoming and helpful as we arrived. We are a family of four, two adults, one teen and one 20 year old. We had many matches and great laughs with table tennis in the stone shed area. The surroundings are quiet, peaceful and lovely. While it rained the entire time we were here, there was still much to do around the area. Sligo and Lough Gill were our favorites. We loved our stay and would highly recommend this for a nice getaway. No wifi was a bit of an issue with the kids, but we adults were fine to unplug for a few days! Thanks Mary, for your wonderful home and hospitality.

Absolutely wonderful!

We stayed with our family at the cottage for a week in August. The house was simply wonderful and the location was perfect for taking advantage of all that this area of Ireland has to offer. Mary was an incredibly gracious host and provided us with great information about the area. For a week we were able to relax, explore and make many day trips North of Sligo. This may have been the first time where we have stayed in a house where the pictures don't quite capture the house's beauty. Whether we were having dinner outside, enjoying a fire or having fun cooking in the beautiful kitchen, this house exceeded all of our expectations. We would return to this cottage in a heart beat.
