Big Rock vacation rentals

We booked our Christmas week stay in October and a week before our scheduled arrival learned that the property had been double booked due to an error with VRBO. The owners were nice enough to offer us their Malibu beach house as a solution. We were disappointed at first as we’re looking forward to daily tennis, but agreed to accept the trade. The property manager Sarah was very apologetic for the error and made our arrival seamless and welcoming. What a fantastic time we had walking the beach and sleeping to the sound of waves. It all worked out and in retrospect we were so happy for the initial booking error and are forward to visiting again!

This house is amazing! It is right on the beach, the views are spectacular! We saw dolphins and seals! The house was clean and welcoming. The beds were incredibly soft and comfortable! The Avantstay team was helpful and kind and welcoming. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars....it's just incredible!

Very thoughtful with the snacks and such (and lots of USB plug ins which is very appreciated!), good communications via text, and great location - can walk to Duke's. Love the beach access, but could only get to sand early in the morning on lower tide (if that is your thing). Love the floorplan and overall feel ... will be back for sure.

We so enjoyed our stay at this beautiful Malibu property. We never left the house and sat and looked out at the ocean from sunrise to sunset. The perfect little dipping pool was refreshing and ideal. We also loved our walks out on to the trails with beautiful ocean views. Highly recommend!

The house was absolutely beautiful and had everything we needed. I was really impressed with all the little things that were available not to mention the high end necessities. The downstairs Accommodations were perfect for the younger adults. The host, Kevin, was the greatest. I highly recommend this location for the most pristine beach vacation!!!

What a neat place! It was so neat to experience the ocean, beach, changing tide and sea life at this beach house. It had a great location to access stores and places in Malibu and LA. Waking up in the morning at high tide feeling like you are looking off the balcony of a cruise ship, down at three feet of water and checking out the fish, watching the tide go out to show a beach, crawling (crawling is literally the correct word!) down the private stairs to the beach… we found huge starfish, 1,000’s of mussels, made great friends with the neighbor dogs out to play. We watched the neighbors out snorkeling with their boards and all of a sudden there were 8 dolphins swimming right around them! The lighting in the house in the evening is even better than the photos and the sunrises, sunsets and lights of LA, watching the planes line up over the ocean at LAX - it was all a changing landscape of beautify and just a unique place. I would note if you are a light sleeper (me) you might want a sound machine as the waves crashing below and the cars on the PCH are a bit loud. This is also a true beach house - no ac or heat but all the windows open and they have space heaters in every room - we were very comfortable in December with warm days and cold nights. I also found the PCH and parking on the road/pulling out easier than I was expecting but expect to not want to hang out long at the car. We hope to rent this home again sometime. Management company was also very responsive.

Stunning unit, clean, with a beautiful view. Great communication from property manager and conveniently located. Only drawback is the overall neighborhood quality of Malibu seems to have diminished in recent years.
