Wonderful comfort wonderfully situated

  • 5 of 5

My husband and our two friends spent a blissful week at Brian and Danielle's beautiful and beautifully situated home. The completely renovated 130 year old mansion can easily accommodate three times our number but is set up in such a way as to make it equally comfortable and welcoming for just the four of us. We visited magnificent chateaux and abbeys, shopped the scrumptious Loches and Amboise markets, prepared delicious at-home meals in the well-equipped kitchen, and followed the invaluable suggestions of the delightful Fanny, who met and introduced us to the property, to excellent degustations de vin and spectacular restaurants. The small and sleepy Genille with its terrific bakery, traditional café and well-stocked supermarket provided a cozy retreat from the bustle of our daily activities. Except for the days rushing by too quickly, nothing could've been better.

Memorable stay

  • 5 of 5

A family holiday for 12 aged 4 months to 88 years. We were well fed from the splendid kitchen, ensemble on the terrace. Provender came from the Sunday market in Genille and the Loches markets on Wednesday or Saturday. The neat counter I the local supermarket was good as was local bread. Otherwise hypermarkets were in Loches.

The Villa grounds were splendid including for swimming, table tennis and boules.

Outings tended to be in different age groups, whether to relatively near 5 star chateaux or to a local lake or the jolly bar in Genille.

Meals out included the restaurant next door (large table set up for us) and the classy restaurant in Chevigny.

The house is a stylish 19th century villa in which we would readily stay again.

The local agent was helpful and friendly.

Amazing Big Chill location in Loire

  • 5 of 5

Peacefulness and tranquillity, this place is a gem. The pool is great for entertainment and fitness. We enjoyed a delightful stroll at dusk through the small orchard and along the river bank, it felt magical.

Villa du Breuil in the Loire Valley is a fantastic BIG CHILL location with great friends and is highly recommended. It is fully equipped with everything you need for large groups &/or family holidays. We loved the kitchen!

For those that want a night off of cooking, the little restaurant just outside the gates is fabulous. However remember to book.

The small town centre of Genille is just a stone’s throw away from the front gates and there is a large local market in Loches, which is the next main village. Chambord and a number of other famous Chateaus are all within short driving distance.

We highly recommend and will definitely go again.

Brilliant holiday at a brilliant location!

  • 5 of 5

When I arrived at the Villa I was so impressed with its grandeur and at the same time its homeliness, it immediately made me feel comfortable and relaxed in its beautiful surroundings. The owners had clearly catered for everyone, from small children to some of us who are more advanced in years! This villa would suit everyone. The gorgeous swimming pool in the spacious gardens was amazing, and being surrounded by beautiful countryside and quaint villages made it so unique and unforgettable. I would definitely recommend this to my friends and encourage them to enjoy this experience.

Perfect Family Holiday

  • 5 of 5

The Villa met all and surpassed many of our expectations. We were a group of 11 and the bedrooms were perfect for our needs.

There were choices of living spaces and a real cook's kitchen. The extensive outside area accommodated all sorts of activities.

Villa de Breuil is well positioned for visits to all the great chateaus. We managed to visit many as well as strolling though local villages, especially on market days, but it was always a joy to return to the Villa during the afternoon and relax in the these stylish surrounds.

A special house in a beautiful setting - just perfect!!!

  • 5 of 5

We were lucky enough to spend a week at this beautiful property in July. As soon as you drive through the gates you can tell it is a special place. The house has old world charm including original flooring and a sweeping staircase with all the luxury touches you'd expect from a boutique hotel such as ensuite rooms, pool towels and great stereo / tv equipment. As each bedroom has its' own unique charms and there are so many ensuite bathrooms, no one felt they had drawn the short straw roomwise as can often be the case. The management team who we saw on arrival and departure were also friendly and helpful.

The village is calm with all you could need - bakery, lovely restaurant, mini-supermarket and ATM. We loved choosing meats, cheese and fruit and veg at the nearby Loches market and the town also has some history and nice restaurants as well as bigger supermarkets. The chateaux of the Loire are easily reached from the house but, having seen many of them on previous trips, we spent this trip mainly at the pool which was set up with everything needed for relaxing as well as an inflatable net for water volleyball tournaments! Eating every meal outside overlooking the well maintained grounds was a real treat. Thanks to this house, this was my favourite trip to the Loire so far!
