居心地の良い＆快適な、ビーチへの1ブロックとプロムナードへの2ブロック、ホットタブ、Firepit、バーベキュー

Kathy and Wayne (both retired and worked in education (Riverdale, Neakahnie, and Sweet Home School Districts). We were married for 33 years and lived in Lake Oswego OR for 17 years before moving to Woodland WA. Due to Wayne's vision issues, we moved from our 6 acres to LaCenter WA in 2016. Wayne grew up in Pilot Rock (near Pendleton) OR and Kathy grew up in NE Portland OR (David Douglas HS). In blending our families, we were blessed with seven kids (now ages from 43 to 59), grandkids (ages 10 to 37)- and six great grandkids. We have kids and grandkids on the Northern OR coast- Nehalem/ Manzanita area and Cannon Beach- and kids and grandkids in Lake Oswego OR, Hood River OR, Vancouver WA.

When the opportunity to purchase Cottage by the Sea came up, it was perfect timing and the perfect location. Life changes (maturing issues) kept us from traveling as much as we did in the past. We had both lived at the coast year-round and always loved it --yes, even the rain! Seaside offers wonderful amenities for all ages (including medical--important for that maturing thing). It's close, but not too close, to some of our kids. And what a great place to have family and friends come visit and play with us. :)

We have always been active, social people and love the outdoors, walking, fresh air and projects. Between our two homes, we have lots of opportunity for all of those things. We spend time at the coast in between sharing it with people like you. We are thankful and appreciative for the opportunity to do that.

Update: Wayne passed away on April 22, 2024. He was legally blind so I've always handled all things Seaside. He and I decided that I would continue to do this as long as it worked for me.

Having lived on the north Oregon coast in the past, Wayne & I were very familiar and comfortable with the Seaside area. Cottage by the Sea was a recently activated VRBO rental when we purchased it in October 2014. The main cottage was built in the 1920's and used to connect to the yellow house on the corner with another cottage in between and was run as a motel. Around 2008, the Cottage underwent a major remodel with the addition of a garage, laundry room, 3rd bedroom, 2nd full bathroom, and dining room. There were some upgrades that we wanted to do (and did!) to make it 100% comfortable for us and therefore also for you!

Our projects included converting the garage into a wonderful 14x22 fully carpeted, insulated, heated family room; carpeting the living room in the main cottage; adding a new storm door with pull down screen to allow more natural light in living room as well as air circulation when desired; new door and storm door (also with pull-down screen) in dining room; upgraded shower heads; support rails in bathrooms (maturing thing again!); quiet toilet seats (weird- perhaps, but important to us); new concrete walkway to front door and around hot tub; completely fenced in yard and other smaller amenities.
