We loved how it was right on the water!

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay here! Roland and Becky were very welcoming and the house was stocked with whatever you need, including chocolate chip cookies waiting for us when we got there! We loved how secluded it was, how the windows really opened up the house to the outside, and how we were right on the water! We enjoyed sitting on the big deck listening to the water from the river and the rest of nature! We grilled out on the BBQ grill almost every night! We caught a 1.5lb bass, 3 bluegills, a baby channel catfish, and a baby bullhead catfish. During our stay we visited Queen Wilhelmina State Park (the view is amazing!), ate at Southern Belle restaurant in Oklahoma, went fishing at Lake Ouachita, dug for diamonds at Crater of Diamonds State Park, enjoyed some snow cones in the town of Mena, and just enjoyed hanging around the property. It was so quite and relaxing! We were sad to leave!

Absolutely Wonderful relaxing place to go!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived we knew it was perfect for us! The house is so clean and brightly lite up. Has 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, plenty of clean linens ,washer/dryer

, kitchen had Keuig coffee maker(with a refill cup) and coffee pot-even had coffee and creamer, microwave, toaster and everything to cook with available. Wow! We had everything we needed . Privacy was totally respected. My husband caught several fish off this large beautiful deck, we used the grill outside to prepare several meals -that was perfect!

Nature was beautiful as we walked along the pathways-our love grew here at the Glass House Retreat! Go there and enjoy this beautiful home with all you need for a special time!

Thank you Roland and Becky -Glad we visited your home church -precious people we met!

Oh they had some great old movies-Remember Ma and Pa Kettle LOL !!Enjoy!!!

Magical stay at the Glass House Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently stayed a week at the Glass House Retreat during our first visit to Arkansas. We loved the area and have nothing but good things to say about the Retreat! The house itself was more than we expected. It was incredibly maintained, well-organized, and was stocked with everything we needed to "retreat" to the countryside from the city. Becky and Roland were incredibly generous hosts, and made sure that we had everything we needed. We were delayed the day we checked in and had to arrive after dark. We were a little nervous about accessing the house in the dark, but we shouldn't have been! Becky and Roland left the lights on for us and made sure we had easy access into the house. Becky had also left fresh cookies on the counter top (and doggie snack for our pooch), which was a lovely surprise after 5 hours on the road! The house itself is beautiful and rightly named the "Glass House." The living room and kitchen/dining room area are surrounded by a wall of glass, allowing you to look over the deck and nearby stream. The deck itself hangs out over the stream and my husband and I spent almost every evening feeding the perch in the water below! Though the inside of the house is immaculate, I have to admit that I spent most of my time outdoors on the deck. In the morning I enjoyed watching the songbirds and hummingbirds go about their business in the surrounding treetops, and in the evenings we were treated to the (almost deafening) call of cicadas and bronze frogs. The Glass House retreat is in the perfect location to enjoy many of the best attractions in Arkansas. We were about an hour to hour and a half away from many of the "must see" areas including Queen Wilhelmina State Park, Hot Springs National Park, Mount Magazine, and the Wegner Quartz Crystal Mines. My husband and I found lots of fun hiking spots in the area (though summer is not be the best time for hiking - we ran into lots of ticks!) For folks planning on an Arkansas getaway, I would highly recommend the Glass House Retreat as your destination! Just an FYI for anyone considering visiting this area: Polk County is dry, so if you enjoy a glass of wine at dinner you need to bring your own supply. Also, the nearest restaurants are noted for their BBQ and country fried steak, so if you are vegetarian (like me), make sure to pick up groceries (nearest store is Walmart in Mena) and be prepared to cook! Overall the Glass House was fantastic and we highly recommend it!

Amazing!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the "Glass House Retreat" for a girlfriends getaway. We loved it!!! Roland and Becky were wonderful, they greeted us upon arrival, had cookies waiting for us and brought us fresh peppers and tomatoes out of their garden. We loved our visits from Cooper. The house was stocked with way more than we would have ever thought. We suggest bring your clothes and food and come visit this beautiful retreat, we plan on coming back. Thanks again Roland and Becky for your wonderful hospitality.

Everything You Could Ask For In A Relaxing Vacation!!

  • 5 of 5

After reading all the reviews, I was hoping this place would live up to what had been said.Well!!! This place and the property owners were so beyond my already heightened expectations!!! The property is so, so beautiful, relaxing and enjoyable. Loved how the big windows brought the outside in. We fished every day, and had plans to go sightseeing, but enjoyed it there so much, we didn't want to go!! Roland and Becky were as nice as the place is beautiful. We felt like we had known them for a long, long time. They are very respectful of your privacy, though, if you prefer alone time. They have taken care of everything you need. Most relaxing vacation ever!!

Excellent property and warm, welcoming hosts

  • 5 of 5

We greatly enjoyed our weekend at The Glass House Retreat. The property is in a private, beautiful setting and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Becky and Roland are gracious hosts and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The location is ideal for exploring the Ouachita National Forest or spending mornings fishing on Iron Forks Lake. Highly recommended.
