About Kelly Bockmon
We are a family who loves the outdoors and found Salmon the place that fits our lifestyle. Not only does Salmon have a lots to keep us busy, what we like most about this place are the people. The people of Salmon are the friendliest people we've ever met. You get a feeling of genuine community here.
Kelly Bockmon purchased this Cabin in 2015
Why Kelly Bockmon chose Salmon
We love the peaceful neighborhood, the proximity to the town of Salmon, the views, the Amish store by the highway, the orchard, chicken coop, and animal barns.
What makes this Cabin unique
The Baker Country Cabin is located in a beautiful, quiet area, with friendly neighbors. The Amish market down the street offers a variety of unique goods; sandwiches, dried foods, canned jams, canned veggies, dairy goods, an amazing assortment of cheeses, homemade breads, fry pies, homemade furniture, etc. We are not far from the hot springs and less than 10 miles from Salmon which offers a variety of restaurants and shopping experiences. The Sacajawea Center, museum, and new library offer lots of activities in and around town. There are several outfitters who offer rafting trips, horseback riding, guided hunts, and can make sure your trip to Lemhi County is an adventure you'll never forget!

Relaxing Family Vacation
My family and I spent 7 days at the house in early August. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and the surrounding area. The house is well provisioned and centrally located to the majority of the area activities but far enough from the town for peace and quiet. I highly recommend this house if you are planning a vacation in the Salmon area.
The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed. We had all the comforts of home.
This was a beautiful cabin with all the comforts of home. We will recommend this to others. One of the best! Thank you!
Outstanding views and a beautiful cabin
What an incredible place to stay! The cabin is located a quick 10 minute drive from Salmon, so access to town was easy (quick fact - grocery store is closed on Sunday). The cabin is clean, comfortable, and inviting. Beds were comfy and the rooms are good sized. The best part of the views from the 3/4 wrap around deck. My favorite view was off the front porch looking up at the beaverhead mountains. Access to the mountains for outdoor activities is right out the back door. Can't wait to come back next year!
We're so glad to have you and your family stay at the cabin! Hope the race went well! Thank you!
My wife and I stayed six nights in July and loved it!
We used it as a gathering spot for four other families.
Grandkids and others spent several nights, PLENTY of room and comfortable.
Kitchen is large and well stocked, cooked daily, BBQ'd on the deck nightly.
River is close but good fishing was a few miles away.
Amish market in on the corner but for other shopping Salmon is a few minutes away.
Kelly is a great host, supplied everything we needed!
Would definitely stay again when visiting family.
The Perfect Getaway Cabin!!
We stayed here for three nights in March which is off-season for the Salmon area. Translation--tons of peace & quiet! I imagine the cabin is always peaceful no matter the season however; we wish we could've stayed another week and just wandered around exploring the area every day, with this amazingly perfect cabin to come back to each night.
We stayed here with three kids who loved the loft area and the spacious yard outside. All the beds had very comfortable linens and comforters, with supportive yet well-cushioned mattresses. I loved sitting on the living-room furniture, so relaxing with the gas fireplace going! The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals each evening, and great-looking rustic dinnerware that we had to ask the owner about--we have been looking for plates like this forever! Overall, the whole place exudes the ideal cabin atmosphere with a great mix of interesting, eclectic knick-knacks and art on the walls and comfy places to hang out everywhere. We were literally dragging our feet when we had to leave.
Last but not least, the owners were extremely hospitable throughout our stay. We were a last-minute reservation but that didn't matter. Everything was ready to go, and Kelly made sure we felt welcome. Then I screwed up the DISH Network first thing once we were settled in, so I called to see if she knew how to fix it. She responded right back and we got it going again. Thanks so much!
Thank you for choosing our cabin to stay at during your trip to Salmon! Thank you also for such a wonderful review! We are always striving to make the cabin as comfortable as possible and as welcoming as possible so that our guests will have an enjoyable vacation! We Hope you and your family return soon! Salmon is a wonderful place!
My family and I absolutely loved this house and we loved the location!
When we arrived in the area the temp was extremely cold outside and the house was not really cozy and warm. The house only provides small heating units in most of the rooms so we had to keep them on high in order to be comfy. It's great that the house provides Wi-Fi but unfortunately it's not good. None of my family could use it and the Netflix wouldn't connect either. Definitely bring movies if you want to use the TV. The only other problem we had was that the kitchen was missing a few things that would've been helpful. There wasnt a can opener or any large baking dishes for casseroles or anything like that. If you plan on cooking from the house most of the time there is only some basic things. Other than these things there was lots of plates, mugs, cups and dinnerware. We were well provided with towels and linens and lots of warm blankets. The house is absolutely beautiful and we would definitely want to stay here again in the future.
Thank you for choosing our cabin to stay in. So glad you loved the property, but we're sorry it was so cold when you were there! Minus temperatures are miserable. This is the first winter we have left the cabin open for guests, and it looks like we'll need to put in some more powerful heating units. I've got my electrician on it! We're also in the process of finding the perfect, large, corner "electric" fireplace for the master bedroom. One that offers ambiance, as well as warmth. For the kitchen, we'll definitely add some bakeware for casseroles, as well as stash a few more can openers. Seems those little buggers disappear now and then. Sorry we over looked it. We're looking into other solutions for wifi also, and may have to get satellite service. The internet company hasn't been very helpful:/. Thanks again for choosing our cabin, and we hope to have you back soon!
Directions from the town of Salmon: Go south on Hwy 28 approx 9 miles to Baker Rd., turn LEFT. The cabin is a few houses down on the right side.
