General comments about property

Steep stairs, but good bedrooms, good bathroom but pity no facility upstairs (particularly a toilet/washbasin). Comfortable sitting area (bit cool though even with heating); not really enough room for table set up. So difficult to get the TV working properly. Kitchen okay, but rain was dripping through one of the velux windows. Generally the place looks as though it needs a refreshing paint throughout. Outside could do with 'tarting' up a bit.

Perfect location, clean and comfortable, everything we needed and a very obliging host. Would help us oldies to have a bit more instruction re TV and a bit of a blip in receiving access details for property, again probably due to our lack of tech knowhow!!

Host Cancelled My Stay

I had a disappointing experience as my host hadn’t provided any check-in details the day of my stay. Check in is at 4pm, at 5pm I had reached my destination where the accommodation was and I realized I didn’t have any information regarding my check-in process. I reached out to the host who then informed me that the accommodation was double booked and my stay would be cancelled. I then had to scramble to find accommodation last minute after travelling for 12 hours from Canada without phone service to call around. I finally found another option to stay but ended up paying double the price due to it being last minute. I am still awaiting for customer support to reach out, but due to the aforementioned lack of cell service, it will have to wait till I’m back home to see how they resolve this and retain my support.

Cosy stay at Christmas

A lovely little cottage which was warm and clean for our Christmas stay. Really well equipped kitchen, great bathroom with lovely shower, and comfy bedrooms. The location was nice and quiet while still feeling central. A few Christmas decs would have been nice, also there was no wood for the fire, but overall we had a lovely stay!

Misled, unsafe stairs, and refused refund

I booked this property for my 81 year old partially sighted mother. There was no photo of the stairs, nor was there an access statement describing them. When we got into the property there was no way my mother could stay; she cannot see the differentiation of the steps owing to the thick brown shag carpet. She was tripping over the level changes on the ground floor, and the steep angle of the stairs and 90 degree turn made it unsafe and unsuitable for her. The 2005 Disability Act requires holiday lets to have a clear and accurate description of the layout of the property; this had neither. I was refused a refund from the owner, and VRBO investigated and advised I claim on the buyer’s protection from my credit card provider. This was obviously stressful as I had to find alternate accommodation at 4pm on. Friday, and have spent 3 weeks chasing for a refund. It’s a dumb problem to have as it could have easily been avoided had a photograph of the stairs been available on the booking information, and if the Access Statement had been written properly. TL/DR DO NOT BOOK FOR ELDERLY OR VISUALLY IMPAIRED. The stairs look like a nightmare for anyone with young kids too!

Small changes could make it top notch

We arrived late at night & it was dark. When getting out the car, I was asked by a neighbour if we knew where the parking space down the road was. Rather than helpful this felt quite passive aggressive. We easily gained access to the property, but when I found the designated parking space, a car was parked in it. I took a photo & we messaged the host. Their response said they didn’t recognise the car. We had to pay to use the pay & display car park. The bottom of the bath was damaged, which concerned us as we have two children under 5 years old. We reported this to the host who replied saying the bath was due to be replaced. The TV & WiFi worked well & proves useful during the unsettled weather. The games in the cupboard in the lounge provided entertainment too. The foldaway table & chairs worked well. The kitchen was fairly well equipped, although some newer/cleaner baking trays & chopping board would have been good. The wardrobes & bedroom furniture provided good storage. It was helpful that the host was able to provide a travel cot & highchair for our youngest. Some of the towels were were stained & very threadbare. This might’ve been understandable if it was the end of the season but it was July! I grew up in Kingsbridge & when visiting we’ve stayed in other self-catering accommodation that has more of a personal touch & is more polished e.g., milk & bubbly in the fridge a handwritten note wishing you an enjoyable stay. Extras like this = 5*s!

Perfect location for the centre of kingsbridge.

Lovely well equipped cottage for our stay, right in the heart of Kingsbridge centre. We enjoyed many of the local restaurants near by, including Indian, Turkish and and Chinese. All really high quality and loved by all of us.

Glorious Kingsbridge

A charming cottage in central but quiet location, comfortable and well fitted out. Parking very easy and great to be able to take the dog who enjoyed all the wonderful beaches nearby. Would recommend.

Good location

We had a week long stay at Rebecca’s property. We found property location is excellent since everything is available within short walk. Even though few restaurants are less than 30 seconds away we didn’t face any crowd, noise issues. Having a dedicated secured car parking spot was very helpful. It is a very good base to explore nearby location. All the arrangements were spot on.

Convenient character cottage

Convenient and central for buses, takeaway etc. Pleasant cottage, with all mod cons, warm in a chilly May. Helpful and friendly owner when we lost the keys.

We lived this cottage and it was in a great location. Walking distance to the centre but tucked away somewhere quiet. Would definitely recommend !!

Great location, quality accommodation

Fabulace place to stay, very comfortable beds, great shower and bathroom. Two minute walk to town center. Central to visit other devon attractions. Secure parking facility. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Half term getaway

Lovely cottage a stones throw away from the town centre not that you’d know it as tucked away. Parking is tight but there is the option of a locked parking space 100 yards away

Was equipped with everything you might need. Well positioned near pubs. Shops and water front. Plenty of places that do food too.Lovely cottage .lovely place. Excellent location for visiting national trust places. Used parking bay up road due to parking war between neighbours.

Cosy cottage in a great location

We had a lovely stay as a family of four here. The location was spot on, short drives to numerous beaches and national trust properties plus a few minutes walk to the centre of Kingsbridge with enough restaurants and shops. The cottage is cosy but has everything you need, all kitchen utensils, washing machine and lots of games for a rainy morning. If you want to eat in a lot the table is a bit of a squeeze but with the closest restaurant 30 seconds away you don't need to 😊. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Great location

Very well equipped cottage, everything you need to have a great holiday. Even the knives were sharp!!! There was some corona virus unsettled neighbours, but overall a very good place to have a family holiday with 2 kids.

Great Location in the center of town

We had a great time, Rebecca was really nice, one pub is so close that getting a beer felt like going to your own fridge. Nevertheless it was quiet at night.

Great property, central location

This was a very convenient and centrally located property in Kingsbridge just a short walk everywhere including the bus station. The property has free off- street parking. Facilities are excellent, particularly bathroom and bedrooms.

I fell in love with this cottage when I was 18 and thought about it a lot, thinking how amazing a "get away" place it would make. Over the years the feel grew stronger and then in 2011 it came onto the market and I bought it! A lot of work was needed including new roof, kitchen, bathroom, front patio area and general decoration, which was all carried out with respect for the building. I hope you love Mill Cote as much as I do.
