About Mike and Gina Friccero

The cabin was built by Gina's Dad in 1972. A retired Marine, he enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. We have continued to update it and added the new deck. All of the rock work in the fireplace and walls, as well as walkways outside were built by Casey Peru, Gina's Dad. The beautiful light fixtures and one of a kind wooden tables, lamps and cabinets were also built by Casey.

Mike and Gina Friccero purchased this cabin in 1972

Why Mike and Gina Friccero chose Idaho

We inherited this property and all of Casey's amazing work when he passed away a few years back. We decided to rent it so that we can continue to improve and update it.

What makes this cabin unique

Bird watching is amazing. On the flight path for many migratory birds, combined with a large, diverse bird localized population there is always something interesting to see. If you enjoy the back country you can drive or hike to many beautiful areas.

Beautiful riverside cabin

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the cabin, the views of the hill side and Salmon river where breathtaking. The cabin was very clean and suited all of our needs for our relaxing vacation. Communition with the owners Mike and Gina Friccero was easy. Having stayed in other rentals in the area this was by far the best and I would highly recommend this for your stay. We will hopefully be returning in the spring and next fall again.

Amazing getaway

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was all we expected and more, truly special location, ambiance, comfort, and convenience, highly recommend it

Our goal was a remote getaway with lots of exploring by ATV and this was the PERFECT place to do it

Lemhi Pass and the Continental Divide, Bayhorse ghost mining town and alpine lakes at 9000' or higher by Challis, Wallace Lake and lookout points right above the town of Salmon - it was all beautiful and fun. Coming home to the cabin was perfect end to our days and we thank the owners for sharing this spot!

This cabin was tucked back into beautiful Idaho scenery, but yet was located by lots of fun things to do. It was absolutely stunning and honestly I could have spent my entire vacation in the cabin. I would definitely recommend this place!!

Beautiful, relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

We loved this cabin! The setting couldn't be more beautiful, with the river just off the deck and the mountains on the other side of the river. The huge deck out back was the perfect place to hang out, read, eat, and soak in the stillness.

The cabin itself was fantastic. It's a real cabin, and you can see the woodwork on the joints, walls, and it instantly transports you to a different time. The walls are all exposed wood which give it a cozy feel to it. The beds are all super comfortable, even (especially?) the pull out sofa. We used all the beds and slept nicely. With the curtains drawn, the cabin stays really dark, so it's easy to sleep in, if you'd like.

The kitchen is open to the living room, so it's easy to keep everyone together and engaged while cooking dinner or breakfast. The gas BBQ worked nicely, and provided a fun alternative to cooking some meals.

Overall the cabin has a wonderful feel to it. It has good vibes, it's clean, and has the intoxicating scent of woods. We couldn't love it more.

very comfy and peaceful, the cabin had everything we needed.

we had such a wonderful time and was so peaceful and beautiful.

The two things that we would have liked more was knowing how to work the heating and something more than children's programing on Netflix and more tv programing.

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your time at the cabin. Not sure what happened with the Netflix, they have a huge library of material on their site. The heat is electric and operated on the baseboard of each unit.
