Named after the pretty blue shells to be found in Fiscavaig Bay is a beautifully designed modern, Architect designed, Skye Cottage, designed to reflect the changing moods of Skye.
The colours of sea and sky have been used throughout the interior design.

A large airy spacious, open- plan sitting room, breakfast room and kitchen. Huge windows and high ceilings take advantage of the stunning views and wonderful sunsets.

We had a nice week with great sunsets. Thank you for this amazing cottage. The Fairy Pools and the Talisker Bay are in the near and very lovely places.

Lovely Cottage in a Beautiful Place

Seashell is a delightful cottage, immaculately kept and elegantly furnished, poised over a small bay on the edge of the Hebridean sea. We were looking for peace and beauty following a stressful year and we found it at Seashell and in the entirety of the Fiskivaig and Carbost area.

Fab Cottage

The house was even better than the photos suggested. The views were absolutely amazing. Perhaps slightly further from the sea shore than I thought but a 5 minute easy walk. Very well equipped with both equipment and provisions. Shame about all the instructions framed on the wall, but maybe people wouldn't read a file. We had a great stay.

Thank you for your kind review . Yes The Seashell is quite special place . Just wonderful to have so much sky, sea ,mountains and open space all around .No light pollution at all....Only the stars at night ! The guest advice on the wall is VERY necessary .I expect most places have this in a book form ,or similar, to advise guests . For the safe and efficient management of the cottage .Our Housekeeper does a wonderful job of keeping the standard of warmth comfort and cleanliness . Most of our guests and dog owners respect this .

Seashell Cottage

A lovely property with wonderful views but in need of some updating especially the bathrooms and heating. Property was cold and we had to ask for heating in lounge dining area to be increased but old storage heater in main bedroom was too hot and could not be turned down. We also had a water leak in kitchen from dishwasher. As I said a lovely cottage but in need of a lot of TLC.

Thank you for your review . The excellent housekeeper dealt with your concerns quickly and efficiently . The newly intalled heaters were simply switched to a different heating setting.,as you requested Bedroom STORAGE heater ....simply flick the switch to Off Storage Heater cools down slowly . The woodburner fire is supplied with logs firelighters etc for your use when required . A new Dishwasher replaces the old one ..... The Seashell welcomes so very many wonderful Guests and Positive comments . Yours was the only negative comment we have received !!! My Guests love staying at The Seashell and so of many of my Guests return again and again . Our reviews are generally 5 star We offer our 2 Guests ... 2 double ensuite bathrooms, each has a bath or shower bath toilet and washbasin all nicely co ordinated with our bedrooms . Can I suggest a travelodge -type environment may be more suited to your requirements ,for your future holidays Perhaps a large dose of TLC for yourself !!!. Nevelee

Off Grid Weeks Holiday

Excellent cottage with stunning views and sunsets. Location out of the way, so very quiet. 4 miles from nearest hamlet/village of Carbost with good pub and a community shop. Carbost is also where you find the Talisker Distillery. The cottage has all the necessary items to cater for a weeks stay. Would recommend anyone who goes, goes self suffiencent as nearest supermarkets are in Portree and Broadford. We did take our own air fryer as this was the only thing lacking. It was good to have the american style fridge freezer to store all the food we had taken. Cottage is decorated beautifully. Nice gardens - it would have been nice to see the fantastic view from the dining table when eating, but the view was obstructed by the canopy of a tree ! It was great to see 2 deer in the garden on our last day. Thanks for a great stay and the weather was kind to us.

Hello Helen , Thank you for your very kind review . Pleased to know you had a good holiday and good weather ! Before guests arrive. I always advise to stock up on groceries and petrol especially . Petrol stations in the Highlands are few and Far between .. Also to check the location on your map ......... This information is included on the VRBO listing ...... Skye is a big Island . Lots of beautiful and quiet remote places to explore away from the crowded areas .....Fiscavaig is one of them . Sorry no plan to include an Air Fryer !! Good you supplied your own anyway ... The kitchen comes very well equipped .Everything one needs for a weeks/ fortnights holiday ... Plus Lots of excellent restaurants on Skye ...Booking advisable . The Beautiful Tree in the Garden that you mentioned is Prunus Mount Fuji a mass of white blossom in Spring.... .The View from the Dining Area is a Garden View ........ So many birds visit the Garden especially in Wintertime...... Lovely to watch them from the Dining Area . Stunning Views from the Sitting room ....Kitchen..... Bedroom.... of Sea Island and Mountain Views .All around . And of course Outside in the Garden Weather and Midges permitting ! The Off Grid reference is incorrect . Fiscavaig is entirely connected to the Grid As is all of Skye ! Nevelee .

Tolles Haus an ruhiger Lage

Das Haus bietet alles: Eine tolle Aussicht. Guten Zugang zur Meeresbucht. Wer Ruhe sucht und keine Touristenströme möchte, ist hier an der richtigen Adresse. Es ist der optimale Ausgangsort, um die Isle of Skye erkunden zu können. Beim Einkauf sollte man möglichst nichts vergessen, da der nächste Einkaufsshop über eine halbe Stunde enfernt ist. Wenn es kühl ist ist es empfehlenswert, warme Kleidung dabei zu haben. Auch für die Hunde ist das Haus und der Garten ein wahres Paradies. Ausreichende Umzäunung und wenige Treppen im Hausinnern sind garantiert.

Thank you for staying at The Seashell I am happy to know you all enjoyed your weeks at The Seashell on Skye . Indeed it is a very special quiet peaceful environment with Wonderful Sea and Island Views all around ......... The weather on Skye is always unpredictable .Warm waterproof clothing is very necessary. At all times of the year ..... It is advisable to stock up on groceries and petrol en route to Skye I advise guests of this.... Shops and facilities are few and far between in rural areas !! Most villages have a small shop . Portree the main town is a 40 minute drive away from Seashell .All facilities can be found here ........... Skye is largely a crofting community.......livestock Sheep ..Highland Cattle.. Deer Nesting Birds.. .Otters.. etc all have priority . Dogs must always be kept under control. On a lead .... Doggy rules apply ............ Dogs can run freely in the Bay . The large garden is suitable for dogs it is partially fenced with open access to the lower crofts and the Bay ......... Guests and one well behaved dog............Welcome......

Seashell Cottage

This cottage is just as described, a fantastic location and extremely well appointed for a stay in Skye. The views at either end of the day are tremendous. I would recommend this cottage and Skye to everyone. I have just booked for next Easter, this will be our third year in a row.

No words to describe how beautiful is Isle of Sky. The cottage is in awesome location and all the family enjoyed staying in it and enjoying the views from the living room. Absolutely no regrets traveling 12 hours with a car all the way from London

Peace and quiet, home from home.

Seashell was warm and cosy, tucked away in a quiet corner of Skye. The cottage had all you could need for a relaxing stay. The location near the beach, with views to the west, was perfect.

Wir kommen wieder !

Unsere Bewertung sagt alles. Wir hätten uns keine bessere Unterkunft wünschen können. Das Seashell Cottage ist modern eingerichtet, sauber, alles war im Haus vorhanden. Die freie Sicht in die Bucht Fiscavaig war überwältigend . Auf der Insel gibt es viel zu entdecken. Hierzu gibt es bereits ausreichend Berichte. Wie schon gesagt, wir kommen wieder.

Stunning location, beautifully designed with fantastic views of the sea. V warm.

We spent a superb New Year week at the Seashell with our 2 dogs. There are loads of beautiful walks all over Skye, and we travelled about most days. The Seashell has wonderful views through lovely picture windows over the sea (from several rooms). A lovely place, very well equipped, v clean and well set up. In all we had a great holiday. We highly recommend The Seashell.

Luxury at your fingertips

My first time to the Isle of Skye and the Seashell was superb. The Seashell has every luxury your require and even more with the peace and quiet overlooking beautiful views. It is a fabulous bolthole to all the exploring of the Isle and there is plenty to see. I went in March and very few places are open so made my packed lunch and had a fabulous time. The weather was lovely as well. I even got to see the northern lights. Thank you for a fabulous stay - only downside the garden is not secure but luckily my dog follows me around like a shadow

Thank you for staying at The Seashell and pleased that you had a wonderful holiday. We do allow One WELL BEHAVED dog ,which should be kept under control at all times .although there are no livestock in the area . The Seashell sits within 3/4 acres of garden ground with access to the surrounding countryside and the bay .,for lovely doggy walks No special area is provided to "contain " your pet .They should remain your responsibility at all times. Thank you for your consideration

Perfect spot, the seashell and Skye is stunning

Property in a beautiful quiet spot, so relaxing. The seashell has everything you need. The wildlife in the bay was a real treat. Local pubs n restaurants were great. Can't wait to go back.

Einzigartig!

Was für ein niedliches Cottage! Wow!!! Nicht nur seine Lage, die sehr ruhig und erholsam für uns gewesen ist, sondern auch die liebevolle Ausstattung mit allem, was man zum Wohlfühlen benötigt, hat uns unsere erste Ferienwoche auf der Insel Sky versüßt (Küche modern und komplett mit Koch- und Gewürzutensilien ausgestattet, geschmackvolles Interieur, alles sehr sauber). Das findet man selten. Vielen Dank an Nevelee! Wir können die Insel Sky nur empfehlen. Sie ist besonders, sowohl landschaftlich als auch farblich. Jedoch sollte man versuchen, die Touri-Ströme zu meiden. Ruhige unbd lauschige Plätze/ Buchten findet man nach kleineren oder längeren Wanderungen abseits. Bitte immer eine Regenjacke im Rucksack mitnehmen. Die Wolken ziehen hier schneller vorüber.;-) (Leider haben wir nie persönlichen Kontakt zur Vermieterin gehabt.) [What a cute cottage! Wow!!! Not only its location, which was very quiet and relaxing for us, but also the loving facilities with everything you need to feel comfortable, our first holiday week on the Island of Sky sweetened us (kitchen modern and completely equipped with cooking and spice utensils , Tasteful interior, everything very clean). This is rare. Thanks to Nevelee! We can only recommend the island of Sky. It is special, both landscape and color. However, you should try to avoid the touri streams. Quiet unbd secluded places / bays can be found after smaller or longer hikes away. Always bring a raincoat in the backpack. The clouds are moving faster.;-) (Unfortunately, we never had personal contact with the landlord.)]

Perfect bliss

The Seashell is wonderfully comfortable and well equipped. The huge windows give panoramic views of the bay in all weathers. The dogs loved the five minute run from the end of the garden through the bracken to the deserted bay every morning. The house has a lovely feel and the owner was really helpful with answers to our pre visit questions. There is an outstanding bar/restaurant (Munros) only five minutes drive away and we kept popping into the Oyster Shed on our travels out to the rest of the island. Fiscavaig is beautifully quiet and out of the way but well located for places of interest near and far - Portree, Sleat peninsula, Cuillins etc. Can't recommend the Seashell highly enough.

Fantastic cottage in a beautiful, peacful location

We had the most amazing time on Skye and Seashell cottage is the perfect base to explore the island. The cottage is set in a beautiful location with a short stroll leading down to a little bay which is a great place for an early evening walk. The cottage has everything you will need for a relaxing holiday and has excellent décor with stunning views. We can not wait to return to Skye and we will also return to Seashell cottage. Thank you
