We loved how it was right on the water!

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay here! Roland and Becky were very welcoming and the house was stocked with whatever you need, including chocolate chip cookies waiting for us when we got there! We loved how secluded it was, how the windows really opened up the house to the outside, and how we were right on the water! We enjoyed sitting on the big deck listening to the water from the river and the rest of nature! We grilled out on the BBQ grill almost every night! We caught a 1.5lb bass, 3 bluegills, a baby channel catfish, and a baby bullhead catfish. During our stay we visited Queen Wilhelmina State Park (the view is amazing!), ate at Southern Belle restaurant in Oklahoma, went fishing at Lake Ouachita, dug for diamonds at Crater of Diamonds State Park, enjoyed some snow cones in the town of Mena, and just enjoyed hanging around the property. It was so quite and relaxing! We were sad to leave!

Awesome weekend getaway spot

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I decided to get away for the weekend just the two of us. The house was great, had an amazing porch, the location was great as it was off the main roads and super quiet, but close enough to town to run in and get dinner, or check out the cute downtown area. The host and hostess were fantastic they made cookies and bread that were waiting for us when we arrived. They even stopped by when we arrived to let us know a little bit of the area and tips on where to go. We highly recommend this property.

A quite retreat in the woods

  • 5 of 5

Just back from spending 6 days at this property in the woods around Mena, AR. It is a lovely place. The property itself is garden-like with tall trees all around, a beautiful stream on one side, a small open field on the other, and many paths to explore. It feels very secluded. The cabin is roomy, comfortable and full of natural light from the many large windows. The owners have done a superb job of anticipating needs and accommodating a multitude of activities. As if by magic, whenever I thought I needed an item, I would find it in the next drawer I opened. One notable aspect of the property is the well furnished kitchen. Many VRBO properties fail to provide even a sharp knife. This one has most everything needed to put together a holiday dinner for 5 people! Would love to return to spend more time at this wonderful property.

Peaceful and Joyous Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Glass House Retreat was the perfect place for our sibling weekend. We shared many memories of our parents and laughed, and laughed and laughed. The house is gorgeous and the furniture beautiful. Meticulous in every detail and Becky and Roland pay close attention to detail. The house is stocked with everything you would need, including items you may have forgotten at home. The plate of Christmas cookies and the Christmas decorations made certain we got the Christmas Spirit. A special thanks to the welcoming committee, Cooper. Appreciated all his security checks. We hope to make this an annual event and will definitely stay here again.. Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year.

Altogether Lovely!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! If you like total comfort, peaceful surroundings and quick access to attractions, you really need to consider the Glass House Retreat. Just the drive to this lovely home was enough to get our attention. The countryside is a pastoral delight!

The owners greeted us upon our arrival; meeting them was a real pleasure! The house was ready for us with lots of special touches, including a plate of homemade cookies. Our little dog had a bed, towels, treats, bowls and blanket awaiting him. It was a joy to come in, kick back and enjoy conversation, quality sleep and picturesque views from every window without the hassle of doorbells or ringing telephones.

This beautiful home is spotlessly clean with comfortable furnishings. The beds are great! The living room chairs are just right for relaxing and putting up your feel. The television has a nice, big screen, and if you’re interested, there’s a closet full of dvd and vhs format movies.

This spot is truly altogether lovely. In fact, we made our next reservation for June, 2018 this trip!
