Located within 15 minutes of Beautiful Historic Beaufort, 15 minutes from Parris Island, and 45 minutes from the beaches of Hunting Island and Hilton Head, this waterfront getaway features 1 master bedroom with ensuite whirlpool tub and shower, a 2nd master bedroom with ensuite, and 1 triple twin bedroom, three full baths, a wonderful screened porch, and beautiful sun rises from our deep water dock. Crab, shrimp and fish right from the dock. Relax on the covered deck over the water while watching dolphins and stingray along with some extraordinary bird life including, Cranes, Herons, Pelicans and Egrets. Bring your kayak, paddle board and small craft and enjoy McCalley Creek! Take a trip from the dock to Hilton Head Island or Beaufort by the bay for some shopping and dining in your small craft. The home is centrally located between Savannah and Charleston. This is a great balance between peaceful country and access to Downtown Beaufort. At night enjoy beautiful views of our southern moon. Use the Gas Grill on the outdoor patio or relax in the screened in porch.

Beautiful and charming house and propery. Owners are amazing. Backyard and dock was such a great place for family time and fishing. Also very pet-friendly. Everyone loved it.

This place is a gem! Big, beautiful secluded yard. Spacious house with tons of amenities. Kevin and Jane left nothing out. The fenced in pet area off of the porch was great and even has a poop station with bags and waste disposal bin. Made morning and evening outings harness and leash free. Super close to restaurants and things to do. Great location for site-seeing and fishing. The dock is nice and roomy and perfect for fishing. It was so relaxing just sitting on the dock or in the screened porch watching the Spanish moss swaying in the huge oak trees. We didn’t want to leave and will definitely be returning! Thank you Kevin and Jane for sharing your paradise!

Nice quiet place to stay. House was spacious, clean, and as described. Fenced in area for the pets, ample outdoor seating, secluded back yard. Caught some nice red and black drum off the dock as well.

The trip was great! The house was perfect for our getaway and we had plenty of room to relax. The hosts were very nice, helpful and informative. Beautiful view, especially of the sunrise off of the dock.

This is a really nice, peaceful place to stay and we will book it again. The house was fairly clean except I feel that it could use a more thorough cleaning. Mornings and evenings on the dock are so peaceful watching the sunrises & sunsets with cool breezes. We rented this place last year and had a good experience. However, we noticed some issues this time. There were a few dead roaches on the floors and on the kitchen counter. There was some crawling in the kitchen also. There was something sticky on the floor behind the couch and trash behind it, and under the beds need cleaning. Saw some dog hair between the couch cushions and in the corners of the floors. The outside of the house needs a good bit of maintenance and upkeep.

Temp >100 degree and rain causes increased palmetto bugs. The exterminator we use treated sooner than quarterly to help. Hence the dead palmetto bugs! Lol! Our cleaning crew are coming in for deep cleaning. Thank you for letting us know!

The location, layout of house and pet accommodations were excellent. Location on marsh with easy access to water and location close to Beaufort and surrounding areas could not be better. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. We appreciated the privacy. The hosts next door were very accommodating and immediately responded to any questions/needs, but not intrusive in any way. We felt that there could be a bit more attention to cleanliness. But overall, it was a very enjoyable and relaxing experience.

This was an amazing place. The location was just perfect. The deep water dock gave us many hours of fishing and shrimping. Our puppy would stand at the door and wait for us to take him to the dock. I highly recommend it. I can't wait to go back.

Nice getaway

Nice quiet place with a perfect driveway for the kids to ride bikes along with crabbing off the dock. Short ride to downtown, all around good stay

Very nice place

Very nice place stayed for a week pleasant setting location was great for MCRD Parris Island went to a graduation for the Marine Corps close to beaches very enjoyable time

Private Dock made our vacation!

Private dock and the river gave ample opportunity to enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing. We had a great time!

Nice spot

We came down to visit our daughter and family, make memories, have fun and be plus have a spot for our boat. We accomplished it all. The owner was very attentive and kind to any questions or concerns we had.

Great stay for air show

Was staying in the area for vacation to stroll around Beaufort and take in the air show at the Marine base. House was in a great spot to take advantage of both. It was quiet and lovely in the evenings and a great spot to watch the Blue Angels from the dock during the day.

Nice Stay

House was a little dated but loved having a boat dock. Owners were very responsive. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful view

Beautiful view of the creek convenient location for going to Beaufort just about a 15 minute drive house was dated and the dock was a little sketchy, but it worked

Thank you for letting us know. We are a bit confused . The house has brand new wood floors, new paint. Brand new dishwasher, washer & dryer. The furniture is leather in order to clean it between guests. The bed linens are recently purchased. The dock is supposed to move with the water tide changes.

This was our 3rd time staying at Sunmist cottage and it won't be the last. The house is comfortable, the location is breathtaking and Kevin and Jane are always accommodating and easy to reach if need be! Thank you both for another great vacation!
