Peacefully,quiet, clean and very relaxing
This property is kept up beautifully. Clean and comfortable. Recommend highly and will be back.
The cottage was very cozy and exactly what we had hoped it would be. A home away from home!
My son and I enjoyed our stay at the Glass House Retreat during Labor Day weekend. My son wanted a secluded cabin and I wanted more cozier accommodations. Needless to say, we both ended up satisfied with what I picked. Roland and Becky were amazing hosts and know how to treat their guests. When I confirmed our arrival, Roland and Becky came to meet us. They were both so kind and provided more information about the property, as well as things to do in the area. There were fresh baked cookies upon our arrival, as well. The cottage is spacious, the furniture and beds were very comfortable, and the bathrooms and kitchen are well stocked with all that you would need. I wish we had more time to appreciate the deck area and the walking paths around the house. We came to dig for crystals and diamonds, but were happy to return to a comfortable, quiet, and peaceful setting after a day of digging in the hot sun. Wifi and GPS is hit or miss in the area, so it's best to follow the directions they give to the cottage. Overall, our stay was wonderful and the cottage was lovely. We would love to return for a longer stay. Thanks again Roland and Becky for your hospitality and generosity!
The Glass House Retreat is one of the best places we've ever visited. My wife and I have been renting cabins for over a decade and this one is the best provisioned of any. Becky has supplied virtually everything you need. Well stocked kitchen, including various spices and other staples. The cabin is clean, neatly decorated, and actually feels more like a home than a rental. I could go on and on about what all she provides so let me put it this way. What the website says is provided, is provided. Even 1st aid supplies! You do have to bring your own actual food, but everything else is there.
But my favorite thing was the deck. Sitting by the river (literally over it) surrounded by trees, listening to the babbling river and the sounds of nature was so relaxing. We booked the Retreat to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary and wanted a quiet, peaceful place to enjoy together, and we found it.
As for the rest of the property, it is equally nice. They have put in a lot of effort to make it a unique and beautiful setting. We enjoyed sitting by the fire at night. There's also the a comfortable covered sitting area if you want a different view. And the trails are a quaint addition.
Lastly, but very importantly, is Becky and Roland (the owners.) They are so nice, friendly, and genuine. They live on the property and are there for you if you need anything. Although we didn't need anything (like I said, it's already there) they made it very clear that they were there should we need anything. I could say more, but just know that they have gone to great lengths to provide a very special and accommodating get-a-way, and they have succeeded wonderfully.
The glass house was fantastic! All the windows to look out into the woods made a big difference. The pathways thru the gardens was very pretty.
We had raccoons and armadillos come up and sitting on the porch overlooking the creek was nice and peaceful.
Thanks guys for the wonderful vacation!
Beautiful & relaxing home and property
It was so nice for our entire family to stay at this beautiful home. Thank you for going above & beyond to make sure we had everything we needed from the home baked cookies to the welcome signs for our family. Our grandkids (and children) had so much fun fishing from the deck. Thank you & we hope to see you again next year!
This is an absolutely wonderful property from the fairy garden like walkways to the comfortable beds. The water in the river is so clear and the fish will swim right up to you if you are feeding them the “fish food” Becky and Roland left. This is by far one of the best places I have stayed at with vrbo and it is also very safe and secure feeling too. The owners are very nice people who seem to take pride and enjoy renting their property out to allow people relax at an affordable price. I had everything I could ever ask for here including them allowing my very large boxer to come with us. Thank you guys again and we will definitely be back for another vacation.
Sincerely, The Betchan Family
