A recommander !!!
the pines holiday home can be reached along the A14 motorway, exit pesaro and continue for 20 minutes towards montecchio.
The small village of Farneto inside the walls of the ancient manor dating back to the tenth century. has kept its structure intact and from which a magnificent panorama can be enjoyed. Strategic place, where in the XV century the armies of Francesco Sforza and Sigismondo Malatesta stayed there and place of prayer, where the Abbadia Benedettina of S. was founded. Tommaso in Foglia, which became a renowned and rich church especially during the 12th and 13th centuries.
In the village there is a large and rustic square enclosed by brick houses and the church of San Martino (pictured above, in the background) which is well preserved and adorned with a curious bell tower. The walls surround what remains of the ancient Castle of Farneto which, founded on the ruins of the temple of Priapus, was submitted to the jurisdiction of the Abbadia of which followed the fate. Today remain part of the building and the walls that are the terrace for those who want to admire the beautiful surrounding countryside.
Farneto is also distinguished for being the birthplace of B. Michelina Metelli (1336) and the noble family of Farneti, including the jurisconsult Aurelio, mayor of Florence (1513).
Farneto is easily reachable from Pesaro via the Montelabbatese road and reaching the Apsella. From here take "via Farneto" which, after 4.5 km of asphalt road leads directly to Farneto.
