The Fleur De Lis Suite is located on the 2nd floor of the Drake House, right above Charlotte's Coffee House, which is located in the Historic Millwork District in beautiful downtown Dubuque. It is ideal for one couple, but can sleep four. Making it perfect for a romantic get-away, or business travel. It has one bedroom with a queen-size bed, and two full baths. There is a fold-out sectional in the living area. You can walk downstairs for a great-tasting cup of coffee, breakfast or lunch without having to leave the building. Also included is a fireplace, washer/dryer. The kitchen is fully furnished, featuring granite counter tops, and including a coffee maker and toaster. About Tim Rusk
My husband and I are native Dubuquers. We came up with this idea after staying at a cozy vacation rental in La Jolla, CA. It sat on top of a small restaurant that served breakfast and lunch. My husband spotted this property, and approached me with the idea, stating that if I wasn't 1000 percent "In", he would just forget about it. Needless to say, I was 1000% "In", and here we are, over two years and an additional building later, ready to share our dream with you! We hope you will love it as much as we do!
Tim Rusk purchased this Apartment in 2012
Why Tim Rusk chose Downtown
We chose this property for two reasons. First, we both grew up in this area of Dubuque. Second, we love what Dubuque is doing for the downtown area, and feel that the Millwork District will continue to grow and will be the place to go in Dubuque.
What makes this Apartment unique

We stayed in the "Fleur de Lis". Wonderful place!
Beautiful apartment, loved having Charlotte's coffee house right below us. We were on a motorcycle so was great having several great restaurants and bars w/ in walking distance. Cheryl the owner extremely friendly and nice! Would definitely stay here again
Beautifully restored historic buildiing
Very comfortable, nicely equipped., beautifully decorated. The hot tub and Charlotte's cafe just down below were an added bonus. Location is in walking distance from other restaurants.
My husband and I stayed in Dubuque for an extended weekend. We chose the Drake house due to the beautiful pictures on VRBO. We absolutely loved the decorating. The old building charm of the exposed brick was an added touch. The coffee shop downstairs was an added bonus and we visited it daily. It was a great stay!
Very nice, close to everything.
My daughters and I stayed for a weekend away before they were back off to college. The home is very nicely decorated, close to everything, and comfortable. The owner was very quick anytime I needed to contact him. And his mom is very sweet and helpful.
The only reason I didn't give a five is that if you are a light sleeper, you may have issues with the street noise. However, if you are someone who can sleep through anything, this is definitely a five!!
Could not have cleaner and more inviting!!! Everything was as represented...will stay again!!
The ownership pride really showed in this property!! All our questions prior to visit answered efficiently and unit was as described when we arrived. Clean C;lean Clean !! Coffee shop downstairs had awesome service and all the food we had was delicious! Yes there was street noise but we knew that before arriving and was part of the experience for a couple country dwellers like us. I will make plans to stay there again. Hot tub on deck was a nice bonus!! Meeting owners was nice....lovely place!!!
What a gem this place is! So quaint and beautifully decorated. The pictures online do not do it justice. The exposed brick is gorgeous and everything else is perfectly thought out. The hot tub on the deck was spotless and the robes to lounge in on the deck were a perfect touch. The coffee shop below was wonderful. It was an absolute treat to have breakfast and coffee delivered each morning. The location is within walking distance to everything... Millwork district, Main Street, even the river area. We used our vehicle only once the four days we were here. Our only complaint is that the Drake house is on a very loud street in a "up and coming" neighborhood. Lots of loud trucks and noise and we wouldn't advise venturing off the main streets. Didn't bother us much and wouldn't keep us from coming back. The owner was extremely kind and gracious. Always smiling when we saw her. Overall this vacation was wonderful. We Highly recommend the Drake house!
The best way to experience Dubuque is to stay at the Drake House Vacation Rentals, located in the Millwork District, in the heart of downtown Dubuque. We are the perfect alternative to staying in a hotel. Our three suites are all very homey and upscale. When you stay in The Fleur de Lis Suite, you know you're in Dubuque. It has a unique hint of French flavor, after Julien Dubuque, our city's founder, giving you a unique, inviting place to stay. It is fully furnished, including a full kitchen, washer/dryer, two full baths, fireplace, and it's own private deck, which includes a hot tub.The Drake House is located right above Charlotte’s Coffee House, so either you can just go downstairs and enjoy a great cup of coffee and breakfast, or if you really feel like being treated special, you can call down and have it delivered at no extra charge. Staying with us is considered an experience, not just a place to sleep! It is within walking distance to The Voices Art Gallery, bike trails, the Mississippi River, the Gym Fitness Center, several restaurants, and year-round Farmer’s Market.
Whether you plan to stay in Dubuque for just a weekend, or you need a place to stay for an extended period of time for business or pleasure travel, the Drake House is perfect for you.
