Our house, Directoire period, in Tuffeau stone, typical of the Touraine region, welcomes you in great comfort. Located 8kms from Tours, it is in a green environment which you can fully enjoy. It has a large kitchen, utility room, large living room with fireplace and billiards, library, dining room, bar, 5 bedrooms each one for 2 people, 2 bathrooms, 2 shower rooms, 3 WCs, 2 of which are independent . You can have lunch in the sun on the terrace or have a coffee in the heart of the garden. The garden, 1ha, landscaped, accommodates 1 heated swimming pool from May to September (12x5m), 1 tennis court (hard surface), 1 ping-pong table, gravel alleys to play pétanque, deckchairs to relax . We also have an old converted barn which is the ideal place to organize barbecue in the fireplace. The center of Fondettes is only 1km away, offering you a Sunday market, a Catholic church, a bakery, a tobacco shop, two florists, banks, a pharmacy, doctors, hairdresser, supermarket etc. You are 15 minutes driving distance from Tours city center, well known for its cultural heritage, quality shops, restaurants, cinemas. The Loire is only a few minutes away by car to go for a walk, to fish (with license), to cycle. Several sports are accessible a few kilometers away: horse riding, golf, fishing, hunting (with license), kayaking, Loire by bike, tree climbing .... Our house will be yours for the duration of your stay and will allow you to recharge your batteries and take full advantage of this superb region of the Loire Valley, many castles are also close at hand. You can also choose to visit the Beauval Zoo, the Futuroscope of Poitiers, or the Cadre Noir of Saumur which are only 1 hour away, but you can prefer to stay on site and appreciate all the qualities of our house. You can stay there for a weekend, a week or more and deepen the discovery of this region.

Great family stay

A great house for a multi generational holiday with plenty of activities both inside and out to suit all ages. A lovely area with plenty of activities and places to visit. Would particularly recommend the wonderful Beauval Zoo.

Summer stay 2022.

A fantastic property with all the facilities you need for a family stay and plenty of room to escape. Our host keep us updated and if we had a question they were on hand to answer. We had a great two weeks and look forward to staying again in the future.

perfect family retreat

an amazing property. large in all aspects: the house itself but also the grounds around the house are huge but also very charming.Great size swimming pool and a very cosy “cour” for endless dinners/ barbecue ‘s. The atmosphere in and around the property is very peaceful and made for period movies

 Contact with the owner Sonia is very easy and all our questions were quickly dealt with.We had a wonderful fortnight with the Family.

Lovely stay in a great property

We stayed here as two families with three children aged 3 and under. The house was great with lots of space. The swimming pool, tennis courts, pool table and table tennis table kept us busy and there’s a huge front garden for garden games. The house is well equipped, nicely furnished and very clean and tidy. The host was very responsive and helpful with questions leading up to our trip and the whole experience went very smoothly.

Our stay in Fondettes was relaxing and most enjoyable. The house was very well located. It was a 5 hour drive from Calais. One member of our party travelled via train (St Pierre des Corps TGV station meant Gare Montparnasse in Paris was only 1 hour away) and another flew home from Val de Loire airport (only 15-20 mins away) to Stansted. Within a 2-3 min drive was a choice of boulangeries and an E Leclerc supermarket. The local Sunday and Wednesday market was small and functional with a large Sunday market at Langeais.The house itself was cool and calm, set in well maintained grounds and with a remote controlled gate. If you like old houses and their charm and story then you would enjoy staying here. It was as described in the words and pictures on the site. We particularly enjoyed the choice of outside eating areas and the heated pool and bbq. There were books in English and French, chess, a lovely pool table and outdoor games including table tennis. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. The kitchen was well equipped. We found that there was plenty to do in the local area: the chateau (and particularly the gardens) at Villandry were splendid; we went to a sound and light show at Azay Le Rideau and visited the model village of 40 Loire Chateaux. Tours was only 12 mins away - a calm, clean and friendly city with some good shopping and historic sites. We enjoyed eating out in the Old Quarter and also along Rue Colbert.

Beautiful rambling old house in extensive grounds

Lovely old French house in extensive grounds. The place had real character whilst providing modern facilities. Pool was lovely and open sided barn close by was great for eating out in the evenings. The house was so large we didn’t use most of the downstairs rooms!

Nous venons de passer un superbe week-end entre amies dans cette magnifique demeure. Tout est réuni pour profiter des lieux. La maison est immense, et permet à chacun d'avoir des temps pour soi. La piscine (chauffée, le mega plus !), le terrain de tennis, le jardin autour de la maison sont tout aussi plaisants. Le tout à seulement quelques kilomÚtres de Tours. Bref, location absolument parfaite !

We had a wonderful stay at La Thibaudiere. Just for one week with two families. We would have loved to stay for another week! Great place to stay with friends and family

Lovely property the BBQ area along with pool and games room made it a great sociable place to be with our group of friends. Only downside was I hadn’t realised that the bathrooms didn’t all have toilets in - there were only 3 toilets and one was broken so sharing with 10 people was not ideal but apart from that had a great time. Location ideal for cycling and exploring chateaus along with wine tasting!

Das Haus mĂŒĂŸte dringend in einigen Teilen renoviert werden (SanitĂ€ranlagen etc),leider nur 2 Schlafzimmer mit Toilette und eine Extratoilette zu wenig fĂŒr viele Leute.Die Lage ist etwas zu laut, Pool sehr sauber. Sehr negativ war die Vorderung bei Abreise Geld fĂŒr die KĂŒchenbenutzung zu verlangen.

Great house for a family or group of friends

We were 6 adults and 2 young children and chose this house because we were sure it would be able to accommodate our various sleeping preferences, which it did. There are plenty of beds, although some are in interconnecting rooms, etc., so might be better for groups of people who know each other well. Two of the bedrooms contain 5-foot double beds, the remainder are singles. There were also 4 bath/shower rooms and a couple of separate WCs. Everything was very clean. The house itself is very large - we didn't use all the rooms but lived mainly in the kitchen with its large table. All the things you would want - crockery, cutlery, cookware, serving ware - are provided in the kitchen, including a whole drawer full of IKEA plastic kids' plates, bowls and beakers. There is also a huge 'utility' room with a fridge freezer (brilliant for storing drinks and ice), washing machine and tumble drier. The kitchen has plenty of storage and a further fridge. There are two unprotected staircases to the upstairs floor, one from the hall and one rather twisty one from the kitchen, and toddlers would need to be supervised when close to them. Outside, there are substantial grassed gardens and of course the swimming pool and tennis court. The pool is protected by a cover and is also fenced off, with a secure gate, making it safe against small children. The weather during our stay wasn't great, and we appreciated the barn, which enabled us to have barbecues with the rain pouring down outside. I don't know what the house would be like in colder weather - the floors are tiled rather than carpeted and there is a certain typically French sparseness of furnishings - but it feels like a family home rather than a rented house, which to us added to its charm and made it a perfect place for a family holiday.

Brilliant family holiday!!

Our dream holiday in France was a house where the whole family could be happy and relaxed (10 adults 2 children), enjoy sitting around and eating meals together, not too far to travel and have plenty of activities to occupy us. We found our dream holiday at La Thibaudiere where we spent a magical 2 weeks in August. The owners and gardener could not have been more helpful throughout the process and we would happily return. We didn't travel far - though a local zoo and Tours botanic gardens are definitely worth a visit. Our time was spent in 30+ temperatures, enjoying the pool, tennis courts, table tennis and snooker. The supermarket in Fondettes provided us with all we needed, but there were other larger hypermarkets not far away. There were 4 areas in and outside of the house where all 12 of us could have meals together. The house is expansive and well maintained with everything you need. Could not ask for more. Our Grandsons keep asking us when we are going back to the holiday house!!

Fantastic house!

We stayed for a week at this lovely house, there were 6 adults and lots of children, there is so much space which given the (freak) weather we had was a godsend. The facilities are excellent, the kitchen is really well equipped with everything you need. The location is perfect you can walk into the local village where there is a supermarket, pizza place and bakeries. There are many places to visit a short drive away. I would highly recommend this house for a group holiday, we had a fantastic stay and certainly hope to return.

Fantastic!

We had a wonderful time for two weeks with our family. The house was more than big enough, the garden, swimming pool, tennis yard, everything was nice. For all ages there was something to do, it was nice to be on our own. It was proper. I would recommend it to everybody and we would like to come again. Also near Tours was great.

There are no words for it! You have to see it.

We stayed in this lovely house with 12 people. We were here in connection with European Championship Badminton competitions. I wanted a house that was as comfortable as possible for my players. I can say that this has been achieved! I am in many locations in the past but I have never seen anything as beautiful as this. It was authentic, lots of space both bedrooms and kitchen etc. Super clean super equipment, fantastic kitchen just too numerous to mention. Then the whole outdoor event, crazy pool, tennis court and a barbecue place mangefiek. In short, it is impossible to describe how good and beautiful it is. Here are no words for you just book it!! I have many acquaintances and friends given by the address and go here for sure back and most probably several times. The hostess was wonderful and also that made it all off to perfect. La vie de chĂąteau

Nous avons passé un trÚs agréable séjour dans cette belle et grande maison qui offre le charme des vieilles pierres avec un confort moderne. Nous avons été trÚs bien accueilli par la propriétaire qui nous a donné tous les conseils utiles pour que notre séjour se passe bien. La maison est grande et trÚs confortable avec en prime une piscine chauffée (27° !!). Lieu idéal pour les grandes familles.
