This spacious, light-filled, cedar-shingled, classic 'Bay Header' recently underwent a gut renovation. Its timeless beauty still intact, the first floor has an open plan with an eat-in Kitchen, Dining/Living Room and half bath. Doors at either end of the house open onto the wrap-around porch, Kitchen slider opens onto the back porch which has an outdoor shower and a lovely view of the channel.
Upstairs there are five bedrooms (King, Queen, Full, Twin, Twin) and three full bathrooms (master en suite with double sinks, hall with bathtub/shower, and "Jack & Jill" with double sinks ).
The house has Central AC plus ceiling fans in every room. Cable TV and wireless internet are included.
This uncluttered and serene home is conveniently located 2 blocks from the guarded Bridge Ave beach, with a short walk to Twilight Lake, ice cream parlor, bakery, cheese/wine shop, restaurant, tennis courts, playground and NJ Transit Train Station with service to NYC.
The house is well suited for three couples or one couple with children and grandparents. There is excellent communal space as well as privacy.
Our family has been coming to Bay Head since the 1920's. We love Bay Head's natural beauty and its charming small town feel. Families like our's return year after year to enjoy its beaches, tennis courts, crabbing in the channel, and sailing in the bay.
This home is a short walk from the guarded Bridge Ave beach and is close to the amenities of the downtown - near Mueller's bakery, and close to the playground, the channel, and the municipal tennis courts.
We are within walking distance to the train station (1/2 mile) with NJ Transit service to New York's Penn Station which makes it ideal for an escape from the city.
Convenient by car via the GS Parkway (exit 98) or the NJ Turnpike (exit 7A) you can get to Bay Head from just about anywhere!
Boardwalks with amusements for children of all ages are available in Pt Pleasant immediately north of Bay Head or Seaside Heights 10 miles south of Bay Head.
We stayed here at the beginning of August 2016. First time for us in this house, 21st summer in Bay Head. It was perfect. House is clean, spacious, beautiful and comfortable! Amenities were great.... Outdoor shower, clean BBQ, kitchen utensils, cable/wifi, etc.
Location is ideal. We hardly ever got in the car!!! Huge for a mom of 3 who is constantly in the car shuttling them! Kids would go crabbing whenever they wanted and we could drink our coffee/wine from the deck and watch them!!!! We could pop across the street to the bakery in the morning or Dune Cafe for ice cream. Run down the street to the cheese shop for cocktail hour provisions. Farmers Market was an added treat. I could go on and on.
Beach is a super close walk. Beach is amazing.
Bill and Allison are awesome landlords. Nicest people.

2 families (including 4 teen age girls) had a great week at the beach! The house is spacious, clean, well appointed and in a great location (right in town and 2 Blocks to beach). Bay Head is a lovely community and has been our destination for 13 summers. This is our second summer at this house and our favorite one (it has the best porch is town!!). We hope to be back Again.
Just back from our second (six adults, two children) family Bay Head vacation in this terrific rental. Only two short blocks to the beach, this Bay Header is perfect for families! Cleanliness, large front porch and air conditioning were on our "must have" list and this place delivered! Immaculate and replete with amenities including master suite, updated kitchen, large living room with flat screen TV, two porches, large outdoor shower, and grill. Large open floor plan, but many areas for individual quiet time. Bakery and ice cream shop is across the street. The adjacent canal is perfect for crabbing, and tennis courts are nearby.

This house is great!!! An old, classic Bay Head beach house, completely renovated to perfection by today's high-end standards! The owner lives nearby and is very pleasant and accomodating to work with. The house is spacious, very well furnished and impecable. Great outdoor shower! Great wrap around proch for people watching and apres beach drinks or morning coffee. Adjacent to a small park along the canal which is a hot spot for crabbing. Only two short blocks to the beach. The house is perfect for families with small or grown-up children. The famous Muellers Bakery is a few doors down across the street. Directly across the street is the Swan Cafe that serves a great breakfast and lunch (until 3:00PM). Better yet, they have a great ice cream shop that serves until 10:00 PM). Only 5 minutes to Point Pleasant Boardwalk and amusement park. Only very mildly negative comment is that the beach chairs provided are not size appropriate for adults - perfect for children though. Suggest that you bring your own beach chairs. I very highly recommend this home as a perfect beach home away from home! We were 9 adults and found it to be very comfortable.
Bay Head is a charming beach community, with a New England feel. It is easily accessible
from New York City by train or car. It is family friendly, with lovely beaches, a playground, public tennis courts. Great town for walking, biking and roller blading. The town center has a bakery, an ice cream parlor and a small channel and a lake for crabbing. Nearby communities offer a municipal golf course, movies, and an amusement park with an aquarium and miniature golf. NJ Transit train from NYC's Penn Station and by car from GS Pkwy (exit 98) and NJ Tpk (exit 7A).

Weekly rate is $4800 (Off-season rates available). Refundable $500 security deposit, along with non-refundable $99 PDP (Property Damage Protection). Preferred method of payment is by e-check thru VRBO. If Tenant pays with credit card, the 2.9% surcharge charged by VRBO will be paid by Tenant.

House Rules: No Pets, No smoking in house or on porches, Park only in driveway, Beachgoers must use garden hose to rinse off feet, bathing suit and body before entering house or showering (thin applies to the outdoor shower as well as indoor showers) No wet bathing suits, clothes or towels on any indoor furniture. Nothing to be hung over any porch railing.
The following are to be recycled: newspapers, magazines, books, glass bottles & jars, steel & aluminum cans, plastic bottles with necks smaller than body. Please rinse all containers and place in blue receptacle under back porch. If receptacle becomes full, please bring items to recycling Center located at 214 Park Ave, Bay Head. Please note that pizza boxes are NOT to be recycled. Please tear pizza boxes up and dispose of in regular garbage bags.
Garbage is picked up twice a week. Only garbage bagged in white "Tall Kitchen" bags is to be disposed of in the outside receptacle (no loose garbage i.e. diapers or pizza boxes)
Refund Policy: If Tenant needs to cancel this lease Landlord will make every effort to re-rent the house at the same rate. If successful, Landlord would refund any portion already paid, If unsuccessful, Landlord would not. Traveler's Insurance is suggested.
