We were two retired couples staying at the end of October 2025. The accommodation was charming and clean with an old world vibe - very good kitchen facilities, comfortable beds and well equipped bathrooms. The house is close to the center of town, easy walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops and gelaterias. Our requests for information or supplies was promptly met by Graziella. One thing to note is that this is an old home and the floors are very thin, so noise travels easily. We loved our stay in Baunei and I would highly recommend this location.

Amazing Stay in Baunei

We were so sad to leave this lovely house in Baunei. We enjoyed our stay immensely. The house was charming, comfy, and the AC worked beautifully to keep us cool. Cristine and Graziella were wonderful hosts who helped us book local dinner reservations, gave us tips on things to do in the neighborhood, and provided helpful proactive reminders.

Wunderschöne Unterkunft

Wir haben uns in dieser wunderschönen Unterkunft super wohl gefühlt! Alles war super sauber, sehr gepflegt und liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Umgebung ist ein Traum, eine tolle kleine Stadt, leckeres Eis, gutes Essen und genug Ruhe zum erholen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können das Haus nur empfehlen. Einziger informativer Punkt (hat uns nicht gestört): es gibt zumindest im Haus keine Waschmaschine.

Nice little 3 story village house

In the middle of Baunei, just a few steps away from the main square, you will find this nicely renovated 2 bedrooms village house. You will enjoy two bathrooms and your downtown (main square) living room. Have coffee, eat a slice of pizza and enjoy the scenery or just locals go by. Perfect place to start any trekking in the area.

Wonderful Village, Apt right in the Center

This apartment is about as centrally located as possible in Baunei. (Pronounced Bau - Nay: Your'e welcome!) It is only a 2 minute walk to the central square. Both bedrooms had AC which was a lifesaver during the July 2023 heatwave. It is otherwise very well shaded on a narrow street so most of the year is probably not necessary. The kitchen is quite small for preparing meals, I recommend mostly eating out. Some of the more AgroTurismo restaurants might need reservations well in advance of your arrival in peak season. The drive to Baunei from Olbia is quite adventurous, mostly curvy roads along mountain ridge and takes much longer than it looks on the map - for us more than 3 hours. It would be great to head back sometime in Spring or Fall to enjoy some the amazing trekking in the area without peak summer heat. Otherwise there are lots of options for boating, swimming, and snorkeling in nearby Santa Maria Navarrese which is about 25 minutes away and a 500 meter descent. Our host Graziella was easily reachable and helpful with recommendations including a local Sagre Mailetto festival while we where there- This was a big pig BBQ in the middle of town with a DJ and dancing and we enjoyed trying our best to mix with the locals. I can recommend both the destination and the apartment for your trip to Sardinia.

The apartment was beautiful and had everything you need. The location in Baunei is also wonderful and a great place to stay and explore the surroundings.

clean spot in great location

So much nicer than staying in a modern apartment on the beach. Felt like we were really part of this charming village. two minutes walk to the village square and two to the world's best goat milk gelateria. The house is like the pictures-- not a place to hang out in but you're not there to sit in the house. Wifi did not work at all while we were there due to a storm.

Was für eine tolle, lieb eingerichtete Unterkuft! So viele wunderschöne Details, vom Geschirr bis hin zu den Fensterläden- einfach nur schön und äusserst geschmackvoll! Auch der Rest des Hauses ist im Stil des Schalfzimmers gestaltet. Wir hatten uns anhand dieses einen Fotos für die Unterkunft entschieden und wurden nicht enttäuscht! Ein Ort um sich wohlzufühlen.

Wunderschön restauriertes Haus in zentraler Lage

Das sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtete Steinhaus im Herzen von Baunei läßt kaum Wünsche offen. Die Schlafzimmer sind geräumig und mit modernen Bädern ausgestattet und die nette kleine Terasse kann bei warmen Temperaturen gut für die Mahlzeiten genutzt werden. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt.

Highly recommend!

The house was beautiful and interesting. The layout was very comfortable, with a bedroom and bathroom on the 2nd and 3rd floors and the kitchen and TV on the ground floor. The town is quaint and relaxing, with restaurants/bars, gelateria, and grocery stores. The host greeted us and oriented us to the house and also arranged for us to have dinner in a nearby restaurant, even though we arrived quite late.

ei. Ursprünglicher Ort auf 500 m Höhe in einem schön eingerichteten Steinhaus

Baunei liegt auf 500 m, im Sommer schön kühl, wir waren jedoch im März 20 da. Das Häuschen liegt sehr zentral, die Küche warm-hearted etwas dunkel, da tiefer als die Straße und am Hang. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und Graziella, die Hausdame, hat sich rührend um uns gekümmert. Das war gerade die Corona-Woche, sie hat alles mit der Polizei organisiert, damit wir einen Passagierschein bekamen, um aus dem Ort auszureisen. Die Rückreise klappte dann einwandfrei. Nochmals danke, Grauiella.

full of character and comfortable

very clean and comfortable, well appointed, in a charming old restored house in the centre of town. Great position close to local facilities and quiet and night. Good bathrooms with plenty of hot water and comfortable bed.
