Betty was very friendly and welcoming, including tea and biscuits on our arrival. Kitchen and house in general were very well equipped and the location was perfect. View from the lounge window was lovely.

We loved are stay.

We loved the cottage and the location worked well for all our plans. We were centrally located to all the sites we planned to see. Betty was a fabulous host and the cottage was clean and comfortable.

Beautiful cottage!

Beautiful cottage right on the Loch Snizort. Lovely location, central for everywhere. The cottage is so clean and cozy, we didnt want for anything all week. Betty is lovely.

Comfortable cottage, lovely views. The cottage has everything you need for your stay. Our host Betty was more than helpful and made us very welcome. Will definitely be making a return trip in the future.

We were very pleased to have the opportunity to meet Betty, our host. She invited us for a cup of tea and some biscuits and came to say goodbye on the day before our departure. She had also thoughtfully placed a lovely bouquet of flowers in the house for us.We booked the house mainly because of its convenient location. It is situated very centrally on the island, which meant that we were able to reach many places of interest, especially in the north of the island (which we visited three times), within a relatively short time.We expected a better view of the Kyle from the house. Unfortunately, there was a hedge. The house is quite small overall. The bedrooms were well equipped and had wardrobes and chests of drawers, so there was enough space for all our clothes. We would have appreciated a coat rack in the hallway and some additional storage space in the bathroom. We moved the small dining table from the kitchen into the living room, which worked well for us.It was somewhat difficult to get our laundry properly dry inside the house.Overall, we felt that the house offered reasonable value for money, especially considering the very high prices charged for other properties on the island.In our view, it would be worthwhile replacing the carpet with a more practical, easy-to-maintain flooring. The living room could also be made considerably cosier with some renovation. The heavy leather furniture feels a little imposing in such a small room.

Scotland forever

Betty was a great host and the cottage location made getting around to other locations good. Staying in the country side was very relaxing and I recommend this location to anyone wishing a “true” Highland experience!

Nice cottage with a great view

We spent a wonderful week on Skye. Betty gave us a very hearty welcome, she was very friendly and helpful. The house has everything you need and a terrific view of the landscape. It is a good starting point for excursions and hikes in the north and west of Skye and not far from Portree.

Great location for seeing most of what Skye has to offer

The property is basic but Betty provides everything you need. Even supplied a cot and highchair to save us bringing our own. Kids loved the very friendly neighbours cat.

Fraser's on skye again

Lovely location, beautiful view very hot and sunny! Unbelievable weather for the Isle of skye. Cottage couldn't be better and the owner Betty made us feel extremely welcome. Highly appreciated and definitely recommend by all of us 👌

Great location

Pleasant cottage and host, but when we arrived it was dirty, the bathroom particularly. The toilet was in a very poor state and there were cobwebs and lots of dead insects on the windowsills. (I took photos.)

Loved Betty's cottage

We stayed for a week and found it quite easy to catch the bus at Betty's gate into Portree. From Portree we could easily travel all around the Trotternish Peninsula. We even had a walk toward Skeabost and discovered St. Columba's Island with ancient relics on it. Betty was gracious and friendly. Some of the people in our party had a sensitivity to fragrances and had an adverse reaction to the cleaning products that had been used before we came. We didn't think to ask about that. Fresh air through the week diminished scent. Betty went above and beyond offering tea, flowers and rides.

Basic and rundown

I would not recommend this property. It feels very rundown and needs a thorough cleaning. Everything was very dusty and it didn’t seem like it had been cleaned before we arrived as there were sticky spots on the table and shelves. The air freshener was overpowering and when we turned it off and aired the place out it smelled of stale smoke. It feels like nothing has been updated since the 80s. The mattress was uncomfortable. The view was nice but the hedge hasn’t been maintained so it’s partly blocked. Honestly we tried to find somewhere else after our first night but the whole island was booked.

une excellente base pour visiter Skye

Le cottage est très bien placé pour visiter toute l’île, au calme avec une vue superbe sur un bras de mer et les montagnes, mais pas loin de la route principale et à 15mn des commerces de Portree. Le cottage est très confortable avec tout ce qui est nécessaire (cuisine, salle de bains, laver et sécher le linge, livres …) il a en grande partie été rénové récemment. La propriétaire est très sympathique et accueillante, elle habite à 200m. Notre seul petit problème pendant le séjour a été résolu très vite. Nous sommes restés une semaine pour visiter l’île et randonner, nous étions tristes de partir. Nous nous sommes sentis bien à cet endroit et nous recommandons vivement ce cottage.

Emplacement tres bien pour rayonner au nord de l'île. Confort du cottage super, il y a tout ce qu'il faut! Et Betty est super !
