Great house in a great town!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week and didn't want to leave! We had 4 adults and 6 kids. We didn't feel at all cramped and the house is well equipped. We loved everything about the home and the town. The town is small and wasn't busy while we were there which was nice. You could go out for dinner and not have to wait which is so nice when you have kids!!! The beach is super close to the house and very nice. The water is shallow for awhile which makes it great for the kids. The beach has a big play structure and nice bathrooms, although not really needed since the house is so close to the beach. The water is GORGEOUS!!!! We rented a pontoon from the marina in town and went to Torch Lake for the day. It was a blast!!!!! So much to do around the area. We will definitely be back again next summer.

Hidden gem and great house!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for a week in August - two families (4 adults, 6 kids). Plenty of space to give everyone a room to call their own. Only shower/tub is upstairs but this wasn't an issue for us. Didn't catch the detail about no A/C, there are many fans throughout the house, just had to position them for ultimate air flow!

The beach is amazing and perfect for families, being in the bay made the waves very minimal and the water was shallow . . . allowing the younger kids some great freedom to explore the water. Speaking of the water, it's super clear and blue, great rocks for the kids to collect too. Playground (with shade) and restrooms right at the beach were the icing on the cake!!

Downtown Elk Rapids is small but packs a punch . . . nice gift and clothing shops, variety of restaurants (cafes, pizza, wine bar) and the town is super friendly and very walkable. Oh and the best donut shop, really. Also was very easy to travel to Bellaire (Shorts!!) and Traverse City. We also found a marina in town that rented pontoon boats, we loaded up the crew and made our way to Torch Lake for the day . . . easy trip and the kids had a blast!

Owner and all the others involved in the rental and check-in/check-out process were very friendly and easy to work with. Questions and issues were resolved quickly. We are already planning a return trip for next summer!!

All the comforts of home and a fantastic location!

  • 5 of 5

This is a home that offers everything..comfort, space and convenience for many or few! You can get or do whatever you want in town, which is a mere hop, skip and jump away. Really, you can see and hear Lake Michigan from the front of the house! And there are even more possibilities for things to do and see in the greater Traverse City area, so much that you would not be bored spending a week here, at any time of year. If you choose to stay and relax around the house, its large front and back yard, deck, living room and gathering areas won't have everyone getting in each other's way. It has all the appliances to let you do as much or as little as you want to...coffeemaker, dishwasher, washer and dryer, etc. All in all, this makes a wonderful home-away-from-home in a fun and inviting area to visit. Definitely want to come back to explore more of the area!

Snowy getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Great rental. We spent a snowy few days there and had a great time! We were able to do a lot in the few days because of the great location (skiing, traverse city, etc). Great home away from were able to play outside in the front and back yards when we weren't on the road. All the amenities of home..dishwasher,laundry, etc. elk Rapids looks like a great town..can't wait to visit again in the summer and walk to downtown! Could hear the waves of the bay as we were packing and unpacking car..your that close! Well be back for sure!

Awesome Rental Property!

  • 5 of 5

This is a great rental. The house is nice and big, accommodating lots of people comfortably. Town and beach are just steps away. Elk Rapids is a quaint relaxing beach town but close enough to Traverse to take a quick day trip. Would definitely rent again!

Great Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

The location was great! Close enough to walk everywhere. Enjoyed my daily walks around the beach, town and neighborhood. Visiting local bakery for fresh baked donuts should be on your list of things to do. Short drive to Traverse City offers something more to do during stay. House was large enough for families and friends. 2 car garage allowed extra space to store our stuff. I would be interested in renting this property again.
