Villa Ad Astra es una de las 4 villas compartiendo 1,5 hectáreas de terreno junto al mar en Wadduwa 35 km al sur de Colombo. La propiedad incluye una piscina de 16 metros, una pista de tenis de césped, el personal y casetas de vigilancia. Desde la sala de estar es una terraza con vistas al jardín, la piscina y la playa, amueblado con una mesa y sillas para que pueda cenar dentro o fuera de la puerta. La Villa cuenta con acceso directo al mar. El famoso Siddhalepa Ayurveda hotel es nuestro vecino más cercano, donde Ayurveda tratamiento puede ser reservado. La casa también tiene su propio tratamiento Ayurveda banco de masaje para el tratamiento profesional de la casa.

A wonderful stay

Villa Ad Astra is set in beautiful gardens overlooking the beach and is the perfect place to relax and be well cared for by Nilanga the site manager who was also our careful driver and Deepika and her team who cooked the most wonderful meals, so much so we didn’t want to go out and try the local restaurants.We would highly recommend a stay here.

Milanga took great care of us, driving us around anywhere we wanted to go. We saw and took pictures with an elephant, fed monkeys, and saw so many varieties of birds and animals on our river boat cruise, which was amazing! Also, our meals were all very delicious and prepared, and everything was kept tidy. We appreciate all their hard work and care for us! We would love to come back one day!

Perfect stay

We stayed at villa ad Astra for a stay with our 1 year old baby. The whole stay was absolutely perfect, the manager Nilanga and the staff at the property were so helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. As a family we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning. Before we arrived we communicated with the organisers and the communication was prompt and very helpful. Everything was catered for. Thank you so much for making our stay perfect!

Wonderful Villa in a beautiful country

The villa was spacious, clean and comfortable with an amazing pool and gardens. We stayed here for 5 nights and were very well looked after by the manager of the property and the ladies who were there to cook meals if needed. The food cooked for us was the best that we had during our two week stay in Sri Lanka! Communications with the owners while booking our stay were so easy and pleasant. We would highly recommend this villa for a relaxing stay in this part of the country.

Family Reunion

We came to Sri Lanka to visit extended family. We had a wonderful trip at Jan’s villa. The home was absolutely amazing and so comfortable. The staff were incredible and so kind and thoughtful. Our kids had an amazing time swimming in the pool, playing at the beach, and going on adventures nearby to see the sea turtles and other nearby attractions / family in town. Thank you so much for sharing your vacation home with us. We had an incredible time.

Beautiful, spacious villa with large shared pool - right on the beach

We enjoyed seven days at this wonderful villa. It's not far from Colombo airport (about an hour), which makes it perfect from a short or long break. It's extremely clean, the rooms are large and the staff are brilliant - very friendly and helpful. The food was also great, as was the big shared pool. The best part was waking up every morning to hear the waves crash on the shore. We'll be back!

A very Tropical setting...

Fantastic staff onsite to help you with anything, whenever. Such lovely people. The villa and grounds are fabulous and very scenic. You will relax without any trouble here. We went at the beginning of the Monsoon season, and although the weather was up and down (rain and thunderstorms), the views of the storms out of the windows upstairs were magical. It was exactly what I was looking for, coming from the intense heat of Dubai.If I were to add anything to the villa, it would be an AC unit downstairs, also in the main living area, so that we could close the doors and cool the room a little while eating inside.

Paradise in Wadduwa

We stayed here for the 4th time and Jan's House is just a little paradise. After the bad news of Colombo we changed our plans and travelled back to the house and can say that this is one of the safest places you could stay at. As always Thilak and his crew were looking after us greatly and the food was fantastic. The house is since 8 years in the same good shape and with the spacious pool and awesome sea views you cannot wish for more. Thank you Jan for having us stay at this wonderful oasis.

Superb

A lovely house that is spacious, comfortable and clean. Thilak and his team were excellent, provided delicious meals and catered quietly and efficiently to our every need. The outside area and pool are equally lovely. Galle, the tsunami museum and sea turtles are all worth visiting. Good supermarket in the village. There are better beaches in Sri Lanka so probably not the place if you want a beach stay but otherwise I would highly recommend this place.

A fantastic villa in beautiful grounds with lovely pool

We have just returned from Villa Ad Astra and had an amazing holiday at this property which is quite beautiful. The villa is very spacious and extremely comfortable, the grounds are really well-maintained and the pool is just wonderful, with the beach just beyond. We were so well-looked after, fantastic service from the team there. Beyond the villa (if you can tear yourself away), we cannot recommend Sri Lanka highly enough as a destination - lovely people, so much to see and do with interesting cities, wonderful wild/birdlife and beautiful/varied landscape. We will be back!

A perfect place for a family holiday with lots of privacy and excellent service!

This was our third stay at Villa Ad Astra and it felt like coming home. The service of Thilak and his staff is excellent. The house is decorated with taste and the furniture is of very good quality. The pool is huge and cleaned everyday. Furthermore the property is very safe being surrounded by a wall and having 24hr security. It is an aussum place if you are looking for a place with lots of privacy, space and very friendly staff. It is like in a hotel but 1000x better. We feel very happy to be able to spend our holidays in such a paradise. Thank you!

Wow! Stunning stay at Villa Ad Astra

We are a family of six who had a truly wonderful stay at Villa Ad Astra. Everything was perfectly organised from the moment we arrived, including a delicious welcome lunch. The villa has a menu with meals that can be prepared for you, or you can choose to shop locally. Nilanga, the Villa Manager, was fantastic—he arranged fresh seafood and groceries, organised transport, and even accompanied us on trips to help with translation. His calm, helpful nature made everything easy.The villa itself is beautiful, and the pool was a highlight—we swam every day!The staff were exceptional. Depika, the chef, prepared amazing meals. Sumana, the caretaker, and Nirosha, the helper, were always smiling, friendly, and attentive. Their warm presence made us feel right at home.Tanushka, the gardener, even climbed the coconut trees to bring us fresh coconuts!We also want to thank the owners, Jan and Agneta, who were incredibly responsive and helpful in the lead-up to our trip.It was a relaxing, memorable holiday, and we can’t wait to return! Unforgettable and amazing

We came here straight from a long flight from the UK and had 3 nights with our 3 children age 6, 8 and 11... And it was incredible! I wish we could have stayed here longer and as soon as we were there, we stated to think about when we could come back! There was so much space in the villa, the kids loved the pool, the beach was epic and so quiet.... And the care and attention of he staff, chef and security is on another level! It is the perfect location to come with a family, and we would love to come back with other family's renting a couple of the villas that share the space. Our chef was so kind and thoughtful, and it was a huge comfort to have the security and fence around the property, as it meant we could relax with the kids having some freedom and space. Absolutely loved it! Thank you!

Beautiful setting, fabulous villa, perfect staffing

We had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful villa for 3 weeks July/aug2016. The pictures really don't do it justice....I do not normally bother to write a review once home. The chef/manager was on hand to help with anything...phone sims, advice on travel and receipes .... My husband being a keen cook intended to cook with him but was so impressed decided against. The grounds are large and only one of the other villas was ever rented out....but the pool is plenty big enough to share tho we only shared it on a couple of occasions. The grounds are constantly being groomed and the beach(sandy) really is only through the gate. It is a place to relax and chill and be waited on...literally. There are only a few bars in neighbouring hotels to walk to....so if you are looking for lots of night life this is not the right location. We used it as a base and did a couple of 2 day trips around the island, drivers can be arranged at a reasonable price. We also used the trains which were much quicker and cheaper to travel around. We felt very safe all holiday and the owner was very courteous and helpful in the booking process. We would recommend this villa and country to anyone considering it.

Spacious, peaceful, and thoughtfully cared for, with a wonderful pool and grounds that invite you to slow down and truly relax. But what makes Ad Astra extraordinary is the people.Deepika’s cooking is world class. Every meal was exceptional and easily the best food we had anywhere on the island. Sumana kept the villa immaculate with quiet grace and incredible care, even with two small children constantly on the move. We also had the privilege of support from Bati, who cared for our children, especially our baby, with tenderness and warmth that felt genuinely personal.And then there is Nilanga. A true standout. Kind, attentive, joyful, and endlessly helpful, nothing was ever too much trouble. His presence alone elevated the entire stay.Through the warmth of the team, we also connected with the local community and were met everywhere with generosity and kindness. Jan and Agneta have created something remarkable, not just a home, but an atmosphere and spirit that feels like a small slice of paradise.Villa Ad Astra is not just a place to stay. Ein traumhafter Urlaub im Paradis!

Wir durften in diesen wundervollen zwei Villen insgesamt 12 unvergessliche Tage verbringen. Die Lage direkt am Strand ist einfach traumhaft, die Sonnenuntergänge sind unglaublich. Die Anlage mit insgesamt vier Häusern ist perfekt gepflegt und herrlich schattig und sonnig zugleich. Es gibt einen weitläufigen Garten mit großen Palmen der bis zum Strand reicht. Es ist alles eingezäunt, den Strand erreicht man über eine Türe, die nachts abgesperrt wird. Es gibt einen Sicherheitsdienst, der 24 Stunden vor Ort ist. Das leise Rauschen des Meeres, die herrliche Natur sowie die Tiere vermissen wir jetzt schon! Der Pool ist riesig - wir hatten ihn bis auf zwei Tage komplett für uns allein. Ein absoluter Traum! Der Strand ist eigentlich recht sauber - ja, die Flut spült etwas Müll an, aber wir haben schon viel schlimmeres gesehen. Die Wellen waren teilweise recht groß, trotzdem konnten wir an ein paar Tagen mit den Kindern ins Meer. Den Sonnenuntergang genießen auch die einheimischen Familien am Strand - die Singhalesen sind extrem freundliche, offenherzige Menschen. So waren die drei Frauen, Deepika, Sumana und Nirosha, die uns täglich mit unglaublich leckeren Gerichten bekocht haben auch das absolute Highlight! Nochmal ganz herzlichen Dank - so viel Aufmerksamkeit und Herzlichkeit ist sehr selten! Auch die beiden Manager, Nilanga und Rex, sowie unsere Fahrer (Indy und Susante) waren extrem hilfreich und immer für uns da. Danke für eine wundervolle Zeit! Absolute Empfehlung!

Schöner Aufenthalt mit Mängel

Villa AD Astra Erstmal die guten Dinge: Großes Haus mit Personal. Das Personal ist Top. Wenn man Lebensmittel einkauft, wird auch Abends gekocht! Das Zimmer wird jeden Tag sauber gemacht. Der Pool ist sehr groß und die Anlage ebenfalls. Beides sehr sauber. Das Haus liegt direkt an einem tollen Sandstrand der öffentlich ist. Wenn man Waschmittel kauft wird auch die Wäsche gewaschen und zusammen gelegt. Nilanga der Manager hilft wo er kann. Tuk Tuk‘s bekommt man an jeder Stelle. Aber einfacher mit Pick Me. Einkaufen kann man auch gut. Negativ: Leider ist es auch sehr laut wenn alle Villen ( 4 )belegt sind. Wir hatten einmal Kindertheater am Pool und dann junge Leute die Party gemacht haben. Unglaublich 8 junge Leute denen alles egal ist. Trinken im Pool obwohl es verboten ist. Ein Surfbrett das immer im Pool gelassen wird. Das Frühstück kostete 5 Dollar pro Person. Nicht wirklich günstig. 20 Dollar bei 4 Personen jeden Tag….. Das Haus ist in die Jahre gekommen und müsste dringend renoviert werden. Der Tennisplatz ist auch in keinem so guten Zustand. Abends ging nur ein Strahler, daher war dannkein Spielen möglich. Leider hatten wir auch mehrere große Schaben in Haus. Zwei Häuser weiter ist eine Hunde Auffangstation. Daher Gebelle morgens und Abends. Die Bahnstrecke ist ebenfalls sehr nah hinter den Häusern. Man hört tatsächlich jeden Zug. Alles in allem war der Urlaub trotzdem schön. Das nächste Mal würde ich allerdings ein einzelnes Haus mieten, nicht eins von vier.

Paradies am Strand

Die Villa ist wunderschön, sehr gut gepflegt und durch die direkte Lage am Meer ein absoluter Traum! Das Meeresrauschen, die leichte Brise, die Sonnenuntergänge- wir sind verzaubert. Der Garten ist herrlich schattig und der Pool ein absoluter Genuss. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter läuft unkompliziert und zuverlässig. Thilak ist die gute Seele des Anwesens, liest jeden Wunsch von den Augen ab und ist ein Goldstück! Vielen Dank - wir kommen gerne wieder : )

This really was a wonderful villa to stay in with exceptionally helpful and friendly staff and delicious cooking...we will definately be going back.

Villa AD Astra

Had a lovely time at Villa AD Astra. Staff were fantastic, especially Mr Thilak. Would recommend that the outside furniture is upgraded as one chair broke when it was sat on due to it being rotten. Otherwise I would recommend to friends & family

After many years working and living in Asian and European countries we are now back in Sweden. We have two daughters with families and kids.

When we lived and worked in Sri Lanka in the mid 90th's we became very fond of the people and the country. Ever since, we have travelled back.

Together with 3 other families we purchased land and built our own holiday home.

The location was very much decided because, it is on the beach, not too far from Colombo but still on the fantastic west coast.

Villa Ad Astra is a place for relaxing, swimming, walking / jogging and when you feel for it depart for tours to the south, to the mountains or to Colombo.

Our family and grand kids loves it here and the village elephant can be asked to come to the villa for an exclusive ride!
