This was our second trip here this year. We will definitely be planning to come again. It is so secluded and intimate.

Could use hot water for the shower and we couldn’t find an easy way into the river to raft or swim, which was frustrating.But a relaxing setting on the river with a fire pit (wood was furnished) and cozy porch to enjoy coffee in the morning (a French press was furnished!).Sheperdstown was an enjoyable town to visit.

There are steps to the river to the east of the fire pit about 20 feet away. Sorry about the shower temperature, it is just not practical to get warm water to the outdoor shower, particularly in this price point. We do try to warn guests that it will be cold shower though.

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at the Stone Cottage. It was exactly what I was looking for—a quiet, peaceful solo getaway with no distractions and plenty of space to simply relax and enjoy being alone. The property was just as described and provided the perfect setting for some much-needed quiet time.The hosts were wonderful. I never even needed to speak with them in person because everything was so well prepared and easy to navigate. They were very responsive through text whenever needed, while also giving me complete privacy and space to enjoy my stay. That balance made the experience even better.If you're looking for a peaceful place to unplug, slow down, and enjoy some solitude, the Stone Cottage is a wonderful little escape. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and would absolutely stay again.

Wonderful place to stay, near a great little town full of history, the Potomac river was relaxing to sit in and enjoy the day.

Peaceful, Clean & Convenient to Area Attractions

My second say at this cabin, definitely want to visit again. The cabin is private, clean and cozy perfect base of operations for day trips around the area.

Adorable tiny house with a very comfortable bed. Location in front of the Potomac and a short stroll to a 19th century historical cement factory ruin. Very dark and quiet at night, but not isolated. Next door is a house selling eggs. Caveats: I made this reservation in the heat of summer when the idea of an outdoor shower sounded refreshing. By the end of September however, temps were in the 50's and 60s and the outdoor shower seemed less appealing. But an old-fashioned ewer and basin were handily provided for washing up indoors. The outhouse is clean and well lit and easy to get to. This is a rental for those who want to go one step up from camping and exchange the tent for a heat pump, microwave and a comfortable bed. Deer visited us and the path to the shower is lined with native wildflowers. There's coffee and tea but bring your own herbal tea.

Relaxing getaway

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our second anniversary. We wanted just a quiet getaway and it was the perfect place. Definitely will have to come back again.

This was the perfect Valentine's getaway weekend for us. I booked the stay as a surprise, and my partner loved it. We are already talking about coming back some time. It was tidy, intimate, and peaceful. We cooked over the fire the first night, then on the grill the next night because it was raining. Both days we saw ducks, geese, and deer. The drive in the mountains was lovely as well.

I had a great stay here. Cabin was very clean and cozy! The location is beautiful! Listing was accurate, hosts were responsive. Definitely somewhere I would like to visit again.
