About John Hermanussen
Your Host – John Hermanussen After Graduating from CU Boulder and beginning my career as an engineer, I started following in my parents’ footsteps with traditional unfurnished rentals in the Golden/Lakewood area. Eventually, I graduated to building new homes and even one mixed use condo building. As the market tanked around 2008, I got into fix-n-flips and managed to keep a few of those as rentals. When my 2 sons went off to college, it made sense to help pay their college bills by renting out our family home. Since it sits in the middle of 8 different wedding venues on Lookout Mountain and there’s not much lodging or hotels nearby, Brides and Grooms and their parents started booking it, and the cabins on the property, for long weekends and having a place to hang out with their families in a casual atmosphere. In 2017, my girlfriend at the time, had the idea of clearing out the barn and opening it up for rehearsal dinners, family reunions, and charity events which was pure genius! She and I worked with Tim, Ton, Erin, Shelby, Theo, Bryce, and Brent on decorating, setting up, and upgrading everything. Now, it’s a great place for families to set up headquarters for a big wedding reception at the nearby venues with the rehearsal dinner, after wedding brunch/BBQ party, family dinners, and just making s’mores around the fire pit at the Colorado Lodge/Barn/Picnic Grounds/Recreation Area. The best part about working with wedding families is that we get to meet people from all over the country and world. It’s such a happy time for them that it’s contagious…It makes us happy too. Now I (and some other nearby hosts) have several other homes and cabins in the area so we can combine them to fit just about any combinations of family sizes/budgets and they can walk back and forth to visit each other while their family gets bigger, bonds stronger, and they create lifelong memories. With warm wishes for a happy life together, John Hermanussen 303 215 0296 TogetherInColorado
