My guests and I found the house to be very pretty and spacious. The hosts were quick to reply which was must appreciated. It was communicated to me 15 min prior to check-in that the hot tub had been experiencing on-going issues and was unavailable for use. The reason I chose this house was for the hot tub. I understand maintenance issues happen but the phrasing made it clear they had prior knowledge and I would have really liked to have had the option to cancel (without a full refund) a day or two before and find a new place. I had a group of 8 in a house that fit 16 so I could have found something closer to the city w/out a hot tub. Not being notified earlier felt unprofessional. To add to the disappointment, my guests immediately notified me of ants in their rooms. They were in the kitchen, many in the stairwell, a couple found in beds, and some in the bathrooms. I let the hosts know who assured me a team had sprayed 2-3 weeks prior. This all occurred on my actual birthday which I understand is irrelevant but for context, did make me feel pretty bummed out. The hosts did make one concession for my group and I which I much appreciated. I'm sorry to be leaving a less than nice review but needed to share my honest experience. It's a lovely house but with the fireplace inoperable, the hot tub potentially unavailable to you and maybe ants, you're left with just a lovely, spacious house.
