About Chad Arnouville

Chad and Jennifer Arnouville were born and raised in Louisiana and met while attending college. They were married in Fort Worth, Texas in 2005, where they moved so Jennifer could attend medical school and begin their careers.

They still reside in Fort Worth today with their two children, Claire and Isaac, and the family dog, Ollie.

The Arnouvilles purchased KMV in 2014 as a weekend retreat from a busy life in the city.

Chad Arnouville purchased this cabin in 2014

Why Chad Arnouville chose Smithville

We searched high and low, across several states for the perfect retreat. Oklahoma was not initially on our radar, but, after two failed attempts to purchase other vacation properties in Texas and Arkansas, we decided to expand our search.

We had always heard great things about Broken Bow and the southeastern part of Oklahoma, but had never visited the area. We viewed many cabins in the immediate area of Broken Bow Lake that were fully furnished and ready to rent, but fell in love with the seclusion and natural beauty of Bouncer Mountain and Kiamichi Mountain Villa.

We wanted seclusion in a beautiful place that we could really call our own. After purchasing, we spent the better part of six months revitalizing and furnishing the cabin to create a great place to retreat to.

What makes this cabin unique

The moment you drive up to the cabin the views will get the best of you. The cabin has a firepit with benches perched right on top of the mountain. Or, you can choose to enjoy the views from one of the 2 private decks. The front deck has a small firepit, perfect for roasting marshmallows and watching the sunset. The rear deck has an 8 person hot tub that is perfect for those late evenings and winter months. Sit and enjoy your favorite beverage underneath the covered deck and surrounding twinkle lights.

Beautiful cabin!

This cabin is stunning! The amenities were perfect! The views were breathtaking! Our group had a wonderful weekend here and we plan to be back in the future. We loved starting our morning looking over the mountain at the sunrise and ending our nights around fire.

A great view at a good price

  • 5 of 5

The house is secluded yet only about a mile down a gravel road off of US 259. We hiked in the nearby Winding Stair Mountain National Recreation Area, which is underappreciated. We appreciated the security of the locked gate. The view to the west is the highlight -- trees have been cleared just below the house so one can see the horizon and great sunsets. We had no problem with the well water, which actually tasted great. The bedrooms are not fancy, but the entire place is comfortable and well-stocked. The bathrooms have up-to-date fixtures. We didn't use the hot tub, but the firepit nearest the house was a great feature for us. Compared to comparable rentals in eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas we've experienced, this was a great value. You'll be especially impressed if you're an entomologist: the place was crawling with stick bugs during mid-October.

Almost 5 stars, but burned out light bulbs, 2 cracked windows, back bedroom disappointed a little

Well appointed getaway with a fantastic view.

Owner's Response: Thanks Debbie, I am having the cleaning person double check all the light bulbs, none should be burned. Thank you for bringing to my attention. One of the cracked windows at the very top unfortunately is part of a large set of windows that would be a massive undertaking to replace. So we chose to leave it. We believe it may have cracked because of shifting. I’m unclear why the back bedroom is disappointing though. We put a lot of thought into decorating our places and choosing well made furniture. Thanks again

Beautiful view, comfortable accommodations, serene setting

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kiamichi Mountain Villa! The owners have obviously put a lot of effort into making their place comfortable, relaxing, and beautiful. The view off the hill into the mountains is unmatched and provided us with an amazing sunset night after night. The outdoor lighting and seating areas allowed us to make the most of the beautiful setting, too. Everything we needed was easily accessible and the abundance of comfortable beds and generously-sized rooms easily accommodated our group of 6 ladies and we felt completely safe in secure at the home. There is plenty to do in the area (within an hour's drive). We drove to Heavener one day to Heavener Runestone Park, spent another day in Broken Bow shopping and visiting the breweries & wineries, and another day at the state park kayaking down the beautiful Mountain Fork River. Chad was very easy to work with and answered all questions and requests quickly and satisfactorily. Thanks for the great getaway, we will be back!
