With my late husband Dick, we used to have a second home in France but sold it because we wanted more room for our children, grandchildren and ourselves. We decided to take a chance in Portugal. It was love at first sight when we saw Casa Túlipa and the stunning view of the Serra da Lousá.
The villa is located in the lovely green heart of Portugal. No mass tourism, but very friendly inhabitants, and a pleasant climate. This is the authentic Portugal. A beautiful place that we also want others to enjoy.
Casa Túlipa, located between Lisbon and Porto, is a nice basis to explore all the gems of this part of Portugal. The ruins of Conímbriga, for example, are practically at your doorstep. Coimbra is just 20 mins away and offers, besides several sights, restaurants, supermarkets, and shopping malls. The vast golden beaches of the Silver Coast are within easy reach, as well as rivers and lakes (warmer and safer than the Atlantique).
In Portugal English is widely spoken, the meals and wines in restaurants are and surprisingly cheap, the infrastructure is very good, and best of all, the Portuguese are very friendly people.
