We had a lot of fun relaxing here. Geneva made excellent breakfast and suppers and we spent the majority of our time relaxing on the deck/hammock reading and hiking around the property and the town of Kentucky. If you want an escape from the tourism scene, this is a nice place to go!
The Dragon Fly Cottage is beautiful and relaxing place to stay. Geneva and her family are wonderful people committed to providing a place of comfort for their guests. They helped to make my first trip to Jamaica HEAVENLY. I am grateful for the experience.
Worth the drive up for comfortable sleeping temperature and amazing views. A beautiful, peaceful property and even more beautiful family. Geneva is an amazing cook! I highly recommend eating at Good Hope. Super convenient and a great value. Come book with them and experience the real Jamaica!
If you love a country, nature experience this is the place for you. Amazing host family, amazing indescribable view, amazing food, comfortable bed and seating. The outdoor shower is a wonderful naturalistic touch and the outdoor sink for the kitchen.
Our absolute favorite part of being in Jamacia was staying in the Dragon Fly Cottage hosted by Geneva and her husband Shawn and their three sons. Everyday Geneva would cook a fantastic breakfast and dinner, served hot and after the meal would take the dirty dishes away. Right off our deck was avocados, jackfruit, all spice, papaya as well as a mango tree just down the path. The view was amazing. The rain on the tin roof, the treefrogs singing, the multiple hummingbirds and geckos made every day a new peaceful adventure. We have made great memories at the Dragonfly Cottage and have definitely made some great friends.
If you want to live in the jamaican mountain-paradise, you’re more than right with Geneva’s and Sean’s „Good Hope Retreat“. After two weeks of holdidays we definitely knew we found a golden nugget up there and we actually didn’t want to leave. You live in a quiet cottage, so quiet that you can listen carefully to every sound of the jungle, at the same time you have a beautiful view at the ocean and are breathing the fresh mountain air. The hosts are very lovely and always help you out or give you some advice and knowledge about Jamaica. We somehow didnt meet as strangers, but as friends. And we laughed, played cards and even ate together. Btw I would definitely try Geneva’s dinner, she is an amazing cook and you always end up with something new and typical Jamaican on your plate.
We fell in love with the family of Geneva and specially with their retreat. What they give you isn’t a simple holiday, but a completely new experience of life.
Just go and see it for yourself ;)
One love.
