About this property
The Oak at Millsite Farm
Our guesthouse is a 1880's barn that has been meticulously restored. The central portion of the guesthouse offers a rustic dining area, full kitchen, separate men's and women's restrooms. The loft has been converted into one spacious bedroom with a king bed and five twin beds. A double murphy bed is located downstairs in the large sunroom which boasts a breathtaking 270 degree view of the property.
Our 9 acre property encourages you to get outside and take a walk along the crystal-clear Cold Creek that's teeming with trout, or enjoy our cozy firepit with seating. Several picnic tables are on-site for casual, outdoor dining as well.
The grounds are beautiful and feature an abundance of wildlife: bald eagles, deer, heron, mink and muscrat are commonly seen.
While the setting is charming and rural, the guest house is less than 15 minutes from Cedar Point, Kalahari, Lake Erie Island Ferry Service, local wineries and downtown Sandusky.
Maximum allowable occupancy is nine, but larger groups will be considered with owners approval.

The property and house is beautiful! It was the perfect girls weekend getaway! The host was incredibly nice and we all felt very safe staying there! The area around is fun too! Hit the book bar and nickel plate beach!
Second time at this property to enjoy a relaxing stay in conjunction with an exciting Cedar Point trip! The loft provides a great space for the teens to hang together after visiting the park. We really appreciate the early check in for Dad!
This is a beautiful location to stay, no matter what season. The original, rough beam structure of the old barn blends beautifully with the cozy 4 seasons room to provide plenty of space to be comfortable. It also had a fully equiped kitchen! Our host was kind and very patient during our reservation snaffu. She was also on time and proactive with checkin information as well as reaching out, afterward, to thank us and invite us back if we should want to return. The Oaks is definitely, permanently on our list of favorite places to stay!
We highly recommend staying at the Oak at Millsite! The property is serene and so beautiful. The house was very clean and beautifully decorated. The hosts were very kind and helpful with any questions that we had. They were very quick to respond. Thank you Jewel!
The cottage was the perfect venue to relax/host family ..all coming in town for family graduation party. The great room was so nice and open which was definitely a plus with covid looming. Property is beautiful...thanks for your hospiality😎
The house was clean and it was very nice setting but on day 2 of our stay my husband was sick and couldn’t go to Cedar point with us and while he was on the sofa he heard someone unlock the door and come in. It was the owner who had 4 couples out on the porch. She was very surprised to find my husband there and said she needed a book. If you value your privacy find somewhere else to rent.
Everyone in our small group instantly fell in love with this property. So much more than we expected! Beautiful surroundings, beautiful home, very comfortable, and welcoming host. Two bathrooms doesn’t tell the whole story. Four toilets, four sinks and vanities, two showers and privacy. Very well stocked kitchen. You can cook all your favorite meals. A huge table will accommodate the whole family. It’s wonderful!
The setting was very nice and a relaxing get away for my wife and I. The property was well maintained & clean. This would be a nice location for a family vacation or a romantic getaway for two.
This home was beautiful! The housekeeper keeps the home very clean. The home is on a large flying fish recreation area. There is a stream near the property. Simply beautiful! You can take some lawn chairs out and relax. The home is about 15 minutes from Kalahari and Cedar Point. I refused to stay in hotels near amusement parks. You will be happy you stayed at this home!

Hidden gem!!
This cozy cabin was the perfect place for our family getaway. It had everything we needed, and then some! The property is so beautiful...well taken of and a great place to see nature at its finest. We loved feeding the trout in the creek, watching the eagles fly overhead, seeing deer graze, and many other animals. We also enjoyed fishing in the lake and pond. The property is conveniently situated close to many tourist attractions too. Doug and his staff are so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely return.

Amazing retreat!
We rented this wonderful place to stay in over the weekend of our son's wedding in Sandusky. We couldn't believe HOW nice everything was. We'd read the reviews, saw the online pictures, but it really doesn't do it justice. Doug was so gracious to us. Because the days before we came and after we were to check out were not booked, he generously let us come early and stay past the check out. He even stopped in to say hello and to see if everything was satisfactory! The house was warm and inviting, comfortable, luxurious, close to nature, easy drive to attractions, spacious, beds were comfortable, spotlessly clean everywhere, nicely furnished kitchen,... just absolutely beautiful. The grounds were park-like. Just a short walk up to the clubhouse were some of the most fantastic grounds we've seen. Ponds, gardens, streams, trees and flowers. This is much more than a "cabin". It felt like a lodge, but even better than that. We'll definitely go back... many more times hopefully. Doug; we can't thank you enough for what you've provided for us during such a special time.

Relaxing, beautiful property!
The owner was so accommodating with our early arrival. Such a beautiful property overall...B&B, cabin we stayed in, and a home for rent as well. It sits on a beautiful spring fed stream with trout. The cabin sits near two fields that provide a beautiful and relaxing view. Saw many dear and birds. If you have trouble with steps all the beds are upstairs in the loft. Loft with four twin beds and a king size bed is open dorm style sleeping. The sun room is soooo lovely. I quilted all the time we stayed there. Plenty of room to work on big projects. Just loved it there!
