Our stay in Alghero far surpassed our expectations, thanks in large part to the exceptional apartment we chose. From the moment we arrived, our host, Maria and her assistant Silvi, made everything seamless—check-in was quick, informative, and stress-free. We did encounter a brief issue with the Wi-Fi, but it was resolved within the hour, which speaks volumes about the attentiveness and responsiveness of our host.The apartment itself was a gem, perched above Alghero’s charming historic center. It is a large and bright 1st floor apartment on Piazza Civica, offering a front-row seat to daily life in Alghero. This 2 bedroom apartment had air conditioning and was well suited for cooking your own meals, as well being supplied with fresh linens and extra towels. The view alone made it feel like we were part of the town’s rhythm. We quickly realized that a car was unnecessary—everything we needed was within easy reach. My husband, who has some mobility challenges, navigated the area comfortably with just a bit of added caution, no more than he would need anywhere else. The terrain was manageable, and the town’s layout proved surprisingly accommodating.We explored extensively on foot and with the help of a rented scooter we had effortless access to the surrounding neighborhoods and coastal paths. Alghero’s compact design and pedestrian-friendly streets made it easy to immerse ourselves in the local culture.
