About this property

A stunning romantic 30 hectares park surrounds the historical Bouchet Castle. Recently restored, the 300 m2 East Wing of the castle is totally independent and settled to accommodate up to fifteen people (depending on the option). You will live in a peaceful, comfortable and refined dwelling. It includes bedrooms with antique furniture, shower rooms, private bathrooms, lounges with period panelling and staircase dating back from the Renaissance. It is equipped with a private heated pool and garden furniture. It offers a true atmosphere of a family house and lot of space. On the ground floor are a large living area with fireplace, small lounge, an equipped kitchen and entrance. On the 1st floor, you will find four bedrooms + private sanitary. On the second floor are two parental suites.

Amazing stay at wonderful castle property in Loire Valley

The castle is amazing, the grounds are extensive and Sophie, the owner and manager of the property super friendly and helpful. We spent 5 days in property to explore the Loire Valley. Property is conveniently located to visit all main attractions in the area. The swimming pool is great and the wing of the castle available to guests magnificent! Highly recommend property and owner to future guests!

Perfect experience

We had an absolutely perfect stay at the Château du Bouchet. Eight family members, spanning three generations, spent a week in late May at this beautiful spot. The Château and grounds are exactly as described. Host Sophie was wonderful, available to answer questions about the area and the history of the building. Most days we would take an excursion into the Loire Valley and then return to experience the peace and beauty of the château setting. We ate most meals outside and took advantage of the many bikes available to explore the property. This was a superb VRBO experience that we cannot wait to visit again.

Loire Valley Chateau

Excellent experience. The chateau and grounds were gorgeous. Lots of things to do right there on the grounds. The pool was the perfect temperature and were a great way to spend the late afternoons. There wer bicylces available to ride into Bauge. We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. The owners were always available to us when we had questions. We felt very welcomed and the hosts were very kind.

C’était Magnifique!

Words cannot describe how beautiful this property is! We walked around the Château, had wonderful dinners, sat by the pool, and enjoyed the châteaux nearby. The bedrooms were large and comfortable. Sophie was a wonderful host, and we very much appreciated her and her family’s hospitality during our week. It was a great getaway after a year+ of not being able to travel.We were sad to go. Merci beaucoup pour ces merveilleuses vacances!

What a wonderful chateau!

Having just returned to New Zealand, we are now in a position to reflect on our experience of staying at the Chateau du Bouchet during June this year. We had hired not only the main wing but also, to accommodate more family members, the two separate units with ensuites. At one time we were with 16 adults, including a few teenagers, but most of the time we had 12 or 14 in our party. Looking back on that week now I can honestly say it was a most wonderful venue for our holiday. The chateau is truly beautiful set as it is in the french countryside, in huge park-like surroundings, with the swimming pool less than a hundred meters away. Sophie made us feel very welcome and provided bed linen and towels. We made good use of the table tennis, the bikes and the BBQ. We were lucky with the weather so were able to sunbath, go out for walks, have short drives to the local villages and generally enjoy the local environment and people. The only shortcoming was the lack of good internet access. I understand that this is due to its remoteness but if you are not too worried about staying in everyday contact with the rest of the world that should not be a problem. In every other aspect, the chateau met all our needs and provided a beautiful, romantic backdrop for our holiday. We thoroughly recommend it and look forward to staying another time. Thank you Sophie!
