Mike and Kim have a wonderful place right by Kennebec river. Very relaxing, quiet, serene and close to many beautiful hikes. We loved our stay and would be happy to come again.
Great location for hiking up some nearby mountains for awesome views. We were lucky and had some sunny fall days for the amazing fall colors. The section of the Kennebec river where it is located is a private and relaxing place. The cabin is cozy, with modern updates and provides all the basics plus some extras. Nearby is the Kennebec River Brewery and restaurant.
An amazing place to stay
What a fun place to escape to. Nestled in the woods and next to the Kennebec River was the perfect location. Mike and Kim were very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. The cottage was very comfortable and had all that we needed. When booking the cottage, there were certain things that looked familiar about the cottage but we had never been there before. When we arrived and read in the cottage notebook that the cottage was featured on Maine Cabin Masters we realized that we had seen the cottage before and it was during the episode of Maine Cabin Masters. So fun to see all the things that were featured on the show and how a blank building had been restored as a cottage for Mike and Kim. Too many things to do in the few days we had. The area is full of fun places to explore/hike and all the people we came into contact with were exceptionally nice and friendly. The food/servers/chefs at the local restaurants were also exceptional. All in all, it was a wonderful escape from the Phoenix heat. Looking forward to booking the cottage again but for a longer period of time. Thanks Mike an Kim for a great getaway.
Great hosts nice place love the fire pits and paddle boards. Wish it had a tv but I guess that’s the point when being remote ish. Best host ever and such a peaceful spot
We arrived to the cottage and were impressed right away. Very clean, nice cottage with a personalized welcome sign awaiting us. Beautiful cottage. Wish we had more time to stay and enjoy the amenities - wood stove, fire pit..etc. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend this cottage to anyone.
Whitewater Rafting is the big industry in town, several outfitters who offer rafting trips on 2 different rivers are a short drive away. Fishing, right outside your door. Fishing guides are available, fly fishing or spin casting, bass or trout and salmon. Hiking: we are located on the Appalachian Trail, and there are also several short hikes close by. Swimming: out front, or we can point you do some secret spots
