Inside, you will find an updated kitchen, barstool seating for 2 plus separate dining room seats 6. Living room has seating for 7, flat screen TV, fireplace-flame surrounded by glass beads at the touch of a button.
The home has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, sleeps 6. There are ceiling fans in all of the bedrooms and also the living room. One bath has tub and shower, 2nd bath has shower only.
Laundry room in the house. Coffee, bottled water, kitchen supplies and seasonings are available for guests to use.
This property has been featured on the Garden Tour by the Garden Club, both for the drought-tolerant front yard landscape, as well as the lushly planted backyard with its outdoor living space.
The backyard features a hot tub, built-in fire pit, large waterfall and Koi pond with beautiful professional landscaping. The back yard is entirely patio surrounded by landscaping, rather than a grassy lawn.
The covered patio area has a beautiful outdoor kitchen and an outdoor dining table for 6. The partially-covered portion of the outdoor living space has a very large water feature with a waterfall and a Koi Pond. There is also a built-in fire pit and comfortable seating area. The large, crystal-clear water hot tub seats 6.
In the summer, you will appreciate the coolness of the shade from the large trees, covered patios, and the water feature. The hot tub is also kept cool and guests often use it in the summer as a relaxing way to cool off.
In the winter, after your warm soak in the hot tub, enjoy relaxing by the fire pit with your family and friends. It will keep you comfortably warm even on cold winter nights.
Follow the path through the front yard past the boulders, dry creek bed, and desert-scape landscape design. There is another patio space here as you make your way up to the covered porch, that leads to the front door.
Elegant landscape lighting adds ambiance to the front and the back landscaping and living spaces. The internet booster provides a strong signal throughout the entire property. Large driveway accommodates 3-4 vehicles.
There is a garden apartment, (listing #800239) on the other side of the garage from this house. The apartment has its own courtyard and shares only the driveway with this house. Sometimes, larger groups book both the house and the apartment if both are available. I can assist you with co-ordinating this arrangement if it will work well for your group.
This charming house was built about 1940, and has a lot of character to show for it! I purchased the home in 2009 and completed the renovation in 2012.
The specific street the house is on is a main thoroughfare, (although the house is set back from the street), and is less than1 mile from downtown, the Convention Center, and the Hospital District. Downtown has lovely shops, restaurants, and bars.
The home is beautifully decorated in a contemporary-CA style. This is not just a basic suburban house in a basic suburban neighborhood. The thought, effort, and money that went into the decor is evident. You will feel like you are truly on vacation here!

Why Lisa Scott and Keith Guthrie chose Visalia
This house has been featured in the Garden Club's Annual Garden Show, both for the Drought Tolerant Landscape in the front, as well as for the huge water feature and lush gardens in the backyard. The massive Oak trees and built-in patio coverings keep the backyard comfortable so that guests can enjoy the outdoor kitchen throughout the summer. The large fire pit make it a useable and comfortable space in the winter as well.
What makes this House unique
Visalia is one of the few places where visitors are only a day trip away from vineyards and wine tasting, the CA Central Coast, and Sequoia National Park. It is a great place for a couples getaway, or for a family vacation. I have also hosted groups where several couples, or a couple of families, want to spend a relaxing weekend together in a lovely setting without having to clean up at the end! Sometimes guests are celebrating a birthday, a graduation, a new job, or sometimes just a chance to be together and unwind!
