About Carma Shay
I was born and raised on Kodiak Island from age the age of 13 I helped my mother operate her bed and breakfast. Having my own has always been a dream of mine. My husband and I spent the last 10 years finishing college and starting our family and careers in Fairbanks. Last August we were blessed with the opportunity to move to Kenai. We purchased our dream home April 2015 and we look forward to sharing our peace of paradise with others! Over the last year we discovered why the Kenai Peninsula truly is Alaska's playground come see for yourself!
Carma Shay purchased this House in 2015
Why Carma Shay chose Kenai
We love Cannery Road area, in the middle of the wildlife, the beach and we are in close proximity to everything the Kenai Peninsula has to offer! Easy drive to Kenai, Soldotna and Kasilof.
What makes this House unique
Our home has beautiful woodwork throughout as well as a unique layout designed to take in the beautiful surroundings and ocean view. It was once an artists loft :)

Beautiful, clean, location for a peaceful get-away with my daughter. Thank you Carma for the delicious cinnamon rolls and smoked salmon!
What a blessing
I was lucky to find this place and Carma was nice enough to stay open later into the season than usual. The apartment is so well thought out and makes brilliant use of the space. I was extremely comfortable and my work trip to Kenai would not have been the same staying anyplace else. Great views and a wonderful host and I recommend to anyone visiting Kenai. Perfectly located less than 10 minutes to downtown. An easy 90 minute drive to Homer to the South and Cooper Landing to the East as the roads were still clear.
Thank you! We enjoyed meeting you and hope the rest of your "vacation" to Fairbanks was enjoyable and not too cold!
Great hospitality in Kenai
Carma is delightful. She allowed us to arrive early and welcomed us warmly. The unit was clean, comfortable and has a great view of Mount Redoubt. Each day Carma would leave us a new treat - smoked salmon, fresh peaches, wild blueberries and waffles. Always a nice surprise. She helped us with directions and suggestions for activities in the area. Carma advised they would soon be offering Wi-Fi and TV connection which would earn this property a 5 star rating.
Thank you Alice! Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. I hope you enjoyed our video library. I do wish we could offer internet separate of satellite however there is no service provider in our area. Hopefully next summer we will have satellite TV set up for rainy days spent inside. There are a few things around to do inside including a fantastic wildlife refuge exhibit.
Hope you are enjoying fall. Thanks again for your kind words.
My wife and I found the property nicely arranged and the special treats that Carma Shay delivered each day were a very pleasant and welcome surprise. The apartment was comfortable and the views were a welcome sight at sunrise and sunset. Access to the Kenai, Soldotna, and surrounding area's was very easy. Perhaps the nicest thing was coming "home" to the peace and quiet of the Ocean View Inn property. Dylan's smoked salmon was superb and abou the family dog reminded us of our family dog at home. We would definitely consider staying there again.
Thank you for your kind words! Glad to hear you were so comfortable here. Can't wait to try out your jalepeno smoked salmon recipe!
A great getaway for our 20th Anniversary!
We stayed at this cute little place in Kenai, Alaska on our 20th Anniversary. The owners were awesome! They helped us find things to do and really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable in their place.
The homemade Alaskan Rhubarb Coffee Cake on the table to greet us was amazing! They even invited us to grill with them on their awesome patio that looks out to the Cook Inlet, however we got back from seeing all the sights in town too late and didn't make it that night. It was always nice to come back to a clean and comfortable place after a long day of adventures!
There are so many things to do and see within an hour of this place in any direction! We enjoyed fishing for sockeye salmon on the Kenai River, hiking in the mountains above Cooper Landing, sight seeing at Skilak Lake, and a float plane trip to fish and bear watch out of Soldotna! I only wish we would have had another week!
If you are looking for a cute B&B in Kenai you should consider this place. We were definitely not disappointed!
The family and I really enjoyed visiting with you both and getting to hear about your great adventures! Hope to see you back soon!
Great Visit, Sightseeing and Dipnetting the Kenai
We had the most superb time on the Kenai! We had so much fun staying at Carma's Ocean View Inn B and B. The view of the mountains through the window was simply gorgeous. We gathered with some family members to do some Sightseeing and Dipnetting. Carma assisted with suggestions of places to visit in the surrounding area. She also showed us where to access the beach. We also used her grill to cook our catch of the day. What a fine service, lawn and with a view to boot! And did I mention location? Second to none. Less then 3 minutes to the beach and minutes away from stores and local entertainment. Her establishment is centrally located for day trips to outlying areas such as Clam Gulch and Homer. Just ask Carma what's happening in the area and go have fun! Carma seems to have a knack in finding our needs, whether it be breakfast choices, providing us with such soft towels, directions, personal needs. Second to none, hats off to Carma and her family. I will be coming back!
It was a pleasure hosting you and your family! You all are so much fun! I hope to see you all back here next year for some more dipnetting fun!
Centrally located off Cannery Road our location puts you in close proximity to either Kenai (5 miles), Soldotna (10 miles) or Kasilof (8 miles) why fish only one river when you can fish all three? Bring your four wheeler and enjoy the freedom you have on the beach! The beach is a short 10 minute walk along our gravel road and path along cannery road. After a day of exploring, Enjoy dinner at The Flats Bistro a short bike or car ride away and relax back at your room overlooking the wetlands where you are sure to see our shore birds, eagles and moose.
