Perfect setup

Great location! Right on Rock Creek, on the South end of town to hit the pass or ski area directly, and walking distance to all of the restaurants downtown. House is well configured for multiple couples with a large open kitchen/living room and two bathrooms. Driveway was plowed despite recent heavy snows. Saw lots of deer every day and I'm sure plenty of other wildlife is around.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

I don't know where to begin! The house was perfect, the location was perfect, listening to the running waters at night was perfect, even the water pressure, perfect (that has been an issue in many places I've stayed!) my family and I rode bikes into town everyday. I highly recommend this place and if I'm ever in the area again, I'll stay here!

We spent two nights there in July. Very comfortable, clean and convenient. Although in town it has wonderful privacy and is literally a few steps from the creek. Grilled on the deck one night, nothing better than fresh wild trout on a cool evening. Also offers occasional wildlife viewing (Elk and Deer) and we had a baby bear run through the yard one evening. I would not hesitate to stay there again and would recommend to a friend.

Red Lodge House

  • 5 of 5

The house was very nice. Nice large, wrap around deck. Very cute, little town with many shops and restaurants on the main street which is walking distance to the house. The owner was pleasant and easy to deal with. Would stay again :-)

Exceptional lodging

  • 5 of 5

Located just a few steps from a creek with small rapids, we we soothed to sleep by the sound of running water. There is a wide deck on two sides which we used for reading and dining. A new, large gas grill was perfect for grilling out.

Each of the large bedrooms was tastefully appointed, the beds were comfortable, and with two bathrooms, one off the master bedroom, no waiting was required. The showers were terrific.

The very large living room has a beautiful stone fireplace which was not used because it was warm during our stay. Couches and chairs were abundant and comfortable.

The kitchen had excellent appliances and was roomy enough for two people to work.

The location allows for wonderful walks and is within walking distance of Red Lodge's down town.

The cost was less than that for two rooms in any local motel so that in addition to the home-like setting we also saved money and it could have accommodated at least 6 people.

We were delighted with every aspect of this beautiful property!

We will be back.

Red Lodge Mountain is great for skiing and snowboarding in the winter, while having several hiking trails to enjoy throughout the nicer months. There are several great day trails and also extended backpacking trails to enjoy. There is a golf course right in town featuring many lakes and several creek crossings, with a signature island green on the back 9. Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary has several animals, most whom have been rescued, and definitely worth the trip (don't miss the bears). Just take a short, beautiful drive to Bearcreek to see pig races from the end of May until Labor Day weekend. Watch the pigs grow from the beginning until the end of the racing season. Drive 66 miles over the Beartooth Highway to Cook City Mt, just on the edge of Yellowstone National Park. Cooney Reservoir is 22 miles away where you can enjoy water skiing and many more water activities. Fly fish or kayak Rock Creek that flows right through the town of Red Lodge.

There are several fun bars within a 1/2 mile of the lodge. The Snow Creek is always a good time, usually featuring at least one band on the busy weekends. Blue Ribbon and Snag Bar also are worth checking out. A couple favorite restaurants are Carbon County Steakhouse and Foster and Logans, but there are several other good restaurants really close by. If you want to go Whitewater rafting it's a short drive over to Stillwater River. There is a lot of hunting close by with options of having horse guided trips. Climbers will enjoy the height and climb of Granite Peak. Ride your bike on the Beartooth Highway going to the what many refer to as the Top of the World. Yellowstone Nat Park NE entrance is aprx 70 miles. Old Faithful Lodge around 157 miles.
