This is a beautiful house with easy to use facilities, comfortable furnishings and beds, a lovely courtyard and an amazing location minutes from Darling Street and more importantly the Royal Oak. We'll be coming back!
Iona is a wonderful host. Her house is comfortable, spacious with all the amenities required for a great holiday. Balmain is a great location with easy access to the city centre.
Iona was a welcoming and very helpful host! She met us when we arrived to get us acquainted with the space and was so warm and friendly. They even went through the trouble to repair and set up a cool antique cot for our baby, and had a special boat bed that our three-year-old son loved! We had everything we needed to get good rest during our busy stay in Sydney, and loved being walking distance from the Balmain ferry and restaurants.
Iona was an amazing host. She went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable during some very hot Sydney weather. The house is excellent and only a short walk to busses and ferries into the CBD. Iona's restaurant recommendation was excellent. Thanks for a great holiday.
What a great place Birchgrove is. Quiet, charming, lovely places to eat and hang out, water at the end of the street and a delightful property at the Abode. We loved it and will surely be back.
Amazing house minutes form the high st and the ferry to circular quay Great to see a different part of Sydney in a house that’s obviously had a lot of care in its renovation Host was very helpful drone army to check to checking on us to make sure all ok
Amazing home in one of the most beautiful areas of Sydney, close to every beautiful beach and a stones throw from Darling Harbor and all of the attractions that Sydney has to offer.
House was lovely. Conveniently located to Darling Street with loads of cafes, restaurants, bars etc. Bus stop around the corner that takes you to Town Hall/QVB in the city in about 15 minutes.
We felt right at home in this charming, artsy, well-stocked cottage. We found it roomy, clean, comfortable and conveniently located. Our lovely and attentive host, Iona, met us for a walk-through and gave us details about the walkable, quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed drinking coffee in the intimate tropical backyard garden while listening to the wild lorikeets and laughing kookaburras. The two large upstairs bedrooms featured comfortable beds and pillows. The master had a portable air conditioner that kept the room cool, while the second room had great airflow. The large upstairs bath included a shower and a separate bathtub, as well as a full-length mirror, plenty of towels and toiletries. We wish we had more time to explore her cozy downstairs library, which included many interesting titles. We appreciated all the kitchen amenities, such as the Nespresso maker, cooking pans, gas stove, full-fridge and condiments - perfect for morning coffee and heating leftovers. We walked to church and several local restaurants where we were treated like regulars. Our favorites were Charlotte's Cafe, GiGis and Crickets sports bar. The bay was literally at the end of her street - a mere five or six houses down - providing views of amazing sunsets and sunrises. We also walked to the wharf and nearby parks, where we watched the spectacular 9 pm and midnight New Year fireworks! We thoroughly loved our one-week stay in Sydney, in large part, to Iona's home away from home.
The abode was in a lovely location close to the water and village with east access to the Sydney via boat or bus. Iona was a brilliant host and went above and beyond to help us with our stay for which we are very grateful. Thanks!
Loved it!! This house was better than I could have imagined. We really enjoyed our time. The location is incredible and easy access to transport, cafes, shops and restaurants. Everything you need is in the home. This is an eco house and the airflow through the home is incredible. The beds are so comfortable and I just felt happy being there.
Iona was a pleasure to deal with and was super helpful with any questions we had.
Will stay here again at the next opportunity we get.
