We had a lovely stay at The Old Bakery. We were meeting family and this was ideal for 8 adults, an infant and a dog! The photos don't do this place justice! The garden is beautiful and we were lucky enough to see a bit of sunshine.I would recommend The Castle at Edgehill. Good food and great views. The pub in the village is good too but doesn't serve food. We also visited The National Herb Centre, which is just up the road.

Beautiful property. Very well equipped and maintained. Jackie and Michael were a delight to deal with - they made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The property comfortably accommodated our party of 4 adults and 5 children. We would absolutely book again.

Good communication with host/property manager, smooth check in process and good location as a base to catch up with friends/weekend in the countryside. Suitably equipped to cook meals. Would recommend
So beautifully presented, imaculately clean and Jackie has thought of everything youll possibly need. Perfect for all the family. Lovely village with 2 local parks for kiddies. Only downside for us was 1 walkable pub that doesnt serve food and opens at 7pm. But everything is 5- 10min drive. Gorgeous gardens and a really enjoyable stay.

Well-appointed cottage with period features and lots of personality
We had everything we needed, the kitchen is especially well-equipped and we did lots of cooking. The house is clearly thoughtfully put together, but some of the decor could do with updating (i.e. the victorian era marmalade poster in the kitchen has to go). The garden is stunning and perfectly maintained with beautiful flowers which really made our stay magical. Thank you to Jackie and Michael for setting us up for a perfect weekend.

Thankyou for your lovely review. I am sorry you were offended by the Victorian antique poster which has now been replaced.
We had a lovely weekend in The Old Bakery. Such luck with the weather so we were able to really utilise the beautiful garden. Lots of utensils and pots and pans for the amount. The cleanliness of these items wasn’t perfect but no hassle, we just washed as we went. Dishwasher provided as well so no problem.

Thank you for your review, I am so glad you all had a good time. I do hope the wedding goes well and the weather is kind to you.
I am sorry the cleanliness of the pots and pans was questionable, not at all sure why but I have taken what you said on board and will take care that is put right.
We booked this property to accommodate us whilst we were going to the F1 at Silverstone. We were met bang on check in time by our host Jackie who promptly gave us a tour of the house and amenities. They even went to go as far as printing off a missed ticket and bring it round later in the evening - very accomodating. We spent the afternoon in watching the Qualifying with some nibbles and cooked up a dinner for the evening. Everything we needed was available in the house. Plenty of beds available and a very comfortable living room to relax in. Unfortunately it had been raining so we couldn't enjoy the lovely garden, but there's always next year! Thanks again Jackie

We as a family loved the property and will not hesitate to be back … we truly loved the area and great location for everything we wanted to do.. parking is fun :)
Excellent location, good circular walks from property, Banbury's Spiceball Park is great, good local shops and all the main shops. Easy drive to venues, we had a couple of perfect BBQ's on the brick BBQ. Great stay.
We stayed for 3 night over new year. We were a party of 2 families, 4 adults and 4 children in total. Not forgetting the 2 doggies of course! Jackie & Michael could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. The cottage is absolutely lovely and so well furnished. We had everything we could possibly need and we really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is fairly remote in terms of amenities, but that is exactly what we wanted. If you do need anything, it is a relatively short drive. We will definitely be back and can’t thank Jackie & Michael enough :)

Pre-Christmas international family in a perfect Home for the occasion.
We enjoyed our stay enormously, was just perfect in our circumstances as one family residing in different countries + the creation by the owners of an outstanding Christmas atmosphere. We were fretted like friends, with numerous personal touches. Lovely home atmosphere.

Lovely cottage with everything you need for a quiet, country retreat
Stayed with 9 friends for the weekend. The cottage is lovely and spacious. The village is beautiful but no local shop or anything and the pub closes for a bit in the day, no food served or anything so you need to plan ahead. There’s an Aldi and Tesco 10 mins away in the car. We walked 40 mins to Cropredy and had a drink in the Brasenose Arms which was lovely. The hosts were very welcoming and showed us around. The cottage has everything you need. Only thing was the description said there were towels and a hairdryer but we didn’t see any, only hand towels in the bathrooms. The double beds are small doubles, and the singles are actually camp beds but they were comfy. Not a lot of room though if you’re above average sized. Beautiful garden area and a small drive for 3 cars. There’s also toys and things for small children if you require them. Music has to be down by 10pm and you do get a polite reminder, so if you want somewhere for a mad party this place isn’t for you. Overall a fabulous location for a relaxing weekend with family or friends and good value for money too. Great host and beautiful cottage, we had a great stay and definitely want to book again

Difficult, but cannot recommend
This is a difficult review because the owner of the property, Jackie, was unfailingly nice and responsive, and when eg. the downstairs loo broke it was fixed immediately. The gardens are beautiful. The property itself is old fashioned, dark and dusty. It had only been superficially cleaned and there was a lot of dust and spiders etc in corners. The bedding is very old and heavy, mattresses uncomfortable. Small beds, and as many packed into each bedroom as will fit — I don’t think realistically more than 3 adults/ 3 children would be comfortable here although probably 10 beds. There were no basic supplies in the kitchen (no salt, pepper, cooking oil) and parcels for the owner piled up outside and I had to ask for them to be removed. Most importantly, and this cannot be blamed on anyone, the location of the house is not great — although a fairly large village, there is nothing to do in Mollington. No shop, no proper pub (certainly not one that serves food) and no church. In order to get anywhere, you must drive and cross over the M40 which rumbles in the background and in order to get to any nice “Cotswold” villages (Burford, Daylesford, Broadway, Chipping Campden) it’s at least 40 minutes by car. I am sorry to leave a negative review, truly. The house has potential.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lengthy review. I am only sorry you found the house and location so disappointing.
It will take too long to refute
all your comments so I have just picked out a few.
Mattresses and bedding are a personal choice and I am sorry they did not suit you. We use Dorma because we consider it to be good quality. Incidentally ninety per cent of bookings over the last ten years have been for parties of ten and there have been no complaints about the capacity of the accommodation or the comfort of the beds. The house had had a thorough clean as usual.
Supplies… It is a self catering house however I DO supply wine, sugar, coffee, tea, washing up liquid, dish washer tablets, salt etc etc (sorry you did not find it.)
Location- A study of google maps might have been advisable as it shows all the villages close by with their excellent pubs serving food.
It shows that the particular villages you wanted to visit were 40 minutes away so the house may not have been a wise choice for you.
I am glad the bells from the 14th Century Church in the village did not wake you. It is a shame you did not find the church as it is only a few hundred yards from the Old Bakery.
You do not mention the children’s playground in the village, which I know your delightful children enjoyed.
I had no intention of embarrassing you Francesca by making the following comments , however your review leaves me no choice.
In all the ten years of renting.
I have never had the house left in such an awful state, particularly the kitchen and dining room. I found very soiled children’s underwear in the washing machine and a soiled sheet left on the clean mattress .
I advise future landlords to think carefully before accepting booking from these guests.
A beautiful property in a beautiful area. Jackie was a superb host! My friends and I had a great hen weekend. The house provided a perfect back drop & base :)

The Old Bakery was the perfect setting for our New Years stay. The property is spacious, clean and well-equipped. Jackie, the owner, also very kindly met us when we arrived to give us a tour. Lots of lovely walks in the nearby area and pubs for lunch. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Aangenaam groot huis
Vriendelijke en behulpzame eigenaars, proper en ruim huis, mooie tuin en omgeving, alles aanwezig wat je nodig hebt. Enkel jammer van het lawaai van de autostrade.
Bedankt voor het aangename verblijf.

I am so sorry that the noise from the Motor Way ia mile away disturbed you. The wind must have been in the wrong direction during your stay. I do hope that it will not stop you making another visit.
