Grande maison à Broadkill. Juste un pâté de maisons de la plage!

Ce chalet confortable est étonnamment spacieux et aussi relaxant qu'une brise d'été fraîche. Un grand terrain d'angle donne la sensation d'intimité tout en conservant la commodité d'être à un pâté de maisons de la plage. L'accès à la plage est au bout d'une route, donc très pratique et à quelques pas de la maison.

Il y a une grande terrasse avec une grande douche extérieure. La maison dispose également d'une salle toute saison pour capter la brise sans les insectes. Il y a quatre chambres et une tanière avec un futon inhabituellement confortable. La maison peut facilement accueillir 11 couchettes. Il est surmonté d'une incroyable coupole qui offre une vue à 360 degrés.

Meublé avec un confort discret et décontracté, il y a de nombreux trésors à découvrir, notamment des horloges anciennes, de nombreux livres et un four à gaz fabuleusement génial avec une plaque chauffante. Il n'y a pas de meilleur endroit pour découvrir la facilité et la liberté de la vie sur la plage!

L'établissement accepte les animaux de compagnie avec des frais non remboursables pour animaux de compagnie et un avenant signé. Le propriétaire effectuera des séjours de 3 nuits de septembre à mai. Demandez des détails à votre agent.

Great place and short walk to the beach

Very charming and comfortable with amazingly functional kitchen. Nice fenced yard for the pets and great/friendly neighbors. We will be back. BRING your own TP, trash bags, towels and face cloths. We will be back.

Comfortable and relaxing stay.

The house was just as advertised; a large comfortable home close to the beach. The rooms were clean and spacious. The only issues was the landscapers showed up at 6:45 A.M., as we were on vacation this was a bit of a minor inconvenience. The instructions for the TV could use an update.

Beautiful beach house

We loved our stay at the Broadkill Writers Resort!! Books on display in every room, plenty of room for the 6 of us, and close proximity to the beach. Took the dogs to the beach every day, and our teens went the the more popular beaches down the coast, just a short ride away. We lived riding our bikes and running through the "main" road of Broadkill, which seemed like it had more foot traffic than cars. We would certainly be happy to go back next year!

Quiet and Peaceful, But A Bit Disappointing House

This house, located about 20-30 minutes outside of Lewes, DE is peaceful and quiet and only a very short walk to the beach. The house itself leaves something to be desired - the AC only works downstairs (no vents upstairs), it was a bit musty as if it hadn't seen visitors in a while, the small backyard was uneven and obviously built over a septic tank, and some of the appliances were not functioning. The management company's rules and regulations were a bit onerous and unfriendly as well. However, there is a very well-stocked load of books and games all over the house, plenty of room to spread out, an outdoor shower/playroom, and comfy furniture for a relaxing weekend.

Thank you for staying with us and providing feedback! The area really is tranquil with great beach access, as you pointed out. It is true that our home only has duct work for vents on the first floor, but all of the bedrooms and the landing have window air conditioning units which allows for each room’s temperature to be set to the occupant’s liking. The remote nature of the community means there are no sewer lines, therefore all homes at Broadkill Beach have septic systems like ours, however our corner lot is larger than most and fenced in for dogs. I’m happy you enjoyed the library of games, books, and movies, all of which we’re working to expand year-round. Each year we’ve had this property we’ve upgraded some aspect of the house or grounds so we’ll take your comments into consideration for this year’s projects. Thanks again!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love this place on Broadkill. We have stayed in other places but we like this with the fenced in yard for our dog. It is convenient to the beach and not a far walk. Some of the streets now don’t have much of a beach and others have a long walk to the beach. The place is very comfortable and has everything you would need for a nice stay. We just wish they would do some clean up outside, maybe cut those pines trees in the driveway that get all over the vehicles and make the deck area more appealing by staining it . We couldn’t eat our meals outside because there isn’t a table on the deck anymore. Unfortunately the grass was not cut and our little dog was not happy with the high grass. We probably should have called and asked to have it cut. We still like the property and will be back again. A little outside work would make it so much more appealing.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: home is a nice size with 4 bedrooms and extra room has futon that converts to full size bed. kitchen has an odd layout with 3 types of countertops, but it works. Location to the beach is great. front screened-in porch is nice in the morning. Overall, the place needs a deep clean and to replace some throw rugs, blankets and pillow shams.

Comfortable house on Broadkill.

We enjoyed our off season week at the beach. The house was great. Love the big old gas stove! The only real complaint is that the dishwasher doesn’t work very well and need to be replaced. Loved the cool cupola and all the books!

July 2017 Stay

The entire family was thrilled with the Broadkill Writers Retreat house. The picture of my grandson sums up how we all felt! Large enough for six adults and 2 active grandkids, none of us felt like we were cramped. Everything worked fine and we encountered no problems during our stay. Check-in was a breeze and even though the cleaners didn't get there until after 2pm, they efficiently cleaned the place in less than an hour. With easy access to the beach, plenty of parking, a breezy screened porch and large open deck, everyone got a full dose of summer.

May 2018 Stay

Great place, they have pretty much everything you need already here. The living room had some debris and wire pieces we had to clean up but not deal. Walk to the beach, got tons of shells and the house is pretty much perfect for us. I would say the pictures don’t do it justice. Wall decor and books everywhere, very cool. Broadkill and this rental are hidden gems, we will book again next year.

Our own private beach!

We were very pleased with our rental at Broadkill Beach. The home was large and homey. It had everything you could possibly need. The bedrooms were nice sized. The stove was awesome. The beach was a short walk away. Every time we went to the beach there were only a couple people there. Sometimes we were the only ones. It was like having your own private beach! If you are looking for a very nice home very close to the beach away from all the bright lights and chaos this is for you. Lewes, Rehoboth Beach and other beaches are only a short drive away.

Overall we were pleased

Liked the fact that there were enough chairs for everyone in each room. Liked the fact that there was enough silverware, glasses, and dishes for the day. In other words, didn't have to wash dishes after every meal. Liked the deck cover since which kept the floor cooler. Loved that location of beach to the house. Loved the quietness of the beach, except when our dog barked because he wanted to play and we weren't throwing the ball fast enough. Since it is a pet friendly environment, it would have been nice if the entire yard had been fenced so we could have let the dog run off of the leash in the yard. Disliked the mosquitoes and flies, but that's not your fault. The lack of closet space was a small problem, but next year we will take hooks to put over the doors. We probably only really noticed it this year because we all had dress cloths to attend a wedding the second weekend. Dishwasher was sometimes temperamental, but we always managed to get it to work. We liked it well enough that we reserved for 2 weeks in 2019. If you want any other information, please feel free to contact me. See you in 2019.

Wonderful house and location

This home was greater than expected, plenty of room for 5 adults, 2 preschool age kids and a couple of dogs. So many books, games and well furnished rooms. This is a perfect getaway place, and the neighbors are great(the folks who live there year round). Short walk to the beach tops it off. Enjoy.

Great rental for any time of year!

I have stayed at several rentals in the area and Broadkill Resort is one of the most comfortable and well equiped. The bedrooms are roomy with comfortable mattresses. There is plenty of comfortable seating between the living room and enclosed porch and there is a huge selection of books and games for when you aren't at the beach (which is just a short walk away). If you like to cook there is just about anything you would need to make a good meal and enough dishes to go around. It is also nice to be within easy walking distance of the little store. The fireplace was a nice touch since we were visiting off season. We will most certainly return!

Wonderful family beach house! Has it all!

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Firstly Jennifer, the owner, was particularly helpful. The location was great and so close for getting to and from the beach. Property was perfect - clean, charming, airy & breezy, large, with loads of nice touches like boogey boards, giant outdoor shower, cupula, super-stocked kitchen, and amazing diner-style griddle/stove. We spent morning and evenings enjoying the fabulous covered porch area! Looking forward to staying in your property again next year Jennifer, thanks for a great holiday!
