About the property

1 bedroom, 1 bath condo sleeps 4 that is located in the heart of Bigfork.

This 486 square foot, 1 bed and 1 bath condo is located in the heart of Bigfork.

A stroll though the village of Bigfork reveals a vibrant arts culture. Along Electric Avenue there are art galleries, artists-in-residence, live community theater, as well as summer concerts in Sliter Park. The condo is located right downtown. This unit will comfortably sleep 4 adults. This condo is a 'lock off' of our larger 1267 sf 1 bedroom/1.5 bath condo that sleeps 6. If you are interested in both condos you will need to book this one as well as property #557312. Bigfork features bars, shops, fine and casual restaurants, and it's just a few blocks to Bigfork Bay, Flathead Lake and the Swan River Trail.

This condo features carpet and tile floors and forced-air heating and cooling. It has a flat screen TV and DVD player, and an en suite bedroom with a queen size bed. The fully stocked kitchenette has pots, pans, dishes, a microwave oven, electric cook top, a toaster over, a refrigerator, a dishwasher, a coffee maker, glassware and flatware. It also includes a laundry center (Washer and Dryer). The unit can be found on the second floor of Osborn Landing.

In addition to stairway access, there is a public elevator available and plenty of outside parking. Downtown street parking is also available for your use. We have free wireless internet available so you can stay connected with family and friends. (There is no land line phone, but cell service is widely available.) Dogs are allowed, but there is a pet fee and you must let us know in advance.

Flathead Lake, which Bigfork Bay empties into, offers boating, fishing and many other water sports. There is also rafting, tubing, kayaking, swimming and fly fishing in the local rivers. In the winter enjoy snow shoeing and cross country skiing in and around Glacier National Park. There's skiing and snowboarding at Big Mountain in Whitefish and at Blacktail Mountain in Lakeside. Don't miss the 4th of July fireworks on the lake, and the free summer concerts in Sliter Park.

In the summer hike the Swan River Trail, Glacier National Park, the Bob Marshall and Jewel Basin Wilderness Areas, or enjoy excellent golf courses, including Eagle Bend Golf Course in Bigfork. The Flathead Lake Lodge in Bigfork has horses for rent while the Majestic Valley Arena in Kalispell and the Blue Moon Cafe in Columbia Falls have rodeos to attend during the summer months. Enjoy Glacier National Park and its sister, Canada's Waterton Lakes Park, and all they have to offer. You can immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring beauty of the wilderness they are both known for. Millions of acres of untamed wilderness surround you. If you are into hiking, Jewel Basin is a great area to explore, but keep your eye out for bears!

About Steve Shapero

My wife and I both grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and after many years of working in the high tech industry started thinking about where we wanted to retire. After a long search we settled on Northwest Montana, and after buying some property we built our dream home overlooking Swan Lake about 10 miles outside of the village of Bigfork. We chose Montana because it had everything we wanted, boating, hiking, horses, camping, and was within an hour's drive of Glacier National Park, one of our favorite places to visit. We wanted a small town atmosphere where we could get to know everyone and Bigfork was just the right size for us. We love living here, even during the harsh winter months, and we have been able to do certain things, such as dog sledding, that we could never do in California. Even though we have only lived here for a few years, we can't imagine living anywhere else!

Steve Shapero purchased this condo in 2015

Why Steve Shapero chose Flathead Lake

We started looking for a second vacation rental property in 2014. Bigfork is a very popular resort area, and there were a number of rental properties for sale, but we wanted to buy in the best location, which meant as close to downtown as possible. We didn't want a large unit that would cost a lot to maintain and that we would have to charge a lot for. A 1 bedroom, 1 bath condo was the perfect size for us and would complement our original vacation rental which happens to be right next door. Combined these two condos offer 1753 sf of comfort and sleep 10 adults. Downtown Bigfork is the hub for activity in this area, and there are lots of things to see and do there. It's an easy drive to Kalispell, Polson or Glacier National Park, and if someone is interested in water sports it's the perfect spot on Flathead Lake. We have a boat and enjoy spending the day on the local lakes. We couldn't find a better location for us to have a vacation rental.

What makes this condo unique

The best thing about this condo is that you can walk out the front door, cross the street, and be in downtown Bigfork. Just stroll down Electric Avenue and enjoy the shops, bars, restaurants and live theater available throughout the year. You can walk south on Electric Avenue, across the steel bridge, and spend some time either listening to a band in Sliter Park or letting your kids enjoy the playground area. Head north on Electric Avenue, turn right on Grand Avenue and walk up the hill to the trail head for the 2 mile Swan River Nature Trail. It's a leisurely hike that takes you along the beautiful Swan River. After you're done hiking you can head back into town and have an adult beverage at one of the two local bars, or grab something to eat at one of the many local eateries. You can wander through the shops and art galleries looking the the perfect gift for that special someone. Being located so close to downtown means you can walk to anywhere you want without having to get in your car.

Great Stay

  • 4 of 5

The place was as advertised and clean and comfortable. We had a great time using this as a base to do hikes around West Glacier. The town is extremely cute and friendly. The walls are a little thin, so we heard the kids in the place next to us. But no issues, it was a great place to stay. We would stay here again on our next visit.

Cozy, Convenient & Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We completely enjoyed our stay in this quiet condo. Very well appointed with all the things you need to make for a perfect week's stay. We felt incredibly welcomed the moment we entered, from a welcoming note, chocolate, local jam and cookies! We loved being able to walk to great food and local shops, or just to the bay. Highly recommend this location - easy to access fishing on Flathead Lake/River or any nearby lake, and an easy jaunt to Glacier National Park.

Great value! Ideal location!

  • 4 of 5

Hummingbird Haven was a delightful stop on our extended road trip. Hotels get old for us and we loved having the ability to stock the frig with picnic fare and make our own breakfast and dinner. We did eat out in the downtown area and enjoyed two quality restaurants and browsed amusing shops that were just steps away from our door. The condo was ideal for the two of us and very clean and comfortable. The location is an easy drive to Glacier, Whitefish, Flathead Lake and there is so much to do in the area that we have already decided we will need to go back. If you travel to the area in September or later you will appreciate a place that is this warm and cozy. The owner could charge a lot more for everything included in this unit, but don't tell him. The only missing things would be a dining table instead of just a counter and a place to sit outside. It was nice to have the binder there to answer all of our questions about how things work and local information. We can recommend this property to couples who want a bit more than what a hotel can provide.

Wonderful stay in Bigfork!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a great time in this condo! After staying in hotels for the 11 days preceding this condo, it was such a welcome relief to stay at this cozy and luxurious condo. It has wonderful amenities including a washer and dryer, a high-end and stocked kitchen, and a refrigerator. We were welcomed with a beautiful basket filled with delicious goodies, including homemade jam, and a lot of helpful information about the condo and the surrounding location. This condo was in the perfect location, just steps from the main street in Bigfork with all of the restaurants and shops. They also provided prompt customer service and fixed an issue within 20 minutes of calling. When they came to fix it, they chatted with me and provided great recommendations for meals and places to go in the area. I would recommend this condo to anyone looking for a great time in Bigfork!
