Why Jonathan & Chloe' Crouch chose Potter
We have lived in this community of friendly people and quiet roads most of our lives .... its a pleasant experience that we hope will be enjoyed by others.
What makes this Cottage unique
Woodland Cottage was built in the 1950s by a colorful and somewhat eccentric lady and her husband. They had a real zest for life and were loaded with personality, laughter, warmth and practicality.... it is all reflected in the design layout and feel of this unique and quaint little cottage. We feel you will just love a relaxing get away here...so book your stay... come on down or up or over ...... we'll be glad to have ya!

Fun and Quirky!
We stayed here for 2 nights with our kids and had a great time. The place was clean, and we enjoyed watching movies and roasting hot dogs in the fire pit outside (the owners provided wood and matches). Jonathan was really accommodating - I thought I had reserved the cottage for Thursday and Friday nights, but the actual reservation was for Wednesday and Thursday! I didn't realize this until after the fact, but the Crouchs were very kind about it.
We also loved that we were able to bring our dog. We've been to a few pet friendly places and this has definitely been the most well kept of them. Just a note - the room with the 2 beds in it only has a curtain dividing it from the living room. The only negative would be that the room with one bed was a bit humid.
While we were in Mena, we hiked the Earthquake Ridge Trail, and visited Queen Wilhelmina State Park. The East End Vistor's center has a lot of maps and literature for things to do outdoors.
Beautiful, secluded property only ten minutes from town.
Our stay at the Woodland Cottage was phenomenal. The description listed is spot on - acres of quiet solitude away from everything, yet close enough to town to enjoy restaurants, grocery stores, and parks as well as the numerous hiking trails in the area. Jonathon was an exceptional host and will make you feel like family as soon as you arrive. He is a wealth of information from hiking trails, scenic drives, local restaurants, etc. The cottage was perfect size for my wife and I along with our 2 year old son. We appreciated the many amenities the cottage offered, from the amazing "cave shower" to the fully stocked kitchen to the fire pit that we surrounded each evening. An added bonus is the seclusion of the property with only a few cars meandering down road every hour, yet being so close to town! We were also humbled to have the opportunity to meet several of the neighbors down the road while out walking. (Talking to Tommy felt like talking to a friend I hadn't seen in years.) Everyone that we encountered was polite and friendly. I am very much looking forward to a return trip to the Woodland Cottage in the near future. Thanks for everything, Jonathon!

Impressive & Highly Recommended
The cabin is about 5 miles off the main roads and the mobile networks are almost unavailable. Irrespective, if you would like to take an vacation and get off the grids, I would highly recommend this place. The owner is very friendly too and overall it was a good experience.
Great Location for Peace and Quiet
I spent two nights here this past week and really enjoyed the cabin and the area. Just a short trip to Mena, Cossatot Falls, and other places of interest. Would recommend this cabin for anyone on a budget that wants a rustic atmosphere. Clean and well-equipped.
Queen Wilhelmena State Park just 20 miles from Mena, with Lodge, Resturant, gift shop, hiking trails, miniature golf, tourist train, playground, & campsites. We are about 70 miles from Hot Springs, AR, which offers the Magic Springs theme park / Water Park, historic Bathhouse Row, Horse Races, Wax Museum, Mid-America Science Museum, & lots of addl. activities.
