Silver Cottage is a renovated SilverSmith's dating from the early 1800s. It has had a total renovation and is now the ideal location for a peaceful retreat. It is situated at the end of a private lane that leads into open countryside between the hamlet of Hunton and Yalding village. It is silent at night with only the odd tractor during the warm summer days. Yet the village of Yalding has excellent pubs, a restaurant, a cafe (for great coffee), the excellent Yalding Organic Gardens, a village shop, post office, access to the river Medway (fishing, canoeing etc) and many historic buildings and features. It is a glorious walk to Yalding in 20-30 minutes or a 5 minute drive.
On entering the front door of Silver Cottage there is a cloakroom to the right with a large walk-in shower. The next room is a twin bedroom with plenty of built-in storage. The rest of the ground floor is taken up by the kitchen / diner and sitting room. The kitchen is large and has a dishwasher, washing machine and fridge. The dining table seats six and there are two sofas, a TV, stereo and a fabulous wood-burning stove. Under-floor heating is fitted throughout the ground floor. The main bedroom is upstairs and has a generous en-suite bathroom with roll-top bath.
The cottage has its own private garden and terrace, private parking, use of the owners' tennis court (by arrangement) and charcoal barbecue.
The cottage would suit a couple or a family looking for a rural, summer holiday or those looking for a cosy winter break, snuggled inside with the wood-burning stove. The building has been insulated with modern products and holds the heat in winter and is cool in the summer.

Property was fantastic, exactly as advertised and an absolute beautiful secluded location.
Mary was most helpful and accommodating
Lovely English countryside surrounds. Happily stay again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was very relaxing to return to the quiet cottage after visiting the sights. We especially loved watching the wild animals, for eample fox, rabbits, Pigeons and Robins. Thank you for the lovely welcome package with our own eggs and other specialities. It was a wonderful vacation.
Silver Cottage was a lovely, well appointed place which provided for almost all of our needs. Mary was very responsive, kind and helpful. We would happily stay here again!
We had a very nice stay at Silver Cottage. Beautiful and quiet surroundings. Everything we needed was available and a lot to do and go to nearby.
We hope to come back again.
We enjoyed Silver Cottage, having very nice weather, as an operating base for visiting beautiful gardens and homes in the region and making great walks through the green hills.
Cute little cottage in a lovely location. Great place if you have dogs, lots of space for them to have a run. The owner left fresh eggs and some Christmas treats which was a lovely touch. Cottage has everything you need and we managed to entertain on Boxing Day. Felt a little disappointed that there was no wood/matches etc for log burner on arrival as we arrived late (ensure to take you own as it’s not provided). We did feel it was a little tired and maybe things like crockery/cutlery and soft furnishings would benefit from a little updating.
Ideally situated for discovering Kent and London, accessible in an hour by train, very quiet, warm and comfortable. The owners are welcoming and attentive.
Stunning cottage in equally stunning settings. Very grateful for Mary’s hospitality and the welcome extra were a lovely touch. Look forward to returning here in the future
Our hosts could not have been more helpful. Silver Cottage was even better than the photos. The bath was luxurious and the bed was very comfortable. The area was quiet and we saw rabbits, birds and squirrels from the living room
Silver Cottage is delightful. It has provided us with a calm, cosy home from home. Superbly equipped and comfortable. Would heartily recommend this to friends.
Lovely, cosy cottage that has everything we needed for the week. Very quiet, rural area with lovely field to look out on and for the children to play in. Owner was lovely and on hand via texts to help when we needed her. Welcome basket was amazing!
We were very comfortable at the cottage: nice beds, comfy sofa, good shower and lovely bath. Enough hot water and a well-functioning heating system. Thank you also for the nice treats on arrival and the quick communication. The lane is really quiet with a lovely view across the fields. We look forward to staying with you again.
We spent a very relaxed Christmas here. We were very comfortable, warm and cosy. The cottage was well equipped although the size of the fridge was a little challenging. There are plenty of walks from the door. The private garden would be great to enjoy in the summer. Overall, a good experience
Silver cottage is well placed in the heart of the Kent countryside. It's down a dead end lane so there's on traffic noise. It was so peaceful at night . We enjoyed hearing the owls at night and the birdsong in the morning.
The cottage is small but well appointed. It was immaculately clean. Great heating system. Comfortable beds. Fully fitted well equipped kitchen and has two bathrooms
Plenty of options for walks from the front door.
Just what we wanted. Thanks.
What a cute little cottage this is. We were in the region visiting family and it was so lovely to come 'home' to Silver Cottage each evening. The welcome basket was an added bonus. The set up is low-key so you don't need to worry about breaking anything. The owner who we messaged with is swift in her communication and seemed very 'chilled'. The cottage sits down a private lane on the edge of a field with lots of walking opportunities. The drives down the country lanes was the only downside for us. Many are single tracks and cars tear down the streets at speed. Can highly recommend Silver Cottage.

Wonderful holiday!
We (Dutch family of four with two teenagers) enjoyed our holiday (one week in April 2018) in this Silver Cottage very much! The old cottage is situated next to a few beautiful old houses in a central area. The cottage is freshly painted and decorated in a beautiful style. The roll top bath is lovely as well! The dishwasher, washing machine, oven etc make life very enjoyable. We visited the white cliffs of Beachy Head, wow! Canterbury is a an old town with funky little shops with for example a fudge kitchen! Brighton is great as well! For the garden lovers: Sissinghurst Castle is near by and worth a visit! Do join the tours in the garden and house. We visited Rye as well. Do climb the stairs in the church and enjoy the view. We loved it all! Thank you so much for this wonderful week!

I'm so glad you had a fantastic time staying at Silver Cottage and enjoyed all the wonderful activities and places to visit in the surrounding area! It's great to hear you made the most of our beautiful (and sunny!) pocket of Kent. Please come and visit us again soon.
Enjoy!
Sehr angenehm, gemütlich, gute Ausstattung. Ausreichend Platz für 4 Erwachsene. Schöner Blick in den Garten. Tolles Willkommenspaket.
Sehr schön ruhig und ländlich.
Wunderschöner erholsamer Aufenthalt in Hunton/Kent
